I have been so excited to stop by and visit better buzz finally in San Diego. I love their iced americano and best drink ever. They had great customer service and a very clean location. Really long wait times for mediocre coffee and terrible customer service... waited 25 minutes for my order and when I went to pick it up, they were out of the almond croissant. They asked if I wanted to substitute I said sure for any other croissant and they said they were all out and how about a cookie or refund? I said a refund is fine. Stuck around waiting for someone to process the refund, maybe another 10 minutes. She confirmed it was done, but it's been two weeks and it was never refunded. During the last two weeks, I called twice and no one answered. Left a voicemail and no one got back to me. Emailed customer service twice and haven't heard back. Not to mention I didn't get any points awarded to my app for my purchase made directly on the app... customer service is pretty disappointing here. read more

Welcome to the neighborhood!! Limited seating inside but it does have some outside tables. Super busy location. This is in my top three coffee shops in san Diego. Lightbulb coffee is numerous uno. Lofty coffee in Hillcrest is second. Better Buzz is a close third. Their chocolate is delicious and their chocolate lattes are so yummy. They don't blink twice at special orders. this is their newest location and I actually love it! I have been to the la jolla & hillcrest location and have the exact positive experience at them all. All the employees are very friendly and helpful and the coffee is delicious. I figured it would be easier if I ordered through the app since usually when I verbally order at the café, there will always be something wrong with my drink. But this time I asked for oat milk replacement and to add the foam, but when I received my drink through the drive-through it was too late for me to realize that my drink was incorrect. They forgot to add foam and I can taste the whole milk instead of oat so I'll be stuck in the bathroom for the rest of the day. Usually it isn't hard to go back and get the drink fixed, but since the location is located in such a busy street, the drive-through line was long and parking was unavailable due to how small the parking lot was. I was so excited that there was a location near me but the extra drive to Northpark Better Buzz will be worth it. read more

I'm glad to see better buzz in this location since this area lucks in local coffee shops. I've been to many of their other locations, and this one is on the smaller side. There are not many tables inside, but they have some outdoor seating (tho it may be too hot in the summer unless they get more umbrellas). They also have a drive-thru, and I've been here twice so far. Both times, there was a long line, but it seemed like the lines moved fairly quickly. I went inside to order since I was looking to sit down. It was pretty busy both times I came (Sunday afternoon and Tuesday morning ), but luckily I got a table inside. I got the best drink with 1/3 sweetness and it was good. I also tried their best breakfast sandwich with sourdough which was delicious. Both the drink and the food came out pretty quickly too. Even though I'm not too fond of the sweet mixed drinks, it's nice that they have a variety of flavors of coffee/drinks. There are no outlets inside, so it's not the best place to come to work, but Great spot in this hood to grab a coffee to go or meet up with friends. read more

I have to admit I love the coffee here. But the costumer service is not good. I had a barista give me an attitude about asking them to repeat what they said because they spoke too fast and another barista roll their eyes at me when I explained my order was not taken correctly. That I wanted a regular size coffee not a large size and asked if they could pour it into a smaller cup. It was so uncomfortable that I will never go to Better Buzz again. Starbucks always has nice, respectful workers and I have NEVER had an experience like the one I had at Better Buzz La Mesa. Wish I could say I'm the only one who has had a bad experience at Better Buzz but it seems like other people in my circles have also had similar experiences as well. I'm so excited that there is finally a Better Buzz in East County! I stopped by on a Saturday morning and the line was not that long- maybe about 5-6 cars, which is short for a Better Buzz location. The line moved along quickly and the girl who helped us with our order was absolutely lovely. Super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We asked what pastries they had on site that day, and she said that they had everything! We decided on the crombones, which are like a hybrid of a cinnamon roll and croissant. It is similar to monkey bread, it pulled apart nicely and tasted like French toast. For drinks, I always recommend trying the Best Drink Ever which is an americano with a unique twist- they include a vanilla cream in it which really enhances the flavor. They also had a La Mesa special, the mazapán latte, which tasted similar to my favorite Mexican peanut butter candy. As a bonus, it came in a reusable to go cup. While we didn't eat indoors this time, I have stopped by before, and the ambiance is very modern here. Lots of natural lighting and open tables for working. read more

Today 6/29/25 @1:25pm. The girl who took care of us on the drive thru had terrible customer service. She was being accusatory. When we pulled up she said, "I'm going to skip you and take their order instead" (referring to vehicle behind us). My mom and I were baffled for what she had said. When she came back to take our order, she started accusing us.."next time don't cut people off or we would send you to the back of the line". We told her that the white vehicle had let us go through. Then she continued on saying, "well that's not what I heard from their end". We put in our order and she continued to accuse us that we had cut the white vehicle off. Told her that maybe next time she should also provide better customer service and she should never approach any customer in such an aggressive manner. It was our first time there, we didn't know where the entrance initiated. That's where Google maps took us. I even created an account while we were waiting in line since we were hoping to visit again but after that experience, never again. The staff who handed us our order were polite, friendly and professional (girl at the window). She almost gave us the wrong drink because the girl who stood outside to take our order decided to skip us and messed the order of the drinks for the staff indoors. They should really train the one who stood in the drive thru proper customer service skills. read more

Super crowded! The parking situation was a nightmare however the super cool cashier made up for it, but then the super rude girl with the colored bangs needs to get out of customer service! First they delivered me the wrong size cold brew. No biggie. The remake was sloppy and botched.....and took like 10 minutes to make. My daughter still had not received her drink, (bangs) rudely addressed her "what are you still waiting for" Um her drink b! I mean there's always a nice way to ask something, and that wasn't the way. I even said thank you when I grabbed the drink, there was no you're welcome (common manners) she definitely was over her job today and it showed. Love the coffee, and location because it's close to work but the wait times are always super long!!! Came in today and ordered the OG ACAI, I asked for no granola due to health issues. The wait time was longer than other locations, weird for the time of day it was. Upon arriving at work I noticed my ACAI had granola, this was a 15 min drive. With no breakfast options after this I tried calling to ask of potential refund but nobody picked up, I love this company but I will no longer support them unless I speak with somebody from the company regarding this, this shows me staff needs to be more detailed, there are a lot of people with allergic reactions who can suffer severe consequences from mistakes like these. read more

One of my favorite local spots! The service I received was so amazing I accidentally tipped twice (once on the tablet and in cash). If you have the chance to go, try their matcha with an extra scoop and no vanilla powder! This location does tend to get very busy so I try to go early in the morning to avoid waiting. read more

Loved the decaf americano and the staff were wonderful! Hubby enjoyed his hot chocolate and pastry. Food and drink were great. We sat outside a bit after noon today and since it is the end of December the temperature was fine. There are only about four or five tables inside, with the rest on the cute patio out front--which is where we sat. There are a few small umbrellas, but I'm hoping that they see they may need more shade as we head towards summer. It was a bit odd sitting and talking and having the cars who were leaving the drive-thru driving by. I'll be interested to see how it goes once all the excitement dies down. They want all cars entering the drive-thru to enter from University, not Harbinson. Just fine for those headed west on University but will be a bit more travel for those heading east. My family and I went there for the first time. My wife enjoyed the Italian dark roast and I enjoyed the Costa Rica medium roast. The kids enjoyed their croissant and apple cinnamon muffin. I ordered a caramel vanilla latte and the service was outstanding! Bryan, the guy who took and made my order was super accommodating to my needs. When I first received my coffee I did not like the flavor at first, which was most likely a bad shot(I've worked with coffee too, it happens sometimes!) so I asked if it could be remade.
