Coming from someone who's been working at a desk job for almost 5 years and back problems that run in the family, I had been wanting a massage for years yet never made it happen, but I'm glad I did. The woman at the front desk was friendly and I felt welcomed when I walked through the door. You fill out a form letting them know what kind of massage you want, i.e. what areas to focus on, where you don't want to he touched, etc. I worked with Ashley and she was very professional and made sure I felt comfortable. I asked that we just do upper body - back, shoulders, neck. I feel so relaxed right now that I wish I had booked a longer session! She was great. My wife and I have been going here for almost 5 years now. It is the only place in the area we get massages.

I hate to say it but this place has really gone down hill. :( There were so many things that added up to them losing a customer, it's disappointing. -They called me to see if I could come 15 min early, then saw me 10 min later than my original appt -While I was waiting I went to the restroom which is next to their supply closet and despite seeing me, they were gossiping about customers (I get it, we all complain about people, but not in front of other customers) -My added on microplaning session was much less than expected. I've had microplaning before and they did the whole face. This time she simply did the edges despite me telling her that I didn't care about the hair, I wanted the top layer removed from my entire face to help products penetrate into my skin better, particularly with my malasma -**I had an amazing facial with a chemical peel. While products were soaking in, she massed my arms and feet.**My friend whom I went with said the esthetician left the room while after the products were applied. No massage at all! (What?? And where is the consistency!?) -I paid for a 1-hour facial and 15 minute added on dermaplaning (per their website) but was out in 1 hour, so they cut my service short by 15 min. Same with my friend. We went back to the website and confirmed. Feeling jipped. -Afterwards I asked if I had sunscreen on, because I don't remember that being applied at the end. NOPE! She didn't put any on me! Isn't that what estheticians always tell us to do, yet you're sending me out post chemical peel without sunscreen? My friend was standing next to me and they didn't confirm with her if she had sunscreen on- which she didn't. Where is the service? -Also, there was no water offered or around. Ok fine, but they used to give everyone a little bottle of water at the end. There wasn't even a water fountain in the waiting room (honestly, in a spa, I kind of expect there to be water and tea while you relax and wait) -My follow up survey had my name spelled incorrectly, despite me writing it down on my medical form. I know this is tiny, but it's my name and you have it in front of you. So they typed it into the system wrong. sigh. I have to be honest, I would have never come here if my boss hadn't gotten me a gift certificate - but boy, am I sure glad he did! I see why he comes all the time!! The spa itself is perfect! It's a very modern spa with an edgy appeal, but still maintains a perfectly relaxing atmosphere! I always hate when spas are too stuffy or rigid! Also worth noting, the facial room had ample space - I didn't feel like she was trying to squeeze her way around me! I just finished a facial with Alecia that was incredible! I had my qualms when she mentioned that they didn't use steam, and instead hot towels - but I actually liked it WAY better! My favorite thing was that she really took time with me. I didn't feel like she was rushing or cutting corners (I know some of us have been there before)! In particular, she spent a good deal of time on the massage part which is my favorite! So many people rush through this part, but I really felt like she took the time to make sure that I was truly enjoying the experience! Love this place!! Have had massages and organic facials from Melanie who's amazing with her technique!! Recently I enjoyed the skill of Justine with a deep tissue massage! I've been battling a bad shoulder for over a year. Had the surgery to repair it, but it still wasn't right. Justine found all kinds of knots and scar tissue along my scapula. I was apprehensive trying a new massage therapist....Justine. But she was able to bring my right side shoulder back to life!! I'd had surgery on my right side rotor cuff and bicep, and was unable to get the flexibility I had prior to the procedure. The physical therapist and surgeon insisted that the physical therapy would bring my flexibility back. I wasn't happy with my recuperation so I thought I'd try a massage. Justine worked miracles on me!!! With 60 minutes of deep tissue massage I was again able to get my arm halfway behind my back...again. I've been going here for a couple years. And in the last year I've been going every three weeks on the dot. I LOVED this place. Recently though my feelings started to change slightly, then it kept going down hill. This review is completely for the facials. My massages are amazing and I haven't had a bad massage there! For about a month now, Melanie's recently raised their prices slightly, no big deal I kind of saw it coming. But you pay what you get for, and with a slight increase in price, I should have noticed a slight increase in service, not the case. I would saw my past three or so facials, I've been leaving unhappy. I totally understand that during a facial, some products have to sit for some time, and I totally understand that with facials, the person has to take their hands off of my to wash their hands or change products. But when I'm doing a 45 minute treatment and for at least 15 minutes I'm not being touched, that's a total waste of my time. I'm paying for a service, and for the whole time amount of that service. When the product is sitting I should be getting a hand massage or a should rub, whatever something!! Because I'm paying for that, I'm not paying to sit there for 15 minutes with nothing happening to me. Also I can hear the girl TYPING on her phone. So instead of providing excellent service, while the product sits on me, they're on their phone texting or playing a game. After this happens three times, I cancelled the rest of my appointments(I make them months in advance), and I'm going to somewhere that I actually get what I pay for. Unfortunate because again their massages are awesome. But I think the people doing the facials got lazy. read more

Bought a living social for Melanie's Day Spa, for a massage. Samantha was my massage therapist. It was the BEST massage I have ever received. The spa is beautiful and all new inside. I filled out the client forms when I arrived and I liked how the questions were about ME and what I wanted out of the massage. I have a rotator cuff injury and sciatica. Samantha focused on those areas and it hurt so good (if you have pain, you know what I mean). I left there totally relaxed, but also pain free. It was over a 40 minute drive for me, but I am going to go back once a month to Samantha to keep my pain in check.
