I love Ultreya. It's a fun, cute coffee coffee shop that serves delicious treats. I've held many book club meets here and we've all been super satisfied with the food, drinks, and service. Plus, we never need to worry about parking. That is always a bonus.

Food: Fresh Bagels, Cinnamon Rolls & more await with vegan-veggie options. Exquisite coffee selection & many tempting tea selections. Service: Cashier's energetic & answered my many questions regarding the toasted-ness of my jalapeño bagel Remember to check on your order as this spot's not a 'bring it to you' vibe. Ambience: Love the clean & neo-artsy vibe with options to purchase unique jewelry. Their greenery is beyond compare, stunning plants abound. Recommend this surprising jewel!

The grilled hash n cheese sandwich was 5/5 and one of my favorite breakfast sandwich. The crunch of the hash browns combined with avocados made this delicious and I'm definitely returning back for this sandwich. The Mac Nut Latte lacked the macadamia flavor and the coffee was a little burnt. I'll definitely return and give another latte a try. Service was great and the ambiance had a cool hippie vibe. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and definitely recommend this breakfast sandwich.

The women taking the orders were great and friendly and great vibe because of them. The Vietnamese coffee perfect the Day Tripper unfortunately I didn't notice they used coconut milk and it wasn't good to my liking. I would say they need a more variety of specialty drinks.

Stopped in for the first time, the other day, and was so very impressed. Everything was so freaking good! The coffee? Amazing. The bagel? Godly. I think they're called the Peak and the Laguna, respectively. The shop is so cute, lots of great natural lighting and lots of space, so you can come in and grab a bite with the girlie pops and even grab some cute merch. The location itself is a little hidden, but I assure you it's a gem, and you should definitely come in and try it. Will def be back soon!

Nice local coffee shop. I got the standard drip and they let me add macadamia nut milk as a creamer for no charge. I also got a day old matcha concha for a reduced price at $3 and it was still very tasty and I could taste the matcha! They get their pastries from hija del maiz, a local baker. Parking is no problem since it is in a quiet strip mall. They have a good amount of indoor seating and a couple tables outside.

The staff are very kind and welcoming here. They noticed me trying to read the menu from far away and immediately offered me a paper menu. They have a very unique set of drinks! I ordered a latte and was very happy with it. Edit- I wrote the wrong drink flavors above! It was a blueberry coconut latte :)) it's called the "Peak Season" latte.

Forgot about this local coffee shop but revisited after years for an event! Not much has changed but the space itself has lots of goodies from local small businesses and cute trendy merch. The line was really long, but not busy enough to go back to where my workstation was for the event that was taking place here. I decided to stay and wait for my drink which did actually take up most of my time for the event, which I am sad about, but not anyone's fault. The matcha latte I tried was their Marigold Matcha Latte. The mac nut milk is a preferred choice for me as I feel it makes the latte the creamiest and the lime slice makes the drink refreshing. The marigold syrup was not too sweet either which I liked. I do like that they offer some entree food items and offer more than pastries. After coming back in such a long time, I do feel as if their quality has gotten better than before and they have refreshed the menu to keep me interested!

I dunno, this might be my new favorite coffee spot. This may be one of the only places I know that offers macadamia milk as an option and it is absolutely delightful. I had it with coconut and it was perfectly sweet but not too sweet. The vibe is very 60s eclectic and cute. There's plenty of seating inside for study/work and the staff is helpful and nice. Plenty of parking in this strip mall too

The chai with macadamia nut milk served hot and cold are my absolute favorite here. Well worth the price for the taste. You can tell it's not store bought chai. I can't wait to try their peak season as I have heard good things about it. Perfect spot to study or hang out with some friends as they have seating outside and inside.

Did I just find a precious, hidden gem of a cafe in SD?! I SURE DID!! I was looking for a spot to hang out at near SDSU and stumbled upon Ultreya after doing a good ol' Yelp search. Before I get into the nitty gritty of my experience at Ultreya, I'd like to preface by saying that I am an avid cafe-hopper and am ALWAYS on the lookout for "the perfect" spot. Spoiler alert: I FOUND IT. Where do I even begin... From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. You know when you enter a space and you just... feel the good vibes, the sweet ambience, and the cozy warmth? That's exactly what I felt when I entered into this CUTE coffee/tea shop. I was delighted to see an abundance of seating with outlets (for those of us who take our work with us), a variety of beautiful plants to bring forth vibrancy, and a cute lil' section with merch & local made trinkets. Not to mention, the staff was warmly welcoming, kind, and gave me the sense that they enjoyed being and working there. I ordered an iced mac-nut vanilla latte which was tasty and hit the spot. I would've ordered some pastries, but yo' girl is on a calorific deficit at the moment and being mindful about how many delectably delicious and tempting pastries she takes in ;) I set up shop at a window-side table, plugged my laptop in, and cranked out work for a couple hours. I've gotta add.. the bathroom was a special treat. It brought a big ol' smile to my face to see something I wasn't expecting; kind of like greeting an old friend in a metaphorical sense. When you see it and you feel the joy... you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. All of that to say... YES. Go here. Whether you're by yourself, with a friend, or with a study group. Treat yourself. Take the time to have a conversation with one of the baristas. Co-create joy. Take in the peaceful ambience. Pause. Breathe. Bask in the deliciousness of the present moment. Peruse the merch section. Support your local coffee shops. Spread love. Remember... life is supposed to be fun and is even more delicious when you have a tasty latte to chase it with :)

Do you have any gluten free food options?

You can make a SANDWHICH on hashbrowns. And we also have local made sourdough. Not celiac friendly tho and acai bowls. . But otherwise we have minimal options as we don’t have too many requests for gluten free

Do you guys offer low fat options of pastries and milk?

We have oat and almond and macadamia. On dairy milk and whole milk. No low fat. All of our pastries are regular and not labeled low fat. But we have pastries that are gf vegan. We also have a plant based menu lots of options for a healthy snack

Hi there. Do you guys have oat milk?

100% yes. Oat milk is our main milk staple :)

    Do you do pour overs?

Hi J T. We do not offer single cup pour overs, but the brewer we use is a pour over style batch brew. The coffee is clean and all the tasting notes of the coffee still shine through. Hope to see you soon!

Hi there! I was just wondering what kind of non dairy milk options they serve here?

Hi Sophia! We have almond, macadamia nut, coconut and soon to be oat milk! What’s your favorite?

The cashier (the man with the mustache) came across as very arrogant and rude -- he didn't smile or show any welcoming attitude at all. It honestly felt uncomfortable interacting with him. When I picked up my drink, I said "thank you," and the barista didn't acknowledge me or even nod. Overall, the experience felt cold and unprofessional. I'd much rather make the drive to the Golden Hill location, where the service is noticeably better.

If you like the sugar un-bruleed, this is the drink for you. I saw the top was torched for a few seconds, but the drink was still in the tiny sugar crystals.
