Recently visited Fowling Warehouse for a work team building event. I had no idea what to expect…read more Parking was a bit of a mystery. There was a sign in front of the business pointing you to turn down a steer for parking; next block there is a huge parking lot but no signs saying you can park there for fowling, BUT, it was abundantly marked that cars will be towed. Since there was nothing else around, I assumed it was the right place and parked. Of course I briskly walked to fowling to inquire if I was in the correct space. I was, whew. Those towers can really work fast. Fowling is in a warehouse with other businesses, hence the name. It is huge. We were on lane 32, I believe so there's at least 32 lanes. There is also a corn hole area. There is a bar where they have a decent variety of adult beverages. I went with 3 Floyd's warpig, a hazy ipa. It was really good. The important aspect of fowling is not eating or drinking there, but to interact with the people your with. Sure you can win a game, but the fun is the game itself and the camaraderie with a drink. Our leader looked up the rules prior and explained them. You take turns throwing a football at bowling pins, one set of pins on each end of the lane. There are two lines to throw from, our group guys threw from back and women from front. I watched a group next to us, both men and women threw from front line, it didn't appear to give anyone an advantage. I don't know if the pizza place is part of fowling or a separate business, but we got pizza from Bonk Pizza. It was ok, it was enough to say we were fed. I'm glad I did this and would go again.

Fowling (noun) fowl-ing: The hunting or trapping of wildfowl…read more Google "fowling definition" and this is what you'll find. Google simply "fowling" and you learn about this odd sport where you combine football and bowling. Just now. Right NOW as I'm writing this, the word fowling finally made (sort of) sense. Football + bowling = fowling. Now I'm even pronouncing the word different with a long "o" sound versus the "ou" diphthong. I had to Google that, too, but once I saw diphthong, I knew it was going in my review. You're welcome for the 5th grade grammar lesson. Please redeem your Pizza Hut personal pan pizza for your hard work. Ok, fowling. It has nothing to do with trapping birds or teaching birds of prey to land on your arm (that's falconry). Nope, it's a game you play with friends and beer. The setup is more like cornhole, but you use bowling pins and throw, that's right, a football. Someone was clearly drunk when this game was invented. But what a great way to bring a group of people together! The Fowling Warehouse specializes in the game of fowling, but has several other activities to enjoy as a group: pool, darts, a few arcade games and a golf simulator. I may go back just for the golf simulator. This is the real deal, a full Trackman set up. It was pretty sweet. Those simulators can be a little intimidating at the PGA Superstore, but it's tucked away in the corner at the Fowling Warehouse where you can shank balls and not feel like a fool. Mostly. There are also two bars and you can order pizza and boneless wings. The bar has a nice selection of beers on tap. They use the magnet cup system where the cup fills from the bottom. My favorite thing was seeing multiple signs on the bar that warn you that if you push the bottom of the cup, you will get wet! And I smiled devilishly thinking about curious people testing their luck with the cups and losing every time. For me, I enjoyed a couple glasses of this blood orange IPA. Delicious and refreshing. The Fowling Warehouse isn't exactly my jam, but I think it's the kind of place that is perfect for a certain crowd who enjoys games and likes a new challenge. And they can handle a large party! If you are looking to try a new sport that feels like it was invented by someone who lost a bet, this place is for you! I kid, but the Warehouse is nice and clean and large! The service was good and everyone seemed to have a great time. Seems like a pretty good spot for your next party if games are your thing! Please note: No birds were injured during the writing of this review.

