Appetizers - pretty yummy WTF roll - 9/10 had dried Wagyu which made it more savory, rice is chewy (in between sushi rice and sticky rice) could be a little less rice; the potato threads were crispy and yum Wagyu Perogi - 7.5/10 was good, but not as meat focused as I was hoping, filling was very soft but I like the pasta dough (had some chew) Entrees were cooked well, I think the flavors were straightforward and not too complex. Chicken Wellington - the pastry dough was as buttery as biscuits. Sauce had dates and the dish was on the sweeter side (I prefer more savory entrees so this was not my taste) My partner ordered this and he loved it Miso Black Cod Fish was done well and not dry. Broth was a bit one dimensional to me. I thought my soba noodles were gonna be the brown ones but they were thicker like ramen white noodles The herbs really captured the pho broth well. The Easter Brunch Buffet at Aberdeen Social House is a "must" for those seeking an "elevated" holiday experience. We visited on Sunday for Easter brunch - a group of 4, reservations for 11:30. I was a little surprised when we arrived that it was buffet style because we didn't see it on their website/ig at the time we made the reservation. That being said, the food selection was diverse and delicious. Everyone enjoyed the spread - the chicken tenders and chorizo gravy were a big hit at our table. I personally really enjoyed the vegetarian quiche. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and spacious. A great place if you prefer a more elevated feel or want to celebrate something. Our server (Ahkena, I believe) was so amiable and welcoming. She checked on us often and was well-prepared to answer all of our questions. We have gone here twice for lunch and it's a great atmosphere and the food options are good. My husband also rented out the patio area for a company event and the service and team were great. This second time I got the avocado toast with no mushroom it didn't seem to be the same. They only put avocado slices on top and I thought last time was smashed (like avocado toast should be). This place has never been busy the 2 Sundays we have gone for brunch so hopefully it's busier other times to be able to sustain. read more

This was a bourbon reconnaissance mission, so no real food was ordered, just drinks. Aberdeen Social House has excellent bourbon offerings, including some hard to find bottles. They even have a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle! But I'm not sure if that's just for display, or if you can actually get a little taste of that one. I didn't see it on the menu. We sat at the bar, and even though we visited on a very busy night, we were well taken care of. We got a Rootstock Manhattan (Rootstock barrel select rye, sweet vermouth, angostura bitters) and an Old Fashioned. On the menu, it says that the Old Fashioned is made according to the bartender's whim, so I let go and let God. My Old Fashioned was great and well balanced (my bartender had great whims), and came with a little twist of orange rind and a maraschino cherry. My Old Fashioned was delicious, but I didn't feel like I was living quite deliciously enough. So I ordered a dessert: the banana cream pie. The name is a little deceptive, though. It's more like a banana cream tart, because it's piles of banana custard, banana slices and whipped cream in a tart shell. It's topped with popping boba (fun!) and bourbon caramel. It was incredibly delicious, but the crust/shell was tough and required stabbing into it with a knife. This is a nice place to get a lil' drink. You can dress up or dress down -- there were all kinds of people here. I'd like to come back to experience more of their food menu. read more

Came back for brunch! I've only had a handful of apps off their dinner menu, but was told by the staff to be sure to come back for brunch and that's exactly what I did. A group of girlfriends and I came in on a Friday a little before 1pm to an almost empty restaurant. It was right after Christmas, so I was a bit shocked. Walking into Aberdeen Social House, I was immediately struck by the chic, modern vibe. The ambiance is definitely one of the restaurant's strong points-- it's got a classy yet comfortable feel that makes you want to settle into a booth and enjoy a nice conversation. However, while the atmosphere was almost a 5 star experience, the rest of the evening didn't quite match up. Our server was kind and polite, but she seemed pretty flustered and kept apologizing for little missteps--like forgetting plates, not refilling water, and just generally feeling a bit off her game. So I'd give the service around 3 stars. As for the food, it looked good on the plate, but the flavors just didn't deliver for the price. My steak needed seasoning, the fries weren't hot, and even the deviled eggs felt a bit overpriced for what they were. My wife was very excited to try the banana cream pie, but was disappointed when it came out and was more of a tart with a lot of whipped cream. So I'd say the food is a 3.5 based on solid creativity and presentation, but lack of flavor. In the end, if you're looking for a