Both were excellent, although I think the risotto edged out the burger. Our server Mike made the whole experience. Before he even brought us water, he showed up with a bowl for Onyx. Come on, that's an instant five stars in my book. We ended up talking wine with him for a good part of the afternoon. He had us sample a few different pours before we landed on a Nebbiolo we loved. Later, after another conversation about wine, he brought over a taste of a white we'd never even heard of because he thought we'd enjoy trying it. It never felt like an upsell. It just felt like talking with someone who genuinely enjoys wine and likes sharing it with people. Relaxing patio, great food, excellent cocktails, and genuinely memorable service. The sweet, mellow garlic and Châteauneuf-du-Pape were wonderful together. Dessert was the highlight of the entire pairing. The lavender ice cream was outstanding, the Chantilly surrounding it was light and delicious, and the strawberry sauce wasn't overly sweet. The Sauternes was excellent with the dessert, particularly with the fresh strawberry. This was the pairing where the food and wine truly made each other better. Even though I was one of the last diners of the evening, I never felt rushed. My server was very attentive and social which I love. It was very romantic and yet comfortable enough that dining alone wasnt awkward. I'd happily return.

The soup was filled with lots of lobster meat and was delicious. The fish tacos were made with cod and the waiter mentioned that the slaw had some habanero chile in it. I asked if it was spicy and he said it might have a slight kick, but was not spicy. He was absolutely correct and in fact, if he hadn't mentioned the habanero I would not have picked up on it at all. It was really good. If you order bread, (and you have choices on type), you are charged I think a dollar per order, but that is donated to help people who are food challenged. We were full from our dinner, but we could not pass up an order of key lime pie for dessert, which we shared. It was a hard choice because they had a special dessert which was chocolate peanut-butter pie. I wish we could have had both. Their other desserts also sounded great. By the way, a portion of their revenues from desserts are also donated to help those who need food assistance. I was very impressed that they do that. I want to mention that the wait staff was also great. Friendly, attentive, but not over-bearing. I can't say enough about Sweetwster Tavern. Ms. C was attentive, genuinely caring, and professional. We are a Red Robin or Texas roadhouse fan. But this Visit put Red Lobster on our top list. Family of 3, Lobster shrimp, salmon, Jambalaya, biscuits, fruit, great service for under $70 for a sit down restaurant? in this economy. Rare. We will be going there again. We come out to the mall eatery when we're in the area running errands. The eatery has surprisingly rebounded and appears to be reconstituting its offerings although the mall itself, post-covid, remains a sad and sorry shell of its former self. #sadface Back to Sarku...No complaints at all about the taste, freshness and quality of the teriyaki chicken. A container full of sizzling, piping hot and fresh grilled meat right from watching it get expertly grilled right before your own eyes - CAN'T GET MORE FRESH THAN THAT. The "chef" working the grill honestly is a pro. We remember him when he first started wayyyyy back in the day (well before covid) - "apprenticing" under the prev "chef". (Give this guy a raise....or part ownership of the business because he's the one keeping this place alive and kicking.) So, NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL WITH SARKU'S FOOD QUALITY. Our go-to order now is to order 1 ENTREE WITH DOUBLE MEAT. It's definitely a better deal and IT'S ENOUGH FOR 2 PEOPLE TO SHARE - especially if you're not ravenous. ANOTHER TIP: no matter that we no longer frequent this place much anymore (due to how expensive it's become for "fast food"), we still keep a FREQUENT DINER CARD on hand and use it when we go/order - it's worth getting a free entree for every 6 you order - so if you're not doing that (especially if you do go here regularly or order multiple entrees in a single visit), get a card from the cashier and start getting your entrees stamped and earning a free meal. The cards never expire and are not location specific so even better if you frequent different Sarku locations. As I said, we don't go out of our way to go to this Sarku or any other location because of how pricey it is. Sarku has continued to steadily jack up their prices AND have made their containers smaller and smaller and smaller (so they can make you feel like they've generously stuffed your box full of food - clever! ...not). Their other menu items might be better value but I seriously doubt it and I don't think I would trust sushi made at a fast food carryout joint anyway. So, for all these reasons, we only go when we're in the area of the mall AND have a craving for teriyaki chicken.

