I had just left the Greek Jewish street fair on Broome Street and met up with a client; we walked to the car parked just down Broome and wanted to stop for a quick bite. Mila's was right there on the corner so we went in. Honestly, it would have been fine if he did and I hope he gets a raise and a bonus! I came to learn that Mila is a toddler and the venue is owned by her mom... either way, mother or daughter, this man deserves to be recognized and lauded. I don't go to that area often (I drove forty miles to the festival) but next time I am in that vicinity I will visit Mila's and hope that The Angel Gabriel is there. Went to Mila's for a spontaneous dinner since I work around the corner and was craving steak frites. For my first time here I ended up being surprisingly impressed. Service was solid but I also went during not a super busy time, the calamari is what blew me away the most because I wasn't expecting it to be pan fried/grilled. It was tender and had a very fresh and light flavor although unsure if the orange slices were really needed. My steak was delicious they do make the sauce and flavor very neutral on the steak so it does require you to salt to your liking. The only thing I felt didn't go with my meal was the jalapeño margarita especially when a lot of the menu has French origins the jalapeño margarita just felt very out of place. read more

The ambiance here is really lovely. Very rustic, chic, cozy, yet well lit on a sunny day. I came here with a group late on a Sunday and it was a great experience. Everything was low key, but the food and drinks still came out very fast. They have lots of french classics, but I ended up getting a pasta dish. I had their butternut squash ravioli and it was amazing. The pasta was clearly very fresh, hand made, and al dente. The sauce was also full of flavor. Everyone else's dishes looked amazing too. Ask for recommendation. They suggested the duck. It's was plain. The salad was just thrown in arugula with tomatoes and lemon juice as dressing. The burger was not bad. The fries were normal. It was not busy inside. Maybe only 1 or 2 tables. But there was 2 tables outside. We sat outside and the whole time there the server only checked on us twice. He was friendly and brought water for the dogs. The food was very basic. The service we felt like they forgot us by the times and interval to check in with us. The other worst thing was the table we were next to. The 6 of them were like chainsmokers. Smoking 3 per person. So we had a very basic dinner with slow service and even if we wanted to finish fast we still had to wait for the waiter to come out to give us our check. We couldn't get out of there any faster. Second hand smoke is the worst when the wind blows it directly towards us and on top of it non stop smokers. Wished the food was worth it sitting and inhaling all that smoke for dinner that night. Stumbled upon this place on a Friday afternoon for happy hour. They do $1 oysters and they also have a few drink specials. Was fairly empty when I went with only one other party there. They have some outdoor seating and the interior is a very European old school vibe. They had a few seats for outdoor seating and it's in a great corner spot. The only thing bringing this down was my drink - ordered the margarita and tasted a bit artificial to me as I think they used syrup for it. However was still a great deal with the oysters. Overall was decent if you're looking for a quick happy hour spot that can accommodate many people, but not sure I would go out of my way to come here. I went to this restaurant last Friday night to meet my bereavement crew. I arrived around 5pm and the place was empty which was good since I could have a seat at the bar and wait for everyone to arrive. This is a great local spot for food and drinks, which we all enjoyed very much. Not very large but staff and bartenders very accommodating and helpful. They were great to the group and didn't bother us even though we were sitting there for a while. I will say it was packed by 8pm and so loud we really had to strain to hear each other and talk but it was a fun lively vibe. We will definitely go back. This is a newly opened/revamped restaurant in LES. It boasts a dimly lit ambiance which is perfect for a date night. They also have a cool happy hour from 4-8 that includes wine, beer, margs, and well mixed drinks. Staff is very warm - specifically Agatha, which I believe is the manager or owner. My friend and I stopped in for a few glasses of wine and truffle fries - truffley, garlicky, and just perfectly crisp. Although my friend and I came in not too hungry, after some wine and convo, we decided on the tacos, recommended by Agatha. We got one order of fish tacos (2 tacos, one for each of us) , which were grilled (typically I go Baja style which is fried fish) and OMG. These tacos were so full of flavor, with a decent potion of fish, accompanied by a nice spicy sauce. SO DELISH! My friend and I had raved about them, and simultaneously said 'that was SO good' upon completion. That's when we put in another order of fish tacos. Also, prices are great relative to the area! Mila's used to be Farmhouse, and we used to come here all the time. I still love the quiet, comfortable, unrushed ambiance and pleasant staff (which are all the same). But miss the old menu. The new menu doesn't have as many main entree options, and very little for vegetarians to choose from. I miss the pasta dishes from the old menu, and my husband loved the chicken. There are a million places with guacamole, tacos, and quesadillas - who do them much better. Bring back the old menu! read more

We went to Mila's after arriving at our intended restaurant across the street to find it was closed for renovation. The weather was miserable but we got so comfortable in their dining tent with our happy hour cocktails and truffle fries that we decided to stay. Wise choice: We had some tasty tapas-style dishes (the ceviche was my fave) and a bottle of delicious (and reasonably priced) wine. It started to get a bit chilly after 6, 6:30, and they have no outdoor heaters, but we managed just fine. It helped a lot that Agatha, our server, was terrific. The inside space looked very well set up, social distancing wise, and when I get my 2nd vax will happily dine inside - or outside - next time. read more
