Literally, the best donuts I've had in my 43 years....Stopped by on a Saturday morning around 9 am and they were almost sold out of everything. Not surprising since they are amazing. The service was friendly and nice. The donut shop smelled so good when you walk in and I look forward to returning earlier in the morning to get more of a variety of donuts and a breakfast sammie. read more

I love Sunshine donuts! They positively make the best darn donuts in the Bay Area. They are always fresh and delicious and they always have plenty to choose from. They do run out early sometimes, so it's best to place an order ahead of time. Services is always excellent and fast. I bring my kids in here every Friday after ballot class and the ladies who run the store are just the nicest. They always make a point to say "hi" and are always easy going when one of my kids just has to have the perfect donut. Stores always clean and they have a great selection of cold drinks. I don't eat donuts as often as I'd like--it's more of a treat for me. But when I do, I always enjoy this shop. I went in today to pick up donuts for my mom's birthday, and she loves the old-fashioned and plain ones. We also got blueberry, maple glazed, coconut, and cake donuts. I absolutely love this donut shop! It's always clean, and the staff is friendly. They have a great selection and are definitely the best in the area! My wife and I wanted to do gender reveal donuts. They were super accommodating even though there was a bit of a language barrier. They made us four donuts with blue frosting for our baby boy! Came here for the first time this morning around 8. There was a bit of a line but the ladies were efficient in serving the costumers. There was still plenty of selections to choose from. We ordered a six pack of donuts and it cost around $13. We felt the donuts were passable, but they were a bit heavy and greasy compared to what you would expect. Our suspicion is that the oil was not hot enough when the dough was fried, so the donuts sucked in a lot of the oil instead of becoming crispy. We found the donut glaze to not be sweet enough on the old fashioned and the classic glazed, so they ended up not having much defining flavor other than kind of oily. The Boston cream has the traditional custard in it, but this donut shop does not carry actual whipped heavy cream filled donuts. We also felt that the apple fritter was sorely lacking in apple. The customer service was solid, so no complaints there. I think overall the donut shop was just okay and not really anything we'd go out of our way to get again. read more

Very pricey for cheap coffee and with no good variety of donuts, I went in for a croissant and they have a big menu for them but only have the ones with pork, which I don't eat. Service was okay, but the setup of the shop and variety of donuts was weak especially for how expensive they were, I got 3 donuts and it was $11. Definitely won't be stopping here again. read more

Great little gem, cool old school vibe. Walked in around 945am about 5 people checking out before me. Associate helped me right away bought 1 maple bar, 1 French maple, 1 sprinkle and 6 small donut holes and a small hot chocolate. Very moist, flavorful and definitely a donut fix full of pleasure.. hot chocolate was very hot definitely ask for added milk if giving it to your kids before they burn their tongue off. One the best local doughnut shops around! They are open till they sell out on a busy day that could be super early! Like 11 am, otherwise they are usually open till at least 1 pm. Raspberry filled is my go to! Blueberry old fashioned next. Then of course doughnut holes! read more

Whatta treat for me ! Sunshine donuts are super fresh ALWAYS. It's a hidden gem in old Brentwood I have been coming here a long time. I don't go often for obvious reasons. You can't eat donuts everyday and then cry about the results. Today they are open 5am - 2pm. I slept late so I didn't get there until 10ish and almost everything was gone. They still had plenty of regular donuts but the fancy ones were pretty done. I still was able to get my favorites though YOLO !!!! Everything was set up accordingly to COVID regulations. It was a line everyone wore their masks but did not social distance themselves. But it went fast they got customers in and out quickly. I wanted to get pictures of the inside but it was a bit crowded. I didn't want others to feel uncomfortable. I bought a glazed donut, old fashioned blueberry, cinnamon roll crunch, chocolate sprinkles, chocolate buttermilk MAN, OH, MAN ... EVERYTHING is so good. All this goodness is going to send me on a binge ! I'm already thinking about returning tomorrow , that's soooo bad (laugh). Thank gawd for discipline. I'm well satisfied with what I have. Lots of options! I love a good classic donut shop. This one is located walking distance from downtown, and they have a awesome selection! Picked up a few with my family the other day and they all tasted great. I got a Apple fritter which was amazing, my son got a chocolate cake donut with sprinkles.
