The ice cream sundaes are incredible and you get so much for the price (way too much you'll never finish)! The service is fast and everyone is friendly and the establishment itself is super cute!

We got the froyo with Reese's peanut butter cup mix in. Absolutely delicious. A bit pricey, but everything is nowadays. Staff were friendly and attentive even though the store was bustling with activity and a long line waiting for tables to eat dinner.

Still great ice cream. Still only $10 a sundae and the good old Cabot's I remember! Worth a visit even in the cold.

My favorite childhood restaurant. Amazing ice cream flavors, never disappoints. Loved that it was a family business and how they employed mostly college students, felt like they were really invested in the community. I do think the food has actually gotten a bit better since they changed management, but Cabot's has always held a special place in my heart.

    Another unbelievable sundae!

I've been coming since I was a baby and my parents used to date here and it's still every bit as amazing as it's always been - amazing new owner too who watches over to make sure everything is perfect. The ice cream and sundaes are huge, delicious and legendary, but their homemade soups, sandwiches, burgers, and plates are beyond great as well. Such a fun atmosphere for families, dates or groups of friends. A local gem!

Stopped in on ice cream day and expected a deal, discount or free ice cream like Friendly s, Dairy Queen, other ice cream places today? Ordered a sundae and asked for nuts... I dint realize 1.59 extra for a few nuts... wow I then checked sign and that what's it says... Last time adding nuts... big rip off Sundae just ok, small for 9.98 plus 1.59 extra for A 12 buck sundae...ordered to go and in even smaller container. Ice cream is good ... next time ll buy sundaes elsewhere, cones here if desperate .

My first time here and it was delicious. We got the eggs Benny special and a side of hotcakes the coffee was so good. Staff was warm and friendly. Definitely stepping back in time with the decor and furniture. Loved the fresh baked muffins! I will be back.

The first thing that hit me was how extensive their menu was. They have everything imaginable. I had a cheese omelette with Swiss cheese. I substituted fruit for hash browns. I have to watch the carbs. I had fruit which included strawberries, blueberries and melon. They did not charge me extra for the substitution. They have a bright atmosphere. Lots of windows allowing natural sunlight in. The was plenty of searing with tables and a counter. Ice cream is their specialty. They had lots of ice cream cakes in the refrigerator to choose from. The prices looked reasonable for the serving size. I would recommend.

Great local diner breakfast (they also serve lunch/dinner). Huge ice cream selection. Often packed, so get here early! Oatmeal, Belgian waffle, and grilled muffin were great! Extensive menu so worth a couple visits!

Such a cute diner and ice cream restaurant in Newtonville. I think it has been around for close to a decade, and it has a really nice retro feel. My best friend and I came here for dinner on a work night, and were able to get a table but it was incredibly crowded. It's a nice place for families and friends to hang out. The food was absolutely delicious and super affordable - I got a buffalo chicken wrap with fries, and my friend got a BLT with some modifications and a rickey drink. They were super attentive and made sure our food requests were honored, and the food was piping hot. The fries were epic, and the wrap was great - I am a true sucker for buffalo chicken wraps, and this one was a good one. Perfect ratio of crispy chicken to bleu cheese. After our food, we decided to try some of their ice cream. I got their classic chocolate flavor with peanut butter and hot fudge... amazing! Super cheap as well. Because it was so packed, we did spend about 2 hours here, but it was worth it because the food was great!

