Response to Comment: No rugs were taken out of the house and shaken, unless it was a small shower mat. 5 hours into it, what choice did we have? Tell them to go and leave the house half done with guests coming the following day? I was clear with the size of the house, garage apt and number of bedroom/bathroom. There was never any indication from you it would take 11 hours. I will say this, both ladies were smiling and pleasant the whole time. I'm not annoyed at the ladies or their work. I scheduled a last minute move-out cleaning for my apartment. Long story short, I got food poisoning and my move got behind schedule. I needed to find a way to get my apartment cleaned so I could get my deposit back. Despite the short notice, Better Choice Cleaning responded quickly and set up a time. They did such a good job cleaning my apartment that it had neatly looked better when I left than when I had moved in. In the future, I am going to leave the cleaning to the professionals. Absolutely the best carpet cleaning company I've ever used! A few days prior to the scheduled appointment I needed to reschedule and they were very accommodating. The technician who arrived was very friendly, even showing concern for our elderly dog who was terrified of the vacuum. My carpets look a million times better; I'm very pleased with the job and would hire these guys again in a heartbeat. *As an aside, I was having a plumbing issue unrelated to my carpet cleaning and these guys helped me to diagnose the issue and even vacuumed out water from my clogged sink! We hired the cleaning service based on Rolando's professionalism and promise to deliver a high quality clean from top to bottom. Rolando walked my house and pointed out all the corners and baseboards that were dusty. He said my regular cleaning lady was missing those spots and his crew would never miss it. Months after he walked my house, I decided to hire his company. He sent over 2 ladies that didn't speak any English, whatsoever! Plus, he wasn't there to go over the job and expectations set at the initial walk thru. I was tied up with my 2 month old baby so my husband had to go over what we wanted. We left the house to give them free reign to clean. We returned 2.5 hours later to a house that smelled like damp, dirty rags! The only thing that looked cleaned were the floors. And that's bc I gave them the refinisher product to use. $175 for 3 hours of work, a house smelling like dirty rags and inconvenience of showing how/where to clean the house is absurd!!!! I would rather have my regular maid miss spots than hire this company. They don't even clean. They wipe down your house with a dirty rags. Note: my house is very neat, 2 bed, 2.5 bath, and around 1600 sq. ft. Top to bottom clean for $175 is absolutely insane. read more

One of the girls cleaned our new stainless steel cook top with an abrasive pad and ruined the finish. She was bearing down with the pad making deep scratches even though the cook top was pretty clean to start with. I sent a picture to Rolando asking if he knew how to remove the scratches. He said "Let me send this to the office.. We'll keep in touch". That was Nov 20th. I never heard back from him. No type of resolution was offered. We're obviously very disappointed and will not use Better Choice Cleaning again. UPDATE: Rolando followed up with me and although there is nothing that can be done about the scratches in the stainless, he came back out and cleaned the carpet, free of charge. He even offered to do it again free of charge later on. I appreciate the effort he has made to make this right. read more

We hired Better Choice to clean and seal our slate kitchen floor. My husband oversaw this project so unfortunately I didn't see anything except the finished product. First of all, the floor did not look all that clean - I could still see stains and spots on the slate, but it was completely sealed at that point so the spots were sealed in. I can't completely blame them for this because when slate is wet you can't see the stains all that well, but when it's dry you can definitely see them. Second, the floor was very shiny. The sealer they put down was a high-gloss water-based lacquer that becomes very slippery when wet - and you can imagine what an issue that would cause in a wet area like the kitchen and mud room. The worst part is, the floor was so shiny that you can't even tell that it's wet. Everyone in the house including our dogs nearly cracked their head open multiple times over the course of a month as we were trying to decide if we could live with it. Technically, as I learned later, it was not incorrect to put something like this down on the slate floor, but the guy doing the job (not Rolando, didn't get his name) should have known better since it's a wet area - after doing research I now know that there are other products for slate floors that seal it (for stain-proofing) without making it like an ice skating rink when it gets wet. My guess is that the guy performing the service was unaware of these products. Granted, we should have done research before, but we figured that they were the experts and they would know the best approach. My husband should have known there was an issue when the guy asked what kind of sealer we wanted - no options presented, just a point-blank question as if we were supposed to have a brand and type in mind. We called Rolando and he promised us that he would come back out there and make it right knowing that our issue was the floor being a safety hazard. Well, the same guy from the original job showed up, threw a couple drops of water on the floor, stepped on it with his shoe and said "that's not slippery". They ended up begrudgingly stripping the sealer off the floor and stating that the office wanted them to charge us but he wouldn't. I agree that this situation is not good all around - we paid for a service and weren't satisfied so we didn't want to pay extra to simply reverse it, and they did what they thought would work so they didn't want to pay either. I would've rated them higher if the interaction had been better at the end, especially considering that Rolando was very comforting over the phone (only reason they are getting 2 stars versus 1), but at the end of the day we will not be calling them again. read more

(didn't clean inside oven/dishwasher, didn't sweep patio, didn't clean off all baseboards/light switches) --Accidentally knocked the mirror off the dresser (didn't break mirror, though ripped screws from backboard) --Didn't have granite cleaner or stainless cleaner (I had them and asked her to use them, so it was fine, but other people with granite counters should take note, because not all cleaners should be used on granite!) After reading reviews about Rolando's carpet cleaning service, I decided to invite him over after getting a very affordable quote over the phone. We confirmed via text message after our phone conversation, and he even accommodated me with a later date after the family all got sick over the weekend. Stupid contagious colds! He arrived about 5 minutes early (perfect in my book), and introduced himself and his partner. After about 1.5 hours, they were done with my entire house (1500sqft, 3 bed, 2 bath). Hole-E-Crap. They did an amazing job! I paid Kiwi a couple years ago more than what I paid Rolando, and the results are so, so much better. He took the time to even answer some of my questions as I curiously asked about his equipment and how dirty the water would be (no, I didn't want to keep any for sentimental value). REVIEW UPDATE BELOW In spite of reading the reviews I was disappointed. We paid for a move - out cleaning and a carpet cleaning. We have a 31/2 bedroom 2 bath house that's one story. They didn't touch the majority of the window sills, they didn't clean the baseboards, and it seemed as if they did a surface level cleaning. The good thing about them was they responded quickly. When I texted Rolando to tell him what hadn't been done he said he would check with the people at the office to see what happened and get back to me. I never heard back from him. I was disappointed, I was really excited for them to come out. Review Update: Rolando contacted me and sent two amazing women back out. They cleaned the entire house AND saved my two dogs. We were in the process of loading our truck at a storage unit when it started raining. We let the dogs out before we left and then had to rush home to check on them. When we arrived we were told two got out but they went and got them. I was sooooooo grateful. Very considerate and our place looked immaculate.
