She was excreting puss from her uterus and was clinging to life. When no other clinic in Sacramento would make time to see her, I reached out to Grantline Veterinary Hospital and despite being over an hour away and fully booked, they showed me compassion and agreed to see my dog. They did a round of X-rays on her, gave her subcutaneous fluids, antibiotics, and sound advice to de-stress her that you don't find online. That was Tuesday evening. I didn't really notice the difference until Wednesday night when she had a full 24 hours of antibiotics and I was able to relocate her pups to a certified whelper. She started eating again, vigorously at that. Her internal puss discharge decreased by 95%, and her energy levels went back to normal. Now not even 66 hours later, I have my old dog back! Really mixed reviews. 1st interaction was for a quote to bring my dog in because she chewed her butt raw. They were not the lowest priced but Sam showed genuine compassion for my pup. I brought her in They performed services and prescribed medication. When I paid, I felt very cared for by Sam and Dr. Aman. I had no issues. Easily perfect service, from them and the vet tech who did the work. 5/5* 1 month and 3 days later, I call this business back because I'd like to give them more business- that's what you do when you feel cared for. I'm not gonna bad mouth nobody, but whoever answered today completely turned me off from this place. Sam come train the weekend warrior. You don't tell the customer who states exactly what they want- which is a service you provide, that they have to jump through hoops to get it. DO NOT GO HERE. Recently this month, I called this Vet to request help for my cat since she was having trouble with using the bathroom and just sitting in her box for too long. The nurse who took my call immediately went into panic and demanded i bring my cat in right that moment. Very rude as well almost like she was talking down to me. Literally talking to me like Im in trouble. We bring my cat in and the nurse right away is condescending. Completely disrespectful. (I dont know her name, all i know is shes a heavier set lighter skinned *possibly* african american lady with short hair) First when checking in, she mentioned how we didnt give our cat her vaccines... but we did almost a year ago at that very hospital!! She kept insisting our cat needed vaccines and that our cat could have bladder crystals (which i am very familiar with). I mentioned how she goes pee just fine and she kept shutting me down. No comfort given just straight uptight disrespect. Then when the Dr. does an exam, all they do is give us the bill estimate and we decided on an xray with a urine sample. While waiting for our xrays, we hear the nurses laughing super loud in the back while they have our SICK CAT. Mind you she was very cold with us when all we wanted was just some comfort especially since our cat wasnt doing well, we were nervous. But STILL We hear laughing. And to top it off, they show us the xray, nothing else. The Dr. says it could be Colonitis but nothing to help with our cats discomfort. No advice at all. We just get sent to pay our bill up front with THAT nurse and wait for another call about her urine sample. AND TO MAKE IT BETTER it was almost impossible to hear back for our results from radiologists and for her urine sample. This should not have been so hard to call or email to give us the news we needed to hear to help our cat. Now all we have is just a voicemail and no other responses. No medication. No treatment plan. Botched Surgery, Unprofessional Management. Grantline Veterinary Hospital. 332 W Grant Line Rd, Tracy Ca. It was time for my dog (4yrs Old) to be neutered, understanding that one of his testicles was in his abdominal area. I took him in for a paid evaluation and everything was confirmed by a very kind Veterinarian (Taka). So we proceeded to go with the Surgery the next morning. After surgery, a different Veterinarian told us that he was born with one testicle. In other words, during the incision he discovered this. He also said, if by any chance a testicle does appear, to let him know and he'll take care of it. I was very unaware that this was a possibility before proceeding this surgery. I went back the next morning (Day after Surgery1) and demanded answers because I was in the Grey. My poor dog was sowed up worse than a voodoo doll. They folded his abdomen skin like a robe and sewed it together with his exterior skin rolled underneath the stitches. Almost as if he was used to be practiced on by a trainee. I was greeted by the young ladies that work there. They were very understanding, kind hearted people. I was very calm and explained the situation then greeted by the Original veterinarian who had examined my dog the first day, Dr. Taka. He was very compassionate about my dog. As he reevaluated him he noticed the stitching, he put his head down and said "I'm sorry I have to fix this." He also felt the testicle still remaining in his abdominal. He requested to leave my dog there again for another attempt to remove it. At this point I don't know who the professionals are because this is the first time I even owned a pet dog and had him fixed. Fearing that my dog wasn't going to be strong enough for a third surgery, I requested to talk to a manager, Mr. Singh. Unfortunately, he was unavailable and only passed msgs through his Workers. So I had to leave the dog there again. After the final surgery, performed by Dr. Taka, I picked up my pet. I was shown photos and told the Job was done. There was a much better stitching this time. Now, I wanted to talk business. Again, Singh, was unavailable and was only passing messages through his employees. I wanted to know how did this happen and why wasn't I addressed that there was a possibility the surgery could be redundant. What was the purpose of paying for an evaluation and having it done. I requested not to pay for it, or a portion of it because I wasn't expecting for so much negligence to be placed upon my little dog. I finally told Dr. Taka to tell his manager Singh to stop hiding behind the veterinarians over the phone and that I want to speak to him immediately. I needed answers, some kind of apology, furthermore some sort of Compensation to satisfy this horrible experience for myself and especially my pet. I received absolutely no contact from him and had to watch my dog closely for two days because he looked so traumatized and needed help eating. Finally two days later, I get a call from Singh. I was being so patient at this point, but as soon as he introduced himself he quickly escalated the civil situation into an ongoing argument on the phone. He raised his voice at me and accused me of trying to get a free surgery. He said there will be no discount or voucher because the surgery was a success and no there was no charge on the second surgery. (Yeah, the Surgery that wasn't supposed to happen was free.) What about the pain and suffering my little puppy had to go through because of the original failed surgery. He was very unprofessional, rude , inconsiderate, and unapologetic concerning the whole situation. On top of it all, he had the nerve to say that I was all about the money. I'm still trying to soak this in. All I can do now is share my story and hope this doesn't happen again to any else's pet. Note: I don't even know Who failed the first Surgery. They never charged me unnecessarily and always made Lemon their top concern. Lemon is scared of people and so it was very difficult for me to hand her over, but their kindness and gentle way with her was amazing. They told me how good she was with them and my heart melted. I should have listened to other posters about this place but cost was a factor in my decision. I had put off dental cleanings for my 3 lb Yorkie and felt terrible. No excuse is good but I had this fear of anesthesia from her reaction when she was spayed. I chose the more expensive option with an IV and was told shed be ready at noon after dropping her at 8am. I paid about $260. I was told if there were extractions it could be $20-$100 per tooth. At 1 I called and was pyt on hold for 8 minutes. I was seriously worried. They then informed me they had not even started. I was called again about 30 minute later and was told they needed to pull over 20 teeth or risk infection. It would be another $960. I asked why i had to pay to clean teeth they were pulling. I also asked for the teeth. When I picked her up they said I could not have the teeth yet that Monday a worker said they do allow people to have them. I really felt I had no choice to take her off anesthesia and subject her again. I have no proof they did what they said. I have no idea which teeth are gone and whish ones i paid the different prices for. My friend is a tech at Pacific Veterinary Hospital in Stockton. She agrees I was price gouged and taken advantage of. They do full mouth extractions for $500. They also give 20% veterans discount. FYI there are reasonably priced quality vets out there! read more

