    Blueberry muffin FULL OF BLUBERRIES!
    Lidia S.

My favorite time of my morning is when I stop in here for either a blueberry muffin or a lemon scone, my two favorites. I've tried other scones and the breakfast sandwich and all are delicious. Looking forward to having the schnitzel sandwich one of these days :) [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe is adorable in a quiet area of Newton with parking always available (in my experience).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm always so happy to support small businesses ESPECIALLY when they deserve it. And Bettina definitely deserves it.

Didn't get a chance to explore the menu much or go in person yet, but was given a Schnitzel Sandwich via take away and it was so good. Would eat again and will go out of my way to try more from here.

Bettina and Naum launched a specialty sandwhich for the bakery crawl. "El Jefe." The base is slow cooked shredded beef. This 100% a top sandwich in Boston. I think this may be better than a Sam La Grassas or La Cascias sandwhich. Get it.

Yummy fluffy concha with a crunchy topping

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm so glad we discovered this homey bakery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So far my husband and I have enjoyed the coffee & Americano (Fazenda), fresh out of the oven concha (fluffy and barely sweet how I like it), cheddar scallion scone, German apple cake (like a short crust apple pie), cinnamon roll (wish it had more cinnamon sugar filling), and the maple oat scone (crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside without being dry), and chicken cutlet sandwich. My favorite so far has been the guava & cheese brioche, and I was lucky enough to get one still warm around 10am Saturday. I really appreciate that the baked goods aren't too sweet and I'm looking forward to trying the muffins soon (I saw someone eating one packed full of blueberries)! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm still not sure how a place serving food could not have a bathroom, but just know before you go...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]I wish they were open on Sundays.

What a lovely little family owned bakery! I believe the family is from Honduras given a few of the unique menu items. My favorite item was a drink that was half cold brew and half horchata. The coffee was light and the horchata's sweetness was just the right balance. It was so refreshing and different. The pastries were also fresh and there was a nice mix of familiar items and more unique items. We had the blueberry scone which was a bit different from other scones I've had in that it was moist and had a touch of salt in it. I liked it since I find most scones too dry. We also had the passionate fruit cake which was really moist and had such a bright, fruity icing to go along with it. Big fan. There was a small but diverse assortment of sandwiches for lunch that I wish we had a chance to try because they use homemade bread. Give it a try! Just be aware they have summer hours right now. I believe it is 7 am - 3 pm and only open Wed - Sun

Bettina's has a super cute atmosphere, very cozy. Brick wall and nice natural lighting. They have a communal bookshelf which I thought was a really nice addition for kids and families. I just got a muffin and coffee which was really good but would definitely want to try the food menu. They have things like egg sandwiches, tacos, salads, and more. Employees were really friendly. Good vibes would come back. Indoor seating a bit limited.

    Chicken Schnitzel sandwich

Passed this place many times, and wondered about it. Finally heard from someone I trust that it's amazing. It is. Have been twice and had the baleada with avocado - insanely good, and the tortilla had to have been made from scratch as apparently all baked goods there are. Tea was packed with lemony flavor, and also clearly homemade.

    Yummy!!!!

We ended up getting two strawberry cream mochi, one mango cream mochi, and the mango pomelo sago. The sago was definitely on the expensive side for the portion, but it absolutely hit the spot and satisfied the craving. The mochi was the real star. The outer layer was soft, chewy, and pillowy, while the filling was light, creamy, and not overly sweet. The strawberry cream mochi tasted fresh and delicate, and the mango version was rich, fruity, and refreshing. Each one felt like biting into a little cloud. The mango pomelo sago was creamy and packed with mango flavor, making for a nice contrast to the mochi. Not exactly an everyday treat given the prices, but for a special craving, it was worth the drive and I'd happily come back.

Fresh mochi with matcha cream and taro paste, rolled in butter crunch flakes. The order took more than a few minutes to get ready, and it's a little hard to know if your order is ready because there is no visual indicator (a screen displaying order numbers would be so helpful). The staff also wasn't the most careful with the way they were using gloves, they touched their face, the register etc etc. Plus the place is small without any seating so it can get crowded and you don't even know how much time for your order to be ready. But omg the mochi was spectacular. Soft chewy tasty not too sweet. Absolutely smacked it out of the park. A lot of points to improve upon but 5 star mochi.
