My first appointment was with a decent masseuse who is no longer at Restoration, but my kudos have to go to Lisa, the owner. In the past when I've told massage therapists that I prefer "firm" pressure they either continue as they were and ignore me or go way too hard. Lisa knew just what I wanted and she communicated with me through out our session to make sure I was feeling good and comfortable. The therapists at Restoration also check in with you before and after your session (both times when you're clothed and off the table) to see how you're doing and what you'd like/ how you felt the session went. They're still running their new client special, if you haven't gone there yet make an appointment before they stop running it, it's totally worth it.

The place is small and you are asked to take your shoes off upon entering, but that means you were right in the doorway while trying to get your shoes off and balance putting on slippers that they leave at the door. There's only two seats in the waiting area. There was no tea or anything else out like I have seen in other pictures but I was offered a water. Elana was my massage therapist and she was fantastic. A couple of issues was that the treatment rooms are extremely small is very little room to maneuver. Also, they must have had satellite radio on so the radio station kept going in and out which made for very awkward moments of complete silence in the room and during that time, you could hear other patrons talking, music from the Pilates, studio next-door, and traffic on the road. After about 10 minutes, she did ask if I wanted her to go get her phone so she could put on music in which I said yes-it was very hard to concentrate every time the music went off. I thought $140 for a 90 minute massage was an excellent price and she was great, but I'm not sure if I would return due to them having no amenities and the outside noise issues.

However, I really enjoy massages where I am left to my own thoughts so I can truly savor the relaxation. I liked the massage enough but I probably would still try others. And no, not because I am one of those serial discounted massage aficionados, but because I enjoy a more serene experience. Further, I doubt that I experienced the 90-minute massage, all told. Sure, I arrived about 5 minutes late (my bad), but on top of filling out a form, I had to sit through what felt like nearly 10 minutes of conversation.
