The food wasn't what I expected. The fries were a tad bit overcooked, the hot honey chicken sandwich tasted like frank hot sauce was one of the ingredients, no hot honey. The chicken didn't taste fully done so I turned my camera glash on to see better. It looked cooked so I ate it.I enjoyed the side salad best. The service was fine. The ambiance was cool, not allowed and simple decor. I would go back to tastes the Mac, the Betty ceaser salad, the Mac, ans maybe something else. So for my experience of the food to day is a 3.

Brunch! The Bloody Mary was a solid 8. Cld have used more than one olive and teeny lemon garnish. I got the English Breakfast, which is why I chose to try this restaurant, for my weekly Brunch. It was perfectly plated, but not hot at all. It wasnt even lukewarm. Had it been remotely warm, this would be four star rating. I had a generous side of grits, also not hot/warm, but enough for another meal. As others have said, the service is slow, so be prepared. The staff was gracious and I do like that music is not blasting so loudly you have to shout.

Grits--GET THEM. Full English--get this too.

Betty is a gem in the neighborhood. I came for brunch around 11ish. There were plenty of tables and it's a chill, low key atmosphere. I got the full English, which brought me back to London immediately. Even with empty tables, the food does take awhile to come out. Definitely worth the wait but don't have time sensitive plans afterwards.

Visiting family in the Lower East Side, we were looking for a new place for breakfast. The reviews of Betty sounded good and we checked it out. Betty is located in a non descript location on Henry St, across for Gouveneur Hospital. Our server, Tulane, was wonderful. She from Ohio and loves living here. She suggested the buttermilk pancakes, they were definitely delicious. I was given real maple syrup which you didn't often get. I chose the cauliflower side on a beef is hummus. Also really tasty. My wife enjoyed the avocado toast with 2 eggs over easy. It was also delicious. The coffee was fresh and smooth, strong enough and not sour or bitter. The ambience is very comfortable, clean looking, looks sorta life a coffee shop. It's nice and quiet, you feel like you need to talk in a soft voice. Also a little dark but not too much. The only problem is that the layout is a bit long and narrow and on a cold day, the cold windy air blows in. This is a really nice place for breakfast and I highly recommend it!

Very interesting experience here. Popped in randomly for dinner. No reservation. No recommendation. Just Me, Jesus, and a Google Maps search. It's out of the way, one of the places I pass by all the time while on the way to The Dancer. The space is big. Very prison chic with grey walls and concrete floors. We were greeted after a few minutes with a passive wave and, "Sit anywhere you like." The space is a good size, so you can kind of choose the vibe you want. The day we came the front house was led by two young women. The menu is new American and in my opinion, reasonably priced. We got a spattering of small bites and three cocktails. The service was medium speed and they were very attentive. My only slight qualm was the waitress/bartender was serving sleeves that keep brushing over our food and table which was kind of off putting. She eventually took it off! The vibe is like very much Youth Club. Not entirely professional but not entirely a mess either. More like a lax kind of place with really good food. The food is phenomenal. I was really impressed. I definitely will be coming back. The drinks are kind of shit but she did make a really good tequila espresso. This is the kind of place you come for dinner. Forget the cocktails! I definitely look forward to coming back again. It was a funny experience and the food is slamming.

My boyfriend absolutely loves this place and for good reason. Kind of a hidden spot on a side street and we're happy it's never too busy to get a table. They have all day breakfast and great dinner options. I'm a sucker for their pancakes which are warm and fluffy. Their English breakfast is great and so is their betty be ready. It's a great spot for a date or to bring friends and their service was pretty good. The food does take a little long to come out but always worth the wait.

We had a change in plans and found Betty in the Lower East Side for our early lunch. I had a burger that came with a light green salad. Fries would have been an alternate accompaniment, but I was very happy to get this salad. I wished afterwards that I had opted for a double patty, as the burger was good. Service was good and prompt, as the place filled when it got closer to noon on a Friday. This was a neighborhood place that was surprisingly low in noise level, as my wife suggested I lower my voice. No tourists in sight. My wife was already looking ahead towards our return.

