We went early on Saturday evening, and the place is long and spacious, but very comfy. The menu is varied, and the fact that you can have breakfast or dinner all day is unique. We started with a soft pretzel with a mustard/cheese sauce. This was warm and fresh. My wife had the shrimp and grits and really enjoyed them, while I had the chicken pot pie and it was very tasty with the right amount of chicken and vegetables with a puff pastry crust. Both were served in little cast iron pans, so the dishes were nice and hot. The beverage menu is extensive but very fairly priced. We had a peach and berry compote with lavender ice cream. Oh, everything here is made in-house. There are so many yummy things on the menu that we will be back soon to try other things. I came here recently for the first time for a weekday lunch. It's a good menu, seems pretty varied, and I always like when places offer all-day breakfast instead of restricting it to certain hours. What a cute place! Love the decor. We were here on a summer Monday for lunch, and we were shocked to be the only patrons. I ordered a quinoa salad, which was a bit small and not enough for a full meal. Our nephew ordered the chicken pot pie and loved it except for the large round onions. Oh man what a hidden gem. Came here after where I originally wanted to was a 2 hour wait. Stumbled upon Betty and I am so glad I did. It's in the quietest calm neighborhood and they are super friendly. The food was delicious. So many options to choose from. My partner and I went for the "you Betty be ready" everything was just perfect. The potatoes and sausage were my favorite. Their portions are on the small side compared to other restaurants but personally I loved it because you feel full content and not walking around with a to go box all day. The hibiscus water was just delicious! I recommend getting a bit of sweetener in it to make it better. Overall the place was nice super clean and many seating they were very attentive and food was great. Will be coming back to try the rest of the menu and main dishes. Great little lunch or breakfast place to catch before or after the Liberty cruise at Pier 36. I had a Cortado (small espresso drink) which was excellent as was my wife's latte. She had a breakfast meal which looked amazing and tasted good too. I had a Cesar salad with chicken which was also good. Total bill about $45 plus tip. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we visited on a Tuesday morning about 10:45am. The waitress who made our coffee and served us was super friendly and made us feel at home. This place can be easy to walk right past because the store front that faces the street is maybe 20' wide. We will definitely return next time we take a nearby cruise. read more

The service and food here are fantastic. We came in late once (40 minutes to close) and asked if it was still alright to order and they were incredibly welcoming and kind about it. The crispy tofu sandwich was delicious and surprisingly flavorful from an otherwise American menu. The steak was tender and done exactly as asked. The second time we ordered shrimp and grits, the lox bagel, and the mission impossible burger. The shrimp and grits really stood out for its deliciously cheesy grits and perfectly cooked shrimp (not overdone at all). The bagel and burger were also up to par. Definitely recommend if you want to skip large crowds in the LES. read more

The French onion soup was the first bowl I've ever had where my focus was completely captivated by the onions, not the cheesy goodness. I also had shrimp sautéed in garlic sauce, for which I was compelled to order a second round of hearty toast to soak up every drop of sauce. I'm so glad we discovered this place this morning! The design aesthetic of the place is tastefully minimal, and stylish, like a place you'd find in Stockholm or Copenhagen. Has major sophisticated European design, but with a Brooklyn-chic vibe. And the breakfast was one of the best we've had in New York. I'm a huge fan of 'The Full English' breakfast, everything was cooked to perfection, including the blistered tomatoes. And their coffee was probably the best coffee I've had anywhere in New York. It's all high-quality ingredients presented unpretentiously. Nice glasses and dishware too. And the place is impeccably clean. I can't wait to come back to try their dinner items and specialty cocktails. I can tell already, I'll be coming back weekly, it's a real treat, and I like that it's off the beaten path. The BLT was pretty bad. 80% untoasted bread, bacon was torched and not a lot of tomato on the sandwich which was too bad bc tomato seemed fresh. Mostly just tasted like bread and arugula. It wasnt super expensive but I can make a better blt at home. Banana pie was tasty but more of a dollop of banana pudding then a pie. My group is from Cincinnati and we visited NYC. We're all huge foodies. We stayed a few blocks away from Betty's and we're on the hunt for a great little breakfast/ brunch spot. I'm so glad we chose this one! The French toast truly was the absolute BEST French toast I have ever had. It was custardy, creamy and DELICIOUS. The eggs were made perfect and the toast was great. I'm so happy to have this restaurant in the Two Bridges/LES neighborhood. This has been my go-to oasis lunch spot. It's very chill here and the staff are great. I love how each table is nicely adorned with a small jar of lovely fresh flowers. Everything they serve here is delicious.