place with a fantastic atmosphere to grab a drink and enjoy the vibe, Aberdeen Social House nails that. But if you're going for a memorable meal, you might want to hold off until they get a bit more consistency in the kitchen and the service. I finally made it to Aberdeen Social House for dinner tonight and it was well worth the wait! This had to be the most incredible dining experience I have had in a long time. The food and service were flawless and absolutely impeccable. The restaurant has an incredible ambiance with a beautiful bar area and a nice wine cellar display in the front of the restaurant. My friend and I came to dinner and we were very impressed as soon as we walked into Aberdeen Social House by the ambiance and the beautiful wine wall on one side of the main dining room. Our server, Arthur, greeted us with a warm greeting and smile, and took very good care of us throughout the entire evening. Arthur was a first class professional and did an exceptional job with customer service. We were very pleased with how Arthur made us feel welcomed at Aberdeen Social House. We were also impressed with how the owners and the GM came by our table to check on us and made sure everything was Ok with the food and service. Now to the food. The food was excellent and probably the most amazing food I have put in my mouth in a long time. We tried a couple appetizers - the smoked salmon deviled eggs and the chorizo empanadas. Both appetizers were very fresh and exquisite. The taste was nothing like I have ever tasted before. It is hard to describe, but it was pure heaven. I ordered the smoked short rib entree with a side of truffle Mac and cheese. My friend ordered the pot roast chef main entree. My friend loved the pot roast and melted in her mouth. I did try it as well and it was like fireworks went off in my mouth because it was sooo good. However, the smoked short rib entree and truffle Mac and cheese are above and beyond fantastic! The smoked short rib entree was served in a broth of bok choy and other vegetables and practically melted in my mouth with every bite I took of the smoked short rib. The truffle Mac and cheese was the same. It was very impressive and incredibly full of flavor. The smoked short rib had a wonderful combination of flavors as well and cooked to perfection. Every bite just kept getting better and better. To end the evening, we shared the carrot cake dessert which was absolutely delicious. The carrot cake was huge and the biggest slice I have seen in my life. We took a bite of the cake and we both agreed or was the best carrot cake we have ever had in our lives. It was prepared with love and pure delight. Aberdeen Social House is my new #1 favorite restaurant in Indy. From beginning to end, everything was awesome and amazing. The most breathtaking dining experience!! Granted, this is an expensive restaurant, but it is worth the price of admission. You will definitely get your money's worth at Aberdeen Social House and leave feeling happy and satisfied. I cannot wait to come back again and try their brunch menu! We went to Aberdeen Social House for Valentine's Day and had such a memorable experience. It was a busy evening, but the atmosphere felt festive and lively. We were seated on the decorated patio and enjoyed sitting at the bar while we waited, starting the night with the house Old Fashioned. We ordered the bao buns as an appetizer and they were a great way to kick off the meal. For our entrées, we were both thoroughly impressed. The chicken Wellington was wrapped in a perfectly flaky, delicious puff pastry, and the smoked short rib was so incredibly tender that it fell right off the bone and practically melted in my mouth. I paired my dinner with a glass of Malbec, which complemented everything nicely. We couldn't leave without dessert and took home a slice of carrot cake that absolutely knocked my socks off. The coconut cream cheese frosting was divine and easily one of the highlights of the night. Even with the Valentine's Day rush, the evening felt special, and the food truly stood out. When we walked in we were greeted by the host and asked if we wanted to have our coats checked. Very nice they have a coat check so you do not have to worry about it. We were immediately taken away by the asthetic of the inside. Felt very romantic and intimate. Highly recommend the waygu perrogis. They were paired well with the sauce and toppings. My husband loved his old fashion and I loved my Yacht Rock. The Yacht Rock was very tasty and not too sweet. The chicken Milanese was magnificent. The steak frites were very good but not enough steak for the price. The truffle Mac n cheese paired well with the steak. I wanted an espresso martini to pair with dessert but did not want a whole one. I asked if they could spit one between my husband and I, and they did! They were put in these cute tiny espresso martini glasses. Also that is the best espresso martini I have ever had! We got the smores dessert which was on their special menu and it was delightful. Had a nice, celebratory brunch for my friend's birthday. The weather was gorgeous so we sat out on the patio. It