Ordered the avo toast w/egg (already had coffee, so didn't try any there) at the counter inside, then sat outside. There is a water station inside. Ordering was easy and all the staff there were very polite and friendly! This is such a cute hidden gem coffee shop! So glad this is a great addition to the city of Menifee! Sooo much better than going to a chain coffee shop especially the one on every corner with a green mermaid!!! I had this place on my to do list for a while now and I finally decided to stop in with a friend for coffee and lunch. It's not a big place but it was busy! The line went by quickly and I saw so many people eating food that looked really good. It was hard to make a choice but I decided on the vintage turkey panini with tomato soup, while my friend ordered the avocado toast. It was a nice day so we sat outside on one of the few tables. Decided to try this spot with my wife , we had the oaxacan sandwich with chorizo , a big serving with a jalapeno on the side ,came with queso fresco quesillo lettuce beans strings of chicken, it was amazing, the wife tried turkey panini and it didn't disappoint, turkey avocado cheese roasted peppers arugula , and also was amazing for the drinks we had iced mazapan and the flavor was really good and not to sugary, the wife had a pistachio white latte and also said it was good and not to strong, we ended with a scone pistachio flavor and it was delicious and soft with a lot of flavor. After a year of visiting Cafe Mercato, I'm so happy to see how popular it's become. I've now tried most of the well-known cafés in the area, and this one is still in my top favorites. I've even featured them on my TikTok because their coffee is often perfectly brewed. It's one of my go-to spots when friends visit--I always bring them here for coffee and food because it's such a cozy and delicious place to relax. My personal favorites are the Mazapán Frappé, the horchata, and the iced chocolate Oaxaqueño. They're all so good and feel unique compared to typical café drinks. I'll be honest--occasionally the coffee frappés can be a little inconsistent (sometimes more ice means a slightly watered-down flavor), but this doesn't happen often, and I definitely have my favorite barista who always gets it just right. As for the food, I've tried quite a few items and the Bella Panini with the tomato soup is AMAZING. Seriously--the tomato soup is fire. I used to be someone who didn't like tomato soup at all, but theirs completely changed my mind. It's not overly creamy and it's seasoned in a way that makes it less acidic and really flavorful. (Edit : Tomato soup had no flavor today April 20th hopefully just a hiccup ) Their pastries are also very good! The danishes are buttery and soft and always taste fresh. Honestly, if you're still going to Starbucks or Coffee Bean instead of trying Cafe Mercato, you're missing out. How did I NOT know this place existed?! I've been on a mission to avoid the "coffee with a side of drive-thru chaos" from big chain spots, and somehow this hidden gem was right here the whole time. (I'm new in the area) Had a little mom + son coffee date at Cafe Mercato and honestly... 10/10 experience. I got a coffee so big it looked like it came with a gym membership, and my son was living his best life with the perfect hot chocolate. Everybody won. The pastries are delicious, can't go wrong with the nutty chocolate chip cookie or s'mores bar. The granola parfait is good, and a serving that is shareable for sure. Hubby likes the chorizo breakfast sandwich. Everything is fresh! The service is ALWAYS so good here. The young men working here are polite, professional and friendly. Located in the 'Menifee Town Center' right off the 215 FWY, on Antelope and Newport Roads near Ralph's with plenty of parking. Besides specialty coffee and tea, they serve lemonade, freshly baked pastries, salads, panini sandwiches, and breakfast all day. First visit and I'm obsessed! I tried "La Chata" over ice, which is coffee with milk, horchata, and matcha. My cousin recommended this drink and I'm glad she did. It tasted perfect! Lady whoever you are, have some manners and tell him after not in front of the customer or just let the customer know instead of mumbling it in Spanish. Won't be going back just for this reason. I called to let them know, but the employee told me there was nothing he could do. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told he did not want to speak with me. The service was so sweet and accommodating but in a genuine and gentle way. They have a quaint setup indoor and outdoor so it was nice to enjoy our hot and cold foods outside. We ordered freshly blended and squeezed strawberry lemonade and strawberry banana smoothie. I loved the fact that it tasted like fresh fruit not just syrup mixed with milk or water. The smoothie had a more banana flavor in case you're wondering. I loved it. For mains my friend got a vodka pasta dish and I got the mercato panini. Both were an excellent balance of flavors nothing too salty or overwhelming. I loved the little panini grilled breadsticks she got with her pasta. Made for a good dipping in the sauce. I absolutely loved the tomato soup my panini came with. I've never had the soup and sandwich combo before and I liked the texture of the tomato soup in that it had no chunks and was smooth. Their portions are super generous for the price as well. Lastly for dessert we tried their tiramisu and 2 shortbread sandwich cookies. I forgot the official name for them but one had a caramel and coconut filling and the other was pistachio. Both were amazing. And the tiramisu was a giant slab. Metal spoons made it yummier I swear. Business partner selected the Mercato chicken panini with carrot soup. She had the vintage turkey pannini not spicy, mine Italian club. Enjoy being able to taste the ingredients and the combination works well in their sandwiches. We all enjoyed the food and service attentive. I have not been there in months. I used to order my drinks online with an average of 15-25 minutes early and 80% of the time drinks weren't ready...I loved this place, but I feel the owners weren't very caring of their regulars. I would go easily 2 times a week. Being a regular I thought the owner would be happy to have a regular come, bring students but that didn't happen. I would get my late drinks with no im sorry, we apologize...I was told one time to order earlier. I didnt realize ordering around 710am was too late for a 730-745 pick up. As a small local business I felt the owner could have been nicer to her regulars. I could tell she just didn't care. They do take a long time which is why I took advantage of online ordering. They also have a minimum on ordering so I would have to order more just to online order. What a joke. Ive been here 3 times and after each one I hoped for some improvement. Their sandwiches are basically two thick slices of bread and a sliver of whatever protein you order. I got mine with oat milk and I highly recommend it, it isn't too sweet and the espresso isn't too smoky/burnt in flavor -- it's smooth. Hubby got a white mocha w an added pump of vanilla and it's a little too sweet for my liking but he liked it! All their pastries, I'm assuming are homemade which I appreciate - makes the price that much worth it. I got the coffee cake and absolutely loved it. Super fresh and fluffy.
