Jeff, the owner, spent so much time educating my 11 and 12 year old about each of their animals and showed them all the other cool critters he had in there. They left the store last week stoked about what they learned. Today they went back with their geckos to ask Jeff a few more questions. He was so kind and patient with them. He was great and was able to confirm the sex of one of the geckos to ensure it was safe to get them a friend. I've read all the bad reviews and I'm here to tell you we had the complete opposite experience! I will gladly come back to purchase from him ( even paying more) because of the customer service he provided! My kids are asking all the time if they can go see Jeff's shop! I highly recommend!

Yeah at times it may be darker then others but I go there once a week for my snakes food and Jeff does get to cleaning each enclosure. I actually love his personality because he's straight forward. Like I said I've had my concerns at times but over all he does take care of these reptiles/animals.

I've never given a bad review but.... I had been going to…read morePampered Pet in Tracy off and on since they opened with the dogs I have now and Barkley, my previous dog I had for over 14 years. Barkley got razor rash once & had a problem after his anal glads expressed long ago at Pampered Pet which resulted in vet visit both times, but other than those two episodes, I was satisfied and just wrote those two problems off as flukes until....I took my teacup Maltese there last September (2025). His first couple appointments were fine, but the last, he looked terrible, like a different dog. People who saw him afterwards thought it WAS a different dog, an old dog, not my cute little 9 month old Maltese. When I brought him in, I told Michelle I didn't want his face touched much at all, to leave his "mustache" and wanted his ear hair trimmed shorter, like a puppy. Well, they did the exact opposite; they left the ears long and SHAVED his face. He wasn't matted or anything. I paid the bill, including a $20 tip BEFORE they brought him out to me. I was in shock when they handed him to me. I left and on the drive home, I couldn't even look at him. But the more I did, the madder I got. When I got home, I immediately called Michelle and said, "you know I'm not one to complain and never have, but I was furious on the grooming job. That they did the exact opposite of what I asked and that he looked terrible." She said I could bring him back in and they'd trim his ears shorter, like I had asked, but the damage was done. I knew they couldn't glue his cute mustache and whiskers back on. All I saw when I looked at him was a dog that didn't look a thing like my cute 9 month old puppy that I had brought in. I told her I was too mad to bring him back in and I was just furious. She just said oh, okay. No offer of any compensation or anything. I had been a customer for over a decade. His fur, of course, has since grown back and he looks cute again. He is now a year and 5 months old and I take him to Muddy Paws on 10th Street now, where we have been extremely pleased AND they are a little less expensive and we've had much, much better experience every single time and much better cut than he ever had at Pampered Pet. Sorry, but it's the truth. I won't go back there. I don't know if there was miscommunication between Michelle and the groomer or what because I did tell Michelle the cut I wanted: face left alone, only cleaned up a little, leave his mustache/whiskers and trim the ears much shorter and the exact opposite was done. He was the first appointment of the day, maybe she was still half asleep, I don't know.

When it was time to put our (my husbands) 17 year old dog to sleep in the fall of 2003, we went there. We had been established patients at that point. I was VERY CLEAR with them that we wanted a private cremation with the ashes returned to us. This was after all, a beloved member of our family and my husbands' closest companion. During what was a very sad and difficult time, we found some solace in the fact that we would be able to "bring her home". Well, two weeks went by and I did not hear from them. I called them to ask when I could pick up the ashes and they said that they did not have ashes. It appeared that the veterinary technician did not pay attention and she was disposed of; no private cremation with no ashes. Words cannot express our sadness and disappointment. Then, after we had moved (several months later) one of our cats fell ill. We took him to a new vet, and requested that Old River fax over Max's records. They did. The new vet was surprised to see many red flags on Max's most recent blood work (anemia, for example) that we were (a) never alerted to and (b) were never treated. It was the opinion of the new vet that at least one of these clear (albeit ignored) problems contributed to Max's demise. We put Max down within a few hours. Legally, we had no recourse, and either will you when they kill your pet. Fortunately, our new vet has her shit together. At least we were able to get Max's ashes.

Once I finally was able to commit to a date, the correspondence I received from TPA was clear and helpful. I was told when to begin restricting food/water, what time to arrive, and the details of the check-in process. As directed, I arrived by 8am and notified office staff. I was quickly greeted by the vet tech, Jill, who was absolutely the best. Jill was warm, patient, and knowledgeable. She let me see where the procedure would be preformed and where Zero would be held, and explained when/why she would call (if blood work was concerning, if it wasn't safe to sedate, if they had suggested extractions). Despite being nervous, Jill definitely helped me feel better about leaving my boy in her care. Since his bloodwork was fine, the next time I heard from Jill was when she called to share suggested extractions. She briefly reviewed the dentition of a dog, explained where there were areas of concern in Zero's mouth, and was able to give me monetary figures when asked. She took time to consider my follow-up questions and I felt the interaction was professional while being empathetic and frank. At no time did I feel that she was trying to upsell me or otherwise get more money out of me. When I picked Zero up, Jill came out holding him. She sat with me and reviewed his bloodwork line by line, his X-rays, and showed me before and after pictures of his teeth. She also provided me with clearly labeled medications. We talked about food and general aftercare, including what I might observe, and I felt comfortable about heading home. We are now at the tail end of recovery and Zero has done fantastic, and I truly attribute a lot of that to Jill & her efforts. Thank you!
