The last time I went to this restaurant location was a few years ago and it was a little mediocre. I went here again recently and it was a complete 180. The food was tasty but even more importantly, the service was absolutely awesome. The two gentlemen at the counter were genuinely and authentically kind/nice. I really like this place! We were greeted immediately by a young lady, and I forgot her name, but she was very nice. Ryan took our order and he was asking about how we were doing and he was very friendly! My husband had the basic Betty burger and I had the point grinder. Both of these burgers were on point! They had an oval shape to them, which was kind of cool and the flavor was wonderful! The blends of everything on the point grinder were perfect! We also had a 50-50 basket with curly fries and onion rings. Both were great! Especially the onion rings they weren't greasy at all and the fries were seasoned perfectly and really yummy. Got a burger, fries and a shake. Service was pretty good - they prepared everything promptly and brought it to my table. The patty was nothing special really considering the price, but it was cooked properly and tasted fine - kind of a textbook "okay" burger. No complaints about the toppings. The fries and shake were both pretty good though. For the price the portions are reasonable, the taste just isn't totally there to back it up. Betty's Burgers has four locations in the Santa Cruz area. We happened to be in Aptos and in the mood for a good burger and hotdog. Betty's Burgers are made with 100% fresh, all natural beef. They do not use any antibiotics or hormones in their beef. All burgers come with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle, as well as mayo. All burgers are available lettuce wrapped instead of on a bun. For an extra fee, one may request a gluten-free bun. We ordered the Double Dutch burger and a Hot Diggity Dog along with an order of their Crispy Fries. The Double Dutch is a full pound of beef, consisting of two half pound patties. It is absolutely huge! The meat was well grilled and quite flavorful. The Hot Diggity Dog is an 8" plump all-beef hot dog served on a toasted bun. Our bun could have spent more time being toasted, and the dog could have had a little more char to its casing. However, it was quite flavorful. The Crispy Fries were disappointing, as they were not crispy. Actually, they were underdone and limp. There is a nice outdoor patio for eating on-site, yet it was a bit cool, so we sat indoors at a booth. Our seating area had fingerprints on the partition wall from previous customers. With 2 front staff members present, one of them could have been cleaning the inside of the restaurant, while the other concentrated on the orders. Note: They charge a 25-cent "Cup Fee" in addition to the price of the drink. The food is quite good. The staff friendly. The prices are on the high side. read more

German walked me throughly through the menu with all different mods and additions listening to my likes and dislikes. Ordered online during 4th of July weekend. My order was accepted went to pick it up and no one in the store. Walked right in started saying hello helllo no answer. Called police told them I am in Betty's Burgers no on here and the door is open. They asked me to yell hello really loud before they send out a patrol car. Finally a young woman came out from the back and said she was balancing the cash. Stated that my order was canceled and I should receive a credit. The order was over $50 and it has been over a year with numerous calls to the manager who said it was being worked on.
