She is a wonderful wel-behaved kitten & a great addition to our family. We can tell that Charlotte was very well taken care of her 1st three months of her young life. This Rescue organization, especially Crystal, did an exceptional job of socializing our little girl, who we love very much!

I was able to adopt him and bring him home. The process was extremely easy! They brought me to the back room to have a meet & greet with him to see how we mesh. After I was 100% sure I wanted to adopt him, they went over his birthday and history with me. He was already neutered, microchipped, and had his first shot. They gave him one more shot before he came home with me. I had already filled out an adoption application online, so I didn't need to fill one out in person. My boyfriend and I decided to rename him to Milo! Milo was slowly introduced to my other cat named Momo. At first it was an adjustment, but to my surprise, it only took them 2 days to get acquainted with each other. I definitely got lucky there! Overall, I would recommend this rescue. Super nice staff, volunteers, and foster parents! :)

I guess there was a question about whether we rent or own our house. Mary and Bert had thought we rent the house where we live, but in fact we do own the house (we have one room that is rented out). They assumed we had lied on our application to avoid telling our "landlord" about the dog. WE DO NOT HAVE A LANDLORD!! I AM THE LANDLORD!!! instead of receiving a phone call from Mary and Bert to resolve the confusion like other animal shelters would, we were automatically dismissed. As professionals in their field as they claim, I expected them to act accordingly. It was the WORST experience I have ever had with an animal rescue center. I was not given the opportunity to clear up the confusion, and I felt very unappreciated trying to adopt a dog from them. They drew their own conclusions with the information from the application, without asking the applicant! it is completely unprofessional and arrogant. We happen to be great with animals, and have a mix dog of our own. We love dogs, and we are a great fit for taking in dogs that need a permanent home. This was a very disappointing experience.

We were particularly interested in a doberman puppy and they had a litter currently with them. They brought over 3 puppies and one teenage doberman and we had a massive play session. It was a great opportunity for them to do a home check, as well as see how the puppies feel about us. Mary and Bert were very structured and prepared. Their confidence and professionalism was much appreciated. We fell in love with one of the girls and we adopted her that night! They provided us with a useful packet of information, tips, and all the dog's records. It gave us confidence that their dogs are well taken care of. They still have two dobermans left that we met, Leonard and Robin. Robin is a teenager and Leonard is the brother of our wonderful girl. They were both incredibly sweet and I hope they find homes soon. Any negative reviews are probably stemmed from their strict rules and guidelines for finding the right family. Please understand that they are only looking after the dogs' best interests, ensuring they find forever homes. Give them some love and adopt!

We adopted our now 2 year old poodle mix, Jett (previously named Loki) from Pets & Pals in mid…read moreNovember. When we first arrived there, we noticed how peaceful the place was - none of the incessant barking that you encounter at the local shelter. Their grounds were well maintained. We were told the dogs are let out to run in the yard for 3 hours a day. Their website has a bio on each pet so you can read a background info on each one. Obviously when it's an owner surrender they have more information on the pet, less so if the pet was a stray. But even then, they observe them while at the shelter to give you an idea what to expect. Their system makes it easy to adopt. I recommend sending an application in to get approved first. Once you've been approved, just call to make an appointment to see a dog or cat that you would like to meet. They will hold the dog or cat for you until your appointment. This is different from local city shelters where you might see a dog or cat listed online but it might be gone by the time you get there. Their adoption fee ($350) is fair as my dog was already microchipped and his shots were updated, except for rabies. I was a bit surprised that he was released without updating his rabies. All in all, I would recommend PetsNPals to anyone looking to adopt. They definitely care about the pets and try to make their shelter stay as pleasant as possible. Please adopt, don't shop for a pet.

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and supported. Emily and Shelby were especially amazing. They were both so kind, patient, and genuinely helpful throughout the whole process. You can tell the staff truly prioritize the well being of the pets and want to match them with the right homes. Everything was organized, transparent, and efficient. I am so in love with my puppy and SO GREATFUL that I chose to adopt from here!! I highly recommend Valley Humane Society to anyone looking to add a furry family member. VHS goes to local county shelters and saves well-behaved cats and dogs that are about to be euthanized because of overcrowding. They have a medical clinic onsite that does a wellness check, and then their 200+ volunteer army steps in to foster and care for these cats and dogs, while permanent homes can be found. Our tour focused on the cat side of VHS. First we checked out the youngest kittens, which are kept in separate rooms, followed by Kitty City, which houses the remaining cats onsite (the rest are in foster homes). We met all the Catizens of Kitty City, including Mayor Big Bird, who has since been adopted, and several others with interesting personalities and histories, like Donna, Dealership, and Zombie (my favorite!). The animals are lovingly cared for, and the operations at VHS are well-organized (e.g. laundry area, kitchen and break rooms, etc.). Kitty City also includes an outdoor play area for cats, affectionately called "The Catio" !! Thank you, Valley Humane Society, for all that you do for our community.
