An old establishment! Has been in the same location for many years and as I understood it, the current owners have had it for over 25 years! Went there for breakfast. I've had good breakfast there but I would not order the omelette there. They ask if you want cheese. If you say yes they put American cheese on it. That's not real cheese). The English muffin was hard and seemed stale and the potatoes were soggy. Sorry Beulah. Try harder. read more

This little spot feels like a cozy kitchen of a family member. The lady was super nice who greeted & served us, the prices are average but taste was delicious. It is a small spot but really a nice change from the larger places that are too noisy, the place was full but not noisy. I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area. read more

After being away from Lake County for almost 20 years, and currently relocating back here to retire, I couldn't wait to revisit some of my favorite places to eat. I was forewarned that BEULAH'S wasn't as good as it used to be and boys howdy was that an understatement. We drove from Lakeport to Middletown to eat here, and let's just say "we WON'T be back". The place is filthy. I used the restroom and was pretty appalled at the lack of cleanliness. A place doesn't have to be fancy, just clean with good food . We ordered a simple breakfast meal with very few diners in the place and it took over 20 minutes to get our food. We used to stop here our way to clear lake years ago and the food was great and it was clean. Sadly, not anymore. read more

I can't speak for what it is like now, but the last time I site there in 1983, we all had the big burger and fries platter, for FIVE dollars. Back then, you got a one pound burger, cooked the way you wanted, with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions, condiments in bottles on the tabled, along with napkins, on a huge oval platter with home fries, and a doggie bag for what you couldn't finish, and I only knew one person to finish it, Bruce B., because the platter of home fries would have filled you up if the huge burger didn't. Beulah's has been around forever. It's good, decent diner food. Selection is limited, but it's all fresh ingredients, prepared from scratch and cooked to order. It's locally owned and operated and service is good. It's the only place in Middletown to get breakfast that I know of. The Cowpoke across the street shut down a while ago. They were supposed to open before Christmas - over a year ago. You could get breakfast at Twin Pines Casino, but the fare is decidedly more " processed", and a little higher priced. If you were expecting something more like the French Laundry, you'd be disappointed. This is Middletown. That being said, Beulah's gets my vote for the best diner food breakfast in all of Middletown. read more

My daughter enjoyed her breakfast burrito. I think stick with breakfast. My soggy roast beef sandwich on grilled sourdough was awful. Tiny fake sourdough, cold green chili halves dripping from the can and tomatoes and cold roast beef. I glanced at the plate and it looked like a kid's grilled cheese sandwich. With old macaroni salad beside it. 12.95. Do not order sandwiches there. No care in it. read more

What a wonderful breakfast spot in this quaint town of Middletown. Located in the kitty corner of Hwy 175 & the scenic Hwy 29 Beulah's is pretty hard to miss. Their menu is quite extensive for such a little place and of course upon seeing the familiar "Garbage...Omelet" It pretty much sealed the deal. A nice hot cup of joe accompanied a generous serving of omelet & potatoes with a little bit of pepper, salt, hot sauce and catsup, I was off to an amazing start for my trip to Napa Valley. I really enjoyed the breakfast here, needless to say we were back the following morning, this time I tried their "Chicken Fried Steak" and oh boy was it delish! A generous amount of flavorful gravy blankets this tenderized beef "chicken fried" (I know it sounds confusing but you know what i mean *grin*) potatoes and toast completes this wonderful plate! Service is pretty good, seat yourself if there's an available table, additional seating "al fresco" is also available in their cute little courtyard. There weren't many options for brunch in Middletown and since this place had decent reviews on yelp, I trusted that we would have a good experience. Once you walk in, the cashier directs you to seat yourselves. We ordered a couple of omelettes and pancakes. The food itself was okay, but the servers only checked on us once to see if everything was okay. I had to get up and steal some sugar from another table for my coffee, also grab another ketchup bottle from another table so that we could have some, and flag someone down 2x just to get our waters/coffees refilled. The disappointing thing about the service was that the place was not busy at all, and they clearly had enough staff to fully attend to their customers. When our meals were done, I had to go to the bathroom. My biggest pet peeves in restaurants are clean bathrooms so when I walked outside to their outdoor restroom, I almost wanted to turn right back around and force myself to wait. If I didn't have to go so badly, I would have. The toilet seat was up, no one had bothered to flush, and when I grabbed some toilet paper to push the toilet seat back down, I found the seat to be stained with even more piss. Great. The small trash can next to the toilet seat was overflowing with paper that it touched the top of the roll. I had to literally tear off the bottom piece because I knew it had to be contaminated. The sink was a disaster as well. It was wet all over, and needed to be re-caulked. Gross. read more

Met our son and grandson here for lunch, they came from Chico and we from Santa Rosa. We drive this way frequently going to Chico or visiting family near Kelseyville. First time we tried Beulah's based on their Yelp ratings. Service was fast and friendly. I had the Beulah Cheeseburger with a salad which is one of the alternatives to fries. Excellent for both. Son had eggs and hash browns, wife had French Toast and bacon, grandson had the Mickey Mouse pancakes, egg and bacon. Place was very busy but food was served relatively fast. The best part is the local, non-chain ambience, with lots of locals and travelers enjoying it all. We will definitely make Beulah's a regular stop. And the total bill was only $29! read more

Funky tiny little breakfast/lunch stop. It looks like a shack from outside. I came here as a kid with my dad and I remember ordering hot chocolate and they served it in a teapot with a mug. I was in heaven. As an adult I view it through a lens of nostalgia, and appreciate it for what it is. A little local hole in the wall with classic greasy- diner menu offerings. Chicken fried steak, pancakes, burgers, club sandwiches and so on. This is our Lake County version of Denny's. I recommend the garbage omelette. Came here on a cold Sunday am after a stay near Middletown. It was about 32degrees out and my only gripe with Beulah's is that it isn't that well heated but the fantastic down home country breakfast made up for that in spades. If you're looking for a fancy brunch place this ain't your place but if you like true house made biscuits and from scratch gravy you'll be more than happy. My self and my buddy got the biscuits and gravy with eggs and home fries. Probably one of the best we have ever had. My brother got the "garbage" omelet and loved it.