was a beautiful outdoor space. We all ordered a round of mimosas. Okay, tried again with Aberdeen. The first time was amazing and so here we are again. Decided last minute to go to Aberdeen since it opened around the corner from our home. Generally when we go in during the week, it is not crowded, but it feels like there are many regulars. Service is always amazing and we feel very welcome coming in. This place had only been open a few weeks when we went so my review is unfortunately very delayed! It's in a great location with its own parking lot right off of w. 96th st. and Meridian. My friend and I went for a restaurant week on a random weekday at six and it wasn't crowded at all. I'm not sure what restaurant it used to be but it's much larger on the inside than what it looks like from the outside. The staff was super welcoming and the Devour menu choices were top notch. It was a ton of food. Definitely full portion sizes which you don't always get any more. All of the appetizers we're great. My corn chowder was a full bowl and quite tasty. The fried chicken came with a super creamy white gravy and creamy mashed potatoes. It was enormous and super moist. It was the breast and thigh breaded as one large piece. My girlfriend's salmon was good and she really enjoyed the deviled eggs. Everything that we had, I would get again. I can't remember what drink I had, but I know that it had pear liqueur in it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait to back and try more menu items. read more

The onion soup was not like I've had anywhere else. I like the real cheesy style. Here the soup has a foam cheese topping. Not bad but not to my liking. The sandwich is decadent! I believe there was one other group of guests in the restaurant when we arrived. We were greeted warmly as John rushed over to open the door for us. He ended up being our server as well. He knew the menu inside and out and had lots of great information for us regarding where the meats were sourced from, the lightness or heaviness of the wines, and he made suggestions based on which entrees he enjoyed himself. All of this was greatly appreciated. Because we were running short on time, we chose to order appetizers and drinks. I had the espresso martini and my friend stuck to bubbles. We were both celebrating recent birthdays and were given complimentary glasses of champagne. That was a very classy touch! My friend ordered the Waygu Pierogi and I had the Chorizo Empanadas. Believe me when I say that nearly everything on the menu sounds amazing. I will definitely be back to try the lasagna. The food tasted great. Tried this brand new spot out last night. It's in the old Granite City Brewing. They have completely redone the inside, it's been stepped up quite a bit. The ambiance is mildly upscale. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Cocktails were well balanced. There was a typo on the menu that led me to believe they had some whiskey that they did not have. I noticed a few other typos on the menu. The food was pretty good. Some flavor profiles may need some time to be worked out, but all in all, we enjoyed our time and our meal. read more

The decor and the ambiance were great. The plating and appearance of the food was also excellent, but the food itself wasn't good. It was clear the quality of the ingredients was very high. So why the bad review? I ordered the blue & Bibb salad, which ended up being Bibb lettuce layered with an absurd volume of blue cheese dressing. So much dressing that the lettuce was wilted and gross. It needed about 3/4 less dressing. Someone else at my table ordered another salad with far too much blue cheese in a chicken stacked on his plate and a side of dressing that had far too much dill. Another friend had the French onion soup, and he said the bread was so chewy it was hard to eat. Wow! What a fantastic new restaurant in Indianapolis! The atmosphere feels "fine dining, but cozy". Picture secluded booths, comfy chairs at the bar and fabulous art. Drinks were innovative but tasty (which is nice as I often see one or the other). I enjoyed their take on an apple martini (delicious!), and we also tried a margarita ish drink and a gin cocktail. The food was outstanding- not a dish we didn't love. Starters included the seafood grits, a few salads and pork belly. The salads were quite large, and I could have made the seafood and grits my main course. For entrees we tried the wagyu tenderloins (outstanding- and the sauce was amazing), salmon (perfectly prepared and a large piece of fish), smoked short ribs (loved the smoky flavors), and the smashburger (which was one of the best burgers I've ever had - that drunken goat cheese was an excellent addition). Dessert consisted of carmel chocolate cake, banana cream pie and a pineapple upside down cake. We all agreed that the banana cream pie was the favorite- although I'm not gonna lie, the leftover cake was pretty epic with coffee the next morning! Started with bao buns that were not my favorite in Indy but still great, smoked salmon deviled eggs were the app to go with here. Corn chowder soup was off the charts. 6 out of 5.
