Reviews aren't lying , they're super nice ! Friendly helpful There was a guy with long hair who got me a bag and a spoon because I was carrying my infant . Pumpkin cold brew was suggested to me and it was great! I felt like this was made different (the coffee )which is awesome And the chocolate croissant warmed was great and so was the açaí bowl. I drank a cup of house coffee...sooo good, sat at a table on the patio in front of BB and watched the mega foot traffic go in and come out very quickly...with coffee drinks and bag and bags of food (?) whaaat? It's around 10A on Sat. morning, 05-18-24, I'm reading documents and watching the wonderful people patiently waiting in a fast moving, long line out the door. The aroma of food cooking wafts in the air, little kids running in w/ parents to get their drinks, coming out headed to soccer games / events (sort of eavesdropping) / go to grandmas house. What a great Sat. morning vibe - patient drivers in the busy parking lot, too. I kind of feel like I'm a tourist. Maybe it's the beautiful patio area that brings that vibe home. After driving by hundreds of times, I decided to try. Coffee is good, maybe the best around on a good day. I'm not sure if they rotate espressos, but theirs is pretty dark if you get an espresso based drink (americano, cappuccino, latte, etc). I didn't try any of the drips. You've got lots of creative options to choose from along with baked goods and small eats. I've seen it get busy on the weekends, so just a heads up. What soured my experience a bit was a comment after I had left a 15% tip; passive aggressive "What a guy." Yeah, I understand it wasn't a lot and maybe it's my fault for not recognizing some implicit messaging with tipping, but money is already a little tight and I wanted to surprise my wife with a special drink from a new place. Hearing that comment when a tip isn't mandatory was a bit deflating. Having been a barista, I know tips are nice which is why I left what I could but there's no need for passive aggressive comments when tips don't come around or aren't as much as you'd like them to be. And I know it was aimed towards me because no one was around either behind the bar or behind me other than someone working on their laptop. Maybe it was a one-off thing because it was a hard morning, I dunno. It's unfortunate but for what it's worth, if you tip well, you can have a great experience at BB. read more

It was surprise Mother's Day coffee for my mom her favorite is better buzz from when she first had it in Encinitas. I understand it was busy but our coffee order was wrong, no sweetener in her latte and one of our pastries items was missing. We live 15 minutes away so to drive back there and back home is 30 min. We called to let them know we were on hold over 30 min we held on just to see. We finally gave up and hung up! Oh my goodness! Just got to try this place today. The place was filled and had a line out the door! I wasn't sure what to order so just did the vanilla latte hot. It was very subtle and sweet (but not too sweet). I loved the smoothness of the flavor and definitely would go back! The atmosphere is cute and uplifting with the beehive motif. Love the espresso machines here (impressive looking in blue and polished silver with a fleur de lis logo). Lots of families and people meeting together here and I felt very comfortable in their plush seating. The drinks aren't cheap (regular vanilla latte was about $6.50) but it was a great place to sit & chat awhile! read more