If you're looking for a place where you can easily lose track of time (in the best way possible),…read morePins Mechanical is it. This isn't just a bar with a few games tucked in the corner--it's an entire experience. Everywhere you turn there's something to do. Whether you're feeling competitive or just want to laugh with friends, you'll find duckpin bowling, bocce ball, pinball machines for days, patio pong (think giant beer pong), ping pong, foosball, billiards, and one of my personal favorites... Hookie, a surprisingly addicting ring toss game that had us saying, "One more round..." more times than I'd like to admit. One thing I really appreciate is that the atmosphere works for just about everyone. You can come for date night, celebrate with a group, bring coworkers, or just grab a drink and wander around trying games you've never played before. It somehow feels energetic without being overwhelming. The upstairs patio is a hidden gem. There's plenty of seating, colorful décor, and a fire pit that makes it a great place to take a break before heading back inside. (I still miss the adult swings they used to have--they were ridiculously fun... although I can also understand why swinging and cocktails may not have been the safest long-term business decision. ) There are several bars throughout the building, so grabbing a drink is easy, and yes... they serve Jell-O shots if that's your thing. They don't serve food, but that's honestly not an issue because you're welcome to bring your own in. We grabbed food from The Garage next door, and it paired perfectly with an afternoon of games. A few tips: * Don't skip the upstairs. * Try Hookie at least once. * Wander around before settling on one activity--you'll probably discover something you didn't know was there. * Plan on staying longer than you expected. This is one of those rare places where the atmosphere is just as entertaining as the games themselves. Whether it's your first visit or your tenth, it's hard to walk out without saying, "We should come back."

The pins are on strings and the balls are hand sized. We had two lanes and a dedicated server to come take food and drink orders. She was speedy and very attentive. I had the mocktails and they were tasty but just a bit too sweet. The bartender was able to pour over ice and top with soda water which helped. Along with bowling they have pinball, jenga, cornhole, and other yard games. It really started picking up and getting busy around 7:30-8pm.

The experience starts as soon as you board an elevator that is probably close to 100 years old. When you step out to the venue, it's like you are in the 1930s. Everything here I was told is from original alleys that were rescued. The staff and service were great. Everyone was friendly and super knowledgeable. The bowling took some time to get used to. The staff was helpful for the kids and let them know they could bowl from further down the lane. Since all of the lanes are original, there are a few issues. One lanes ball return system stopped working while there. Another likes to shoot balls onto the lane. The lane I was on, 2, had a pin that you would knock down but when it reset for the second or third attempt, every time it was back. Overall it was still a fun time. We had pizza, wings and cookies. The pizza was pretty good, nothing fancy. The wings had some spice to them and had the sauce got everywhere with its color. The cookie I had was one of the best I've had. Better than Crumbl. Fun and unique place for an event.

They have lots to do so everyone in your family can do their favorite activity!…read more We had a group of 4 adults and started with putt putt. It is upstairs so those unable to climb stairs may not be able to participate. It was 9 holes of black light ,dark, dinosaur themed fun. You can tell that it's a little outdated as there were lots of pieces broke and the air was one of them, so hot!! We then went into the bar for some drinks to cool down and a couple appetizers. Pretzel bites with nacho cheese and fried pickles. Both were good. The pretzel bites were so greasy that the cheese kept sliding off though. In the area they have axe throwing and table top connect four. Then we bowled. $50/hour/lane. That was a lot of fun! There are robots who bring your food to your lanes - all while jamming to the beach boys surfing USA - which was neat and terrifying at the same time, ha! They have an arcade but we didn't try that out. Plenty of parking and restrooms. Would recommend!

I wish they offered more deals or coupons.

It's a very small bowling alley and the parking lot looked full, but we took our chances and thankfully we did. The worker told us there was a very long wait, but since we only had 4 people, he said he would move us up the line, and we were able to get a lane right away (we felt very lucky). We have member cards, but since it was so busy, there was no discount on this day. This day was very crowded inside, but we did get a table close to our lane that had 4 seats, perfect for us. These lanes seem smaller than other bowling alleys, and the pins are on strings. The workers put the names in for you, unlike other bowling alleys we have been too. We had the choice of bowling for 1 hour or 1.5 hours, and we chose 1.5 hours. The cost for 1.5 hours of bowling time and shoes for four was $91. Even with the business, they had balls available to use. We were able to bowl two full games to completion in this time. They have food and drinks for sale. My husband purchased a tall mango cart can for $5. They have a machine to purchase songs, so music is played in the building. We enjoyed our time!