I took my cat here for an emergency visit after she had gotten into something that might have been poisonous outside. They charged me almost 200$ to tell me to just keep an eye on her. I see all the bad reviews for this place and I had one experience that I was not happy with but since then it has been very positive. In August 2021 we discovered that our 9 yr old Boxer was had a tumor. Another vet did the surgery and we never got any information on what type of tumor it was. I went to this other vet based on the reviews I saw however, when I called to get an appt because of some swelling after her meds were done, we couldn't get in. We were told it was probably fluid draining and would dissolve on its own. A week later we see that there were more concerns like swelling under her chin. We took her to Grantline Hosp and they took very good care of her. Everyone there really cared for her and us, especially when we realized there was nothing more we could do to make her better, it was cancer. We had her appt set but there was a moment at home where she stopped breathing and we asked if we could get her there asap. We were able to but the vet was not in yet, we just wanted her in a safe place should it happen again. I cannot express enough our gratitude for all they did. 2 surgeries and many tears later they were very supportive, compassionate and respectful. Healthcare field is very difficult anymore. Pet owners go into vet offices in an emotional state when the pet is ill, just remember these vet health professionals are human too and as hard as it is on the pet owner, it is the same for them when a belived pet of ours is lost. read more

I have been coming here for awhile and have had all my dogs ears cropped and more! Brought my dog here to get his ears cropped. Told the lady at front desk how I wanted them cut. While we waited for his ears to heel. We started to notice his ears were not cropped right. We called them back and told them what had happened. Showed them a picture of what his ears look like. And what they should look like. And instead of saying bring the dog back in and we will fix it. They wanted me to pay again. Why would I pay again for something they did wrong. I come here fairly regularly and they have always been courteous and professional, and from my experience, do not try to get me to buy extra stuff I don't need or do unnecessary procedures on my dogs. They have a shot clinic every Saturday and Sunday which is great and so cost effective - low prices and no office visit fee. I've been to other vets in the area that have tried to get me to do some extreme procedures (remove my dogs anal glands?!! which I researched and can cause more problems than help!) - they work with me here and don't try to push things down my throat. read more

