I came here on a Saturday for lunch and the place was packed. There were lots of families eating both inside and out on the patio. The atmosphere was lively, and the staff was friendly. The menu offers Bolivian and Latin food. I had heard their saltenas were a must try, so that's what I ordered and they did not disappoint. The saltena was delicious, sweet bread, firm texture, and hot on the inside. I also tried an empanada de queso, and it was surprisingly good. If you're into Latin food and want to try some tasty salteñas, this is a great spot. Just keep in mind it gets busy. read more

The best and well known place in sterling VA. Love their beef and chicken saltena. I had a taste of this and i love it ever since. Their price is pretty good as well. The only thing is that you might need to soeak spanish to be ablr to order the food here. I called to place an order and it took 5 minutes for my orders to be placed because they did not speaks english much. The restaurant is small but also havr outside seating. Large parking lot in front so no problrm there. Their saltena is juicy and very delicious and great seasonjng as well. Would recommend this to everyone and will deff come back! read more

My first time at this establishment. The woman at the register was very pleasant and helpful. I purchased saltenas and empanadas for lunches this week and silpanch for dinner. The portion was so large I could only eat about a third and it was delicious. It came with some very fresh pico and a delicious green hot sauce that tasted very fresh and I think is made from jalapenos. Haven't tried everything yet, but I'm sure they're going to be great. For my order (just Saltenas) they made me wait 35 minutes only to find out that my order had been ready and placed in the shelf but nobody was kind enough to look or realize why I was still standing in front of the counter for that long. This tiny hole in the wall restaurant is a Bolivian gem or at least to those who know about it. EVERYTHING is great about this place from the wait staff to cleanliness to food portions to taste. The constant stream of people is testament to the brilliant waitresses working together to take care of all tables. The Saltenas and Empanadas were amazing... lots of filling and yummy dough. I came here with my Bolivian American partner while traveling. He said that the silpancho here was "second only to my mothers". I got the milanesa de pollo and it was delicious. I love how the dishes each come with two fried eggs. They were served atop a pile of tasty thick cut fried potatoes and a mound of rice. They were sold out of salteñas which was a bummer. The rolls served at the beginning of the meal were freshly baked and so good. We bought more to take home at the end of the meal. We got a pitcher of mocochinchi that I really enjoyed-- not too sweet, the right amount of cinnamon, and yummy dried peaches . I would highly recommend either dish. When I come back I know I will have a hard time deciding between getting one of these dishes or trying something new. We dined at one other Bolivian place in the area and we both thought Betty's was far superior. read more

Came here with my hungry prima ( cousin) and she wanted to eat Bolivian food since we were in the area Betty's Grill popped up on Yelp. Good reviews so why not?! We go in and we seat ourselves we were given the menus. I love menus with pictures. I'm a visual, I like to see pictures of food than a description. Plenty of pictures! On the back of the menu they have weekend specials. Our waitress comes and takes our drink order, cousin suggests to me Inca cola that's the South American version of Coke but yellow. I order one chicken saltena that's like a empanada to start and picante de lengua. She orders silpancho a large steak loaded with a mountain of rice and two fried eggs on top of the steak. Now if your on a paleo, south beach or some carb free diet this isn't the place for you as most Bolivian restaurants I have been to love to accompany lots of rice and potatoes with your meat dishes or even soup. My saltena was very spicy I can handle the heat but it wasn't flavorful and was missing a lot of key ingredients and the dough was too hard which maybe why I didn't enjoy it as much. In fact I didn't eat much of it. I ordered picante de lengua translation = stewed beef which was really good. Sauce and meat all cooked to perfection. Cuzzo ordered silpancho she liked it. She didn't offer to share hers neither did I. Service was ok it was more of us calling the waitress over when we needed something. Overall I would come back for their entrees but not for their saltenas unless they change their recipe. read more

Great saltenas! I love that they have put up plexy glass to separate themselves from their patrions due to COVID BUT....the restaurant space is too small to social distance. I went to pick up a carry out order and started to have anxiety. All of their tables were being used up and obviously the customers were not wearing masks. The line for order take outs is right in between the masses. I did not feel safe becauseI live with a risk person. They should use the space next door for carry outs. Also, the staff could use some training on customer service. Their food is great but they lack customer service. I have been coming here for many years and have never been properly greeted. I do not know if its a cultural thing. A nice greeting goes a long way. read more

We come here quite often and we aren't disappointed! The food here is good, service is nice- it just gets very busy on weekends or certain days. On those days, it's loud and sometimes the servers just get really busy and can confuse orders but they do their best to get everything out in a timely manner. The owner is very sweet. read more

The heavy set male server was giving me a funny look while I waited which made me very uncomfortable yet never asked if I needed anything. This is one of my favorite new finds in the area. We rarely go out to eat in Sterling and went her on a whim. I'm glad we did! Authentic and delicious food from Boliva to Argentina - Peruvian. Great menu. We had pupusas with cheese and beans (delicious) and split a beef vegetable empanada. It was hot, freshly made, well season and flavorful. Even the bread served was cool looking and tasted great. I'm a sucker for fried eggs on rice - so half the menu was already on my 'yes' list. I chose beef and an Argentine sausage which also came with a super simple salad. Service was quick, and kind. We had an easy time ordering, eating wonderful food and bantering with our server in Spanglish. Next time I might just get a whole plate of empanadas and pupusas and try them all!