Came for brunch! Service was great, the servers came by often to check on us and were quite friendly. I ordered the baked eggs, it was basically shakshuka and tasted so good! It also came with buttered bread which was sooo good but another piece would've been good since the baked eggs were so saucy

Betty was a great find. It is a neighborhood gem with tasty dishes and cocktails. It was opened late which was great for us as we just flew in from the west coast and wanted a nice meal after a long day of travel. We had the fish green curry, henry street soft pretzel, sauteed shrimp and cauliflower. We paired our dishes with the William Seward's Basil Gimlet, Hot Toddy and Manhattan. Service was great, ambiance was definitely NYC chic and would definitely return to Betty's.

Cute small restaurant with a friendly staff. I ordered the avocado toast which was very tasty and presented so pretty. They also have a kitchen called Abigail's that offered cooking classes. Glad I found this restaurant nestled by dimes square.

The food was amazing, the wait for the food, slightly less amazing. This is a super cute establishment with a very home-y vibe. Service was very kind and fun. The shrimp n grits were so good! I will be back for that alone. Our drinks were fantastic as well. Someone in my party got a bagel with smoked salmon and it looked alright. She said it was good but it didn't come with many toppings other than the salmon it self. Unsure if I would recommend this item since there are better place in new york for a bagel. My only issue was the wait. Took a bit long to get our food and sit down after arriving. But the flavor made up for everything so i'll be back!

Came here for a family brunch recently and overall had a great experience. Very reasonably priced food (the breakfast sandwich was killer) and nice quiet atmosphere. It was a bit out of the way for me for a typical day, but I would consider returning if in the area!

Are you ready for the 411? Here we go...stopped here to have lunch with friends to celebrate a birthday and was so disappointed. I have been here before and was not expecting what would occur today. We ordered our drinks and food at 12:15pm and did not get served the drinks...yes, I said the drinks meaning a sprite, ginger ale and matcha lemonade until 45 minutes later (approximately 12:52pm). They basically forgot about us. I had a 1:30pm so I had to leave my friends and since I was paying, I had to ask for the check. I was still annoyed because I was hungry and had no food to enjoy but paying for a check. In any case, I was asked how we enjoyed the food to which I replied, "I would not know since we did not get the food." He offered to comp our drinks and asked me if that would make us happy and my reply, with my witnesses present, was "I guess." In his next response I got he was not happy with my response because he basically asked me if comping it not enough, and again I had to reply, "I guess" and further add "I was not aware it was a Yes/No question. Here is the thing, why should I be happy you are taking off $6 off my approximately $95 check, when I still was not able to eat and had to go back to a meeting without eating lunch and had to get it to go which means I will probably not eat it for another few hours. $6 is not going to do anything for me but the fact that I cannot eat now for hours due to your workflow is my issue. The customer service and understanding could have been volumes better. While they indicated they were swamped; I will not allow a business to gaslight my feelings when they are in the wrong. As I said earlier, we have eaten there many times even bringing our managers there and dropping over $800 for the bill and the service was FAR better. As a Yelp elite, I rarely write poor reviews but even our favorite places have to know when they need to do better. The other server who felt he was too swamped to serve us our drinks could have alerted someone he needed help but to completely ignore us and then be like I forgot your drinks 45 minutes later started this whole downhill process. I hope this review will be helpful in Betty's looking at how they can do better, because it's not about the customer sometimes, it's how the business responds back to the customer's dissatisfaction and with that said it's not always about a comp! I still recommend people visit this location as it is a great spot otherwise. The food is delicious, especially the hangar steak, garlic shrimp and mac and cheese!

Only negative I could say is that it was a bit pricey, but I figured that's New York City pricing, as it was $30 for my salad plus salmon, which is only like $18-20 here in Maryland. But overall, still an A+.

I would like to give 3.5 stars: actually 5 stars for the service, which was exceptional from start…read moreto finish. The server, Chad, was personable, knowledgeable and very efficient. Only 3 stars or so for the food. It was ok, but didn't knock my socks off. I mean, it really was fine, but not the wow I'd been led to expect. And then less than 2 stars for the ambiance, which makes me sad. The decor was fine up to a point. Lovely bar stools. But the corner we sat in? None of the photos on the walls around us were straightened or hung equally. It was a bit disturbing (ie not relaxing) and confusing to the eye. And the music was this weird mash up of disco and 70s harder rock. Weird, as it is supposed to be a higher end dining experience. Hm. I would hire the server, but would look someplace else to spend my money on another meal in the area.