We had about a 20-30 min wait for a table and explored the area and shops on the block while we waited. When we got seated we cruised the menu and ordered the following: APPETIZERS - chicken karaage - our order came with crispy chicken however lacked seasoning and was a bit over cooked and dry. - okonomiyaki-styled tater tots - the BEST appetizer we ordered, needed a pinch of salt, but flavor wise with the bonito flakes and sauce it was a hit! - green papaya salad this needed more seasoning, mortared herbs and chilis maybe tomatoes and garlic. Pass next time. RAMEN - miso ramen for the kiddo and she enjoyed it. She can't eat spicy so this was a very mild ramen. Didn't think the miso flavor came thru but she enjoyed it. - spicy miso ramen the lady got this one and i tried a some, the broth was lacking a bit of depth today. It's not spicy so normally I'd say even the non-spicy crowd probably would be able to handle it. The broth just tasted more watery was looking for the punch of flavor. Now the noodles were chewy and had great bounce to them, the char siu pork cuts were tender and melt in your mouth! - chef's ultra ramen - this broth definitely was the better broth out of all the ramens in my opinion with plenty of proteins and more depth of flavor, umami, smokiness, smelled great too. - spicy tan tan the brother got this one, it's typically what i would normally go for, he enjoyed it, not too spicy either, could use some more crunchy garlic with the chili oil. Overall would come back to give it another go, perhaps the heavy dinner rush some things got lost in the cooking on certain dishes.

They have the option of take out too! We got a couple appetizers to try & each got a different ramen. Here's what we ordered: APPETIZERS - chicken karaage - okonomiyaki-styled tater tots - green papaya salad RAMEN - miso ramen - spicy miso ramen - chef's ultra ramen - spicy tan tan ramen Thoughts: I thought the appetizer portions were pretty generous! A lot more than we were all expecting. I was pretty much already full before the ramens came out. Wasn't a big fan of the green papaya salad. It was missing some flavor. We all thought that it would be better if it had some tomatoes & garlic. Didn't seem like they used a mortar to ground the aromatics or anything, since the sauce just tasted like fish sauce and lime. The chicken karaage was okay. Wish there was more sauce to dip the chicken with. Chicken was also on the drier side. The tater tots were the best appetizer of the three we ordered, IMO. If you like takoyaki balls, you'll like this because it has similar sauces + bonito flakes. Ours needed some salt though. As for the ramens, I personally had the spicy miso ramen. It was missing a lot of depth in the broth that I would've liked to see (& taste). I didn't taste any miso to be honest. Salt was needed too. The highlights for the ramen were the chashu & corn. I loved that they used fresh corn! The chashu had the perfect amount of fattiness & almost melted in my mouth. The noodles were nice and chewy. The broth was just disappointing though. For the other ramens, everyone enjoyed the one they ordered. I tried a little of the chef's ultra ramen & the broth was much better than my spicy miso. Btw, the spicy miso ramen is not spicy at all for anyone who is hesitant & cannot do overly spicy foods. The food was a bit disappointing for me. I came in with high expectations with all the good reviews I read beforehand. Not terrible but not great.

Plenty of seating packed into a small space, including large and small booths, tables, and stools up front. Straightforward decor without the nostalgic diner gimmickry-- it's not pretending to be old; it IS old and has its charm. -- Patty Melt: The reason I came. No longer on the current menu; however, they'll gladly make one for you. What I got was pretty impressive: a gentle patty, cooked to the medium rare I chose, and served on the seeded rye I chose, along with grilled onions, cheese, and a sauce sort of in the ketchup-and-mayo neighborhood. Good textures and taste, especially the beef. Only minor quibble was the minimal butter. Mini cup of coleslaw extra creamy. Pickle spear a nice palate cleanser. Overall, I was happy. -- Fries: They're not included with sandwiches, but a mere $1.95 for a more fries than a McDonald's medium was more than fair. Pretty average, but doable. Very quick, helpful, and attentive service-- not just from my own server but from all I encountered. Good vibe.

There's almost something cozy about a place like this. Knotty P. has all the diner signs: worn counter, people yapping, the waitress taking orders non-stop, booths aren't huge, aisles are tiny (good luck getting to your seat) and the special scrape sound of the large metal spatula touching the steel flattop. If you don't mind sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with the regulars, then the counter is your spot. The only 2 seats available were at the counter and we snagged them. The breakfast potatoes are exactly what you want them to be: crispy-edges and golden- these have a little heat kick- not too much- but just enough to keep you going for another bite. As non-meat eaters, we appreciated how the cook keeps the sausages in their own territory (something is something I guess) from the omelettes, pancakes, etc. Then there's the energy- fast and a little loud in the best way. And right in the middle of it, is Ileana who has that special spark and every beat, timed.