My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for years. It's changed hands a few times and the food has had some good years and some not so good years. We went mostly on Friday nights and considering the food was pretty good, we always wondered why it wasn't busier. Service? I don't know. So after hitting a couple of seafood places that had 2 hour waits on Good Friday(go figure), we decided on El Estribo. First thing we noticed was that there were many more people than before. After being seated, we were told that there were new owners. So that explains the new paint! The whole vibe is a little fresher. Waiters have some hustle, TV is still there but wasn't on. Some great latin boleros were playing. But enough about atmosphere. First off, my family is nuts for SuperChicken. We've always commented that you had to go to a polleria to get good chicken. Most of the places that serve an extended peruvian menu don't do good chicken. That's changed here. My daughter got the chicken and it had the nice crisp skin that you get from the pollerias. I wanted to grab it off her plate! But I restrained myself. She said it was delicioso. And if there's a place in Loudoun now that does good chicken, I'm a VERY happy woman. The ceviche was the best I've had there yet, (and they always did a pretty good ceviche) just enough spice without making me gulp all of my drink . I got the saltado de mariscos, which were good. Hubby got Jalea or something like that, it's fried seafood drizzled with the same type of liquid that they use for ceviche. That was REALLY good. Normally I get beef or pork dishes when I go Peruvian, so I don't know how they compare to "before". One thing that has changed is the rice. Usually the rice is just a vehicle for whatever sauce is on the plate. This rice has some goood garlicky flavor. Not overpowering, but just enough to punch it up a bit. Were there some timing issues on the food, yes. I've experienced those in almost every Peruvian restaurant I've gone to. Considering that these owners have only been there a week and have made the food changes that they have, I'm certainly willing to wait out the kinks that new businesses go through. I'm looking forward to going back to try my "regular" dishes to see how they compare. It certainly shows promise. read more

This seemed odd as that's a key part of the dish and not that hard to make. We still ordered it and found it tasty back home. My only issues were with the fried rice that came as a side with the lomo saltado (rice was uncooked/not fully cooked) and the spicy chicken teriyaki was flavored well, but was cold. Service was efficient and prices were reasonable for the portions you receive. I will return, but will skip the rice and chicken teriyaki sides.

I decided to give Super Chicken a try when in need of a quick lunch close to home. I opted for the half chicken combo with a side of black beans and plantains. My food was ready well under the quoted 25-30 minute pickup time. I found the food here so-so. The white meat ran a little dry. The chicken itself had a nicely seasoned skin, but the meat underneath tasted muted without any spice notes. Charcoal cooked birds usually have a hint of flavor from the coals, but the rendition here lacked any discernible smoke. The sides tasted as expected. The black beans were bland, but at least were creamy and well cooked. I have no issues with the well fried and perfectly sweet plantains. The sauces here are on par with area competitors, though the staff here are unusually stingy with extra container requests. Overall, while my meal was fine there was nothing "super" about Super Chicken compelling enough to merit a return visit besides proximity. Superior charcoal chicken is easily available elsewhere nearby.

I was also checking out my buddy's chunks of beef that were part of his meal, and wanted that too! He gave me a chunk and it was so tender, juicy and good, I knew on my next visit, I would have to order some form of their steak! The service was spot on, and food order time to table, was exceptional! My next visit came yesterday, and yes I ordered a steak! It was a late Friday afternoon, and even though they were busy with a few large tables of people, service was still outstanding and the food was even better than the first time! If you have read some of my reviews, by the time I think to take pictures, there's not much left to take a picture of! Also, I know some people just take pictures and not much else, and while something can look really good in a photo, you have to dig into it to unearth what's really good about the dish, and everything I have tried at Autentico, was superb! I ordered the NY Strip with fries and instead of the rice that comes with it, I asked if I could substitute veggies for the rice? They said no problem! While the first time I had a couple bottles of their Corona, which was very cold and was also provided with a frosted glass, this time I asked for a Modelo Especial. I was told they had it on tap! Major points, as I love all of Modelo's products especially the stouts! It was just my buddy from work this time and me, and we had such a great meal and the ambiance was awesome! I had joked my first time visiting there while driving in, that there was an Irish resturant right next to it! I mentioned that we should go there after for a couple pints. We never got around to it, as we were too full both times to make it in. But that resturant is in the back of my mind for a future visit! So if you do go to Autentico, you won't be disappointed. It's a great location that's worth the drive, and an exceptional resturant!