I have been coming to the Grantline Veterinary Hospital for several years. They are always professional and very nice. My Lhaso Apso, Chip, had been going for many years. When he was getting to the end of his time I took him in and they agreed that it was his time. They told me to think about it. I couldn't do it and changed my mind and they were very understanding and told me that I should come back when I was ready. I did end up going back a few months later. My son and I took Chip in. The vet was very comforting and after she administered his shot she let me hold him for as long as I wanted to. They even sent me a card the following week with his paw print in it. Recently I had to take my ShihTzu, Lola in. She had a large growth on her ear and one on her shoulder. They did surgery that same night and stayed with her after hours until she was ready to come home. They called me two days later to follow up and see how she was doing. We made an appointment and waited 1 1/2 hours to get called inside to the room, once inside the veterinarian came inside unprepared and the tech had to come back in to take our puppies weight and call the doctor back in which took him another 20 min. The veterinarian looked like he had no confidence in what he was saying and the diagnosis when asked what he though was wrong with the puppy he responded I'm not sure could be many things and suggested all sorts of diagnostic test included x-Ray and x-ray with barium. He left the office then took more then 15 min to even come back inside to give us recommendations or medication at that point we just left before we cold come back in because he had no confidence in what he was saying and didn't seem like he knew what he was doing. We went to our regular vet at Afforable pet clinic and it took us total 40 min for our puppy to get checked and medication administered. Would never go back to this place again. read more

Highly recommend reading comments for booking here. I seen a add for them for low cost spay on Facebook decided to call and get pricing I booked and was happy about the prices. I get there at appointment 1 week after and none of the prices were valid. I was told $19 for each shot I picked and $119 for spay that came with etc etc turns out it's $135 barebones for spay and $29 for each shot. Glad I read the paper I was signing because the $19 rabies shot was listed on paper. In other words makes a business shady when they do this to customers. Highly recommend SPCA over them! read more

Please don't make the same mistake as I did and come to this veterinary clinic. I was not allowed to accompany my dogs while receiving shots and a microchip, during their scheduled appointment. An exam was not included in the exorbitant cost of these shots. I had several questions for the vet but I was not even able to see him/her let alone talk with him/her. My dogs returned smelling terrible which I can only imagine they had an accident during the procedure but I wouldn't know because I was not allowed to be present. I asked what happen and why they smelled so badly and I was told it was alcohol from the shots. The veterinarian did not even handle the beloved pets, a vet tech did. I have an ER animal trauma background so I am very anal about who I select as a Dr. my cat had to have a complete (to the base)tail amputation due to an injury. However, they did tell me that they might be done in the afternoon. The staff was very sweet. The clinic looked busy with a lot of visitors. My dog was 3 yo and did not have any teeth removed. Never again will I go here for anything. Our mom's kitten had fluid in the brain and we had to put it down. The kitten hadn't moved for three days. We take him here and fill out the necessary forms. The vet tries to give the kitten a general anesthetic, but can't find the vien and the kitten starts to freak out. He must have been terrified because, like I said, that was the only movement we saw for three days. She finally finds the vein and hands the limp kitten over to my two sisters and myself so that we can say our last goodbyes. She leaves the room and as we're taking turns holding him, the receptionist comes in to make sure we have enough money to pay. I didn't offer my credit card earlier because they never asked for it. That's right; we were interrupted because they weren't sure if we could pay the $105. After that, the kitten started to lose his pulse so we called the vet back in and she said he's pretty much gone now because she gave him too much anesthesia, which she confessed to doing occasionally. Finally, she gave him the dose of poison, but by then he was dead. We came here under unfortunate circumstances last summer. My 8 year old rottie started being lethargic and we were very concerned. Past unhappy experiences at other local vets left us with no where to turn to. I saw their ad in the paper and had an appt made for the same day. The vet was the nicest one my dog had ever had. We found out he had a very aggressive cancer with little time remaining. He never rushed us nor tried to force other unnecessary services on us. When it was time to say goodbye to my big boy, he gave me all the time in the world for me to stay with my beloved dog until the very end. My GSD needed to get his ears cleaned. Since he has been to this location for vaccines we decided to go ahead and bring him hear to get his ears checked out. The vet said there was something stuck deep in one of his ears and they would need to sedate him to clean it out. They quoted us a bit over $500, not a problem since we needed to get it done. They recommended we make an appointment which we did for 10am on Tuesday. We dropped of our dog at 10am and we were informed it would take a couple of hours and we would be informed at around 3-4pm to pick him out. At 2:30 I called the vet to see if the procedure was over and get an estimate on pickup time. Guess what?! They never started the procedure!!!! They kept our dog locked up without food and without water! We were told not to feed him for 24 hours. His last meal and water was the night before at 8PM. The following day at 2:30 he was without any food and water! They acted like nothing was wrong with that! I told them I am coming to pickup my dog and I would not like to proceed. The receptionist kept insisting they were just about to start and they will finish quickly. I rushed over to the clinic to get my dog and the vet literally told me they had a lot of walk ins and they assisted them. Please explain to me what an appointment is made for?? Maybe our pet wasn't important enough for them because they already had charged us ahead of time. Please do yourself and your pet a favor and avoid this business! Went in today to take our Dog for an exam. I was a bit skeptical since I've had very bad experiences with a few different Veterinarians in the area. All I can say is Dr. Hoque was amazing and answered all my questions thoroughly. He took his time to exam our dog and was extremely knowledgeable. He did not rush us, and was extremely polite.
