It's a small, personal place, and the owner, Kim, is warm and welcoming. She offers a variety of classes, from gentle (yin) to hatha to power yoga. The gentle yoga classes are great for people who are just getting into yoga and/or have injuries that have prevented them from trying yoga before. Kim and the other instructors are always very patient and make sure new people take their physical limitations into account when doing any of the positions. The instructors are very "hands on," and In all the classes, they go around and make sure we're doing the positions correctly so we get the most out of them. The classes are invigorating and often challenging (even the gentle ones), but they always end with shavasana--which is about 10 minutes of relaxation and (for those who can) meditation. I always leave feeling more relaxed, more energized, and more focused than when I came in. This is not a place for Type A people. Classes don't start exactly when they should, and sometimes they go over their 90-minute allotment. But if you want a yoga studio where the instructors and the students care about one another and care about creating great energy, I think you'll really love this place too.

I was disheartened to read one of the reviews left about Lisa. It could not be further from the…read moretruth. Originally, Lisa worked with me to build a yoga program within my community, which is roughly one hour away from Lisa's community. From the first moment we spoke, Lisa was fully committed and determined throughout the growing pains of building a new program. After one year, Lisa and I both arrived at the realization that the program would not be self sustaining. I asked Lisa if she would be interested in doing a private class for me once a week, which she was, and the fee was minimal considering her travel time and our time together. Lisa and I practiced together for roughly three years. Throughout that time, Lisa provided amazing guidance along my journey, and her teaching style is one that strips away any intimidation, and results in a deep trust. Lisa is very personable and so intelligent. I looked forward to the many interesting conversations we had as much as the practice itself. Anyone who is left feeling that 'you' are not the center of Lisa's practice is misguided. Yes, this is her business and livelihood so there is a financial component of the arrangement. That slice is the smallest piece of the pie. Jai

Her practice really concentrates on the spiritual aspect of yoga and it's ability to reduce stress...the only way I can explain it is that I leave each class with a little more respect for myself and my body. It's not a highly physical practice if that's what you're looking for.

I've taken 1 course so far, and I've signed up to take an add-on course, as well. You can't complete your certification here without walking away with a major sense of accomplishment. They make sure you are absolutely confident, competent, and covered in your Yoga journey. The entire staff will blow you away with their knowledge and kindness. I was under the guidance and instruction of Dr Paul Jerard, who never made me feel like a bother for asking a question. The same respect can be found throughout the organization. From the main phone line, to billing, to Dropbox submissions. Seriously, if you have ever wondered about doing an online Yoga course, start here. I don't think you could find another school that will offer as much as this one.

They provided very little guidance or support to help students prepare for the exams. I felt that students were not given a fair opportunity to succeed. Instead of receiving proper instruction, many of us struggled to pass the exams and were expected to enroll in another quarter and pay additional tuition to continue the program. This created the impression that keeping students enrolled and paying for additional quarters was prioritized over helping them successfully complete the training. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this yoga teacher training program.
