My husband & I absolutely LOVE this location! Their sandwiches are very tasty & fresh; their employees are wonderful, too, especially Nikos! We first started going on their annual charity giving day (sorry I don't know what they call it). But they give all the money earned on that one day to a local charity, not just the proceeds but all their sales! We have always had good food and good service! Can't wait to go back soon! read more

Cancro Special: it's not listed on the board and, if you can't remember the name, you can order a number 12. Provolone, roast beef, and pepperoni. Solid choice. California Chicken Cheese Steak: not a cheesesteak per se but pretty good. Make sure they toast the bread longer Club Supreme: Roast beef, turkey, swiss, applewood smoked bacon and mayo by default. Drop mayo and mustard instead. Wish they had Dijon. Please get better chips. read more

Pro tip for vegans: pick up some falafel's at falafel of Santa Cruz. They're $.95 apiece. Head right on over to Jersey Mike's. their breads are all vegan already. Order the whole wheat plus cherry relish, banana peppers, jalapeños. Add falafel to sando. they gave my dog some bacon on the house. Very happy bodhi dog now. The staff were very nice and asked how my day was going and what I was up to. I like the conversational proprietors To my amazement, they actually did not charge sales tax, which is actually correct if you were buying a cold sandwich and taking it to go. As an East Coaster, it's always nice to find places that make uniquely East Coast food and do it generally well enough. We popped into this Jersey Mike's looking for something comfortable and quick to eat on the road. The three young men working in the place were all extremely engaging and seemed to like their jobs. Nicos took our order and explained the 5 after 5 special, upwelling us to 2 giant subs. He was great about preparing half for now and half for tomorrow. The guys welcomed our dog into the store, and let us give him a little bit of bacon. The guy who made one of our sandwiches was attentive and really made making a sandwich seem like an art. Every single member of the crew was chatting with us, while continuing to be efficient and remembering all of our order details, including a very special attention to food allergies (GLuten free). Cooper Cooper Cooper what more can I say! Went in on a whim after leaving UCSC day for my daughter. Been on campus since 7am, we were very hungry after about 5 hours. I was warmly greeted by Cooper who stated "Welcome to Jersey Mikes". Mind you I have never entered a Jersey Mike's before, but it felt like I was visiting an old friend. Cooper took the time to describe the complete menu in full detail, emphasizing how fresh the ingredients are. Ate recently at Jersey Mikes , the Sandwiches were made fresh , plenty of meat , cheese and Fixings. Maybe took a little longer because everything is cut fresh. Great taste and very large and filling. We were welcomed as we came in and employees took our order and made them , with lots of conversation about how we wanted things on our sandwiches. As far as "Chain Eateries" go, I have found that "Jersey Mike's" is a sandwich shop, that will knock your socks off! Jersey Mike's serves an assortment of different cold or hot subs that are made to order! Their "specialty" sandwiches are their different selections of "Cheese Steak" subs that are made up of fresh cut beef or chicken, grilled up with onions and peppers, with ch melted on top, served on your choice of different homemade rolls. I was blown away by the flavors of these sandwiches and the biggest surprise was the bread! That's right! The roll that my Cheesesteak was made with, had to be one of the best tasting breads I've ever had! I stopped several times, while eating, saying, "Wow! This roll is delicious! Sure, the ingredients of a Cheesesteak sandwich is pretty tasty but when the rolls it's served on are as good as Jersey Mike's, you have to take notice! I've recently been watching different podcasts where different sandwich chains are reviewed and compared and I was surprised (along with the podcast hosts), just how good Jersey Mike's scored! The food reviewers scored Jersey Mike's as "One of the BEST" All sandwiches are m to order, meats are cut fresh for your sandwich. Then, (if you order a hot sandwich), the delicious ingredients are grilled up, before you! Well it finally happened. I had a decent cold sub in California. I grew up in New Jersey, just outside of NYC. Italian subs were just about my favorite food from age 9 to 15 or so. In general, the quality of the Italian-American food in California has been the toughest adjustment to living here. But while pizza, as a national obsession, has some decent imitators around, I honestly hadn't had even a halfway respectable cold sandwich on this coast. Some passable hot subs, sure, but the cold ones? Way off. Without naming names, some of the other sandwich chains around here have no idea what they're doing. I went to Jersey Mike's the day after they opened up. I didn't know what to expect - I'm not sure I've ever seen my so often maligned home state used as a marketing tool before. I was ready to hate it. But I couldn't. Spongy, soft bread? Check. Oil and vinegar? Check. No freakin mayo? Check. Shredded lettuce? Check. Thin sliced meat? Check. Very few times have I ever felt this at home in California. Nothing like food nostalgia. Edit: Also, everyone there was super nicer even though they had a line out the door. I actually don't care about that too much personally. Food service is a tough job, I've been there. And if your food is good enough you can pretty much punch me in the face and I'll still come back. The sandwich "meat" is clearly heavily processed and reconstituted into meat cubes. You can see them in the cold case. Ham cube, turkey cube, and so on. We ordered three sandwiches with only one person ahead of us.
