I don't write reviews much anymore but came in here for the first time and had SUCH a good experience I wanted to support the business. I'm staying at Harbin Hot Springs nearby. They stop serving breakfast at 11 and are overpriced anyways. Came into town looking for another option for breakfast food. They were crowded. I asked the server if I could sit at the counter. She said "you can but it'll be a while before I get to you just be warned." It took about five minutes, no big deal at all. I ordered steak and eggs, steak extra rare and eggs over medium. They fucking nailed it. Most places won't serve you a steak red in the middle unless you send it back. They did it perfectly. Same with the eggs. Most places you ask for over medium eggs and the yolks are either too cooked or the whites still have runny mucus. They did it perfectly. The portion was VERY generous for the price, too. Latte was great too. Server kept very sweetly apologizing for being slow even though they were completely reasonable especially for how backed up they were. I'm never eating breakfast at Harbin again lol. This is the sort of place that gives diners a good name. Very happy to have found it here. read more

Review #2... Another beautiful day for a drive from Napa to Middletown, especially knowing a wonderful meal awaits your journey! Hubby and I were once again graciously welcomed and seated. We ordered the same thing as last time cause it was so good and a perfect portion. The Stonehouse 2 Egg breakfast is delicious! In my last review I gave an honest opinion of their gravy. Well today it was freaking off the hook! Well done chef (s)! And those Magical Sausages are to die for and huge. I call them "Bangors". Our sweet waitress took extra good care of us too. Enjoyed lunch at Stonehouse Tuesday. First visit under the new owners. Service was excellent, spot on and caught that we were celebrating a birthday. Brought a dessert and sang Happy Birthday! Next visit we will try the outdoor seating in the back. They have added an outdoor bar and plan to have live music. It is always great to have new restaurant options. We were a part of a Datsun Fun Run that drove from West Sacramento to Middleton by way of county roads. Several of us arrived at the restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was pretty busy but they were able to move tables around to accommodate the eight people that came in together. As we were getting seated a couple more Datsun people arrived and the hostess quickly moved more tables around. Then more people arrived and again we were all accomodated together. On top of that, they were able to give us separate checks. Most of the party ordered hamburgers. They patty was a very good size and everyone's was cooked as ordered. I ordered the Avocado Toast (Herbed avocado on sliced bread topped with arugula, cherry tomatoes sprinkles with balsamic glaze) from the breakfast menu. It was very hard to eat as the arugula fell off the top of the bread. There wasn't much avocado on the one slice of bread (for the price I expected two slices) and I don't remember seeing or tasting a balsamic glaze. Poor choice for me. All the sandwiches others ordered looked very good. The restaurant charges a 3% fee for credit card use. The bathrooms were clean. If we ever find ourselves in Middleton again, we'd return to the Stonehouse Restaurant. read more

Absolutely lovely place to stop for lunch! The avocado toast was very fresh. The tomatoes were good and the french fries came out piping hot. The Boyfriend really enjoyed the eggs Benedict. Lynette was our waitress & she was Awesome! Friendly, attentive & just kind. She checked back on us often & made sure our needs were met. The price of food was good & portions large. Hey you locals -- get out and go to this restaurant! Take the family and give yourself a night off from cooking. While visiting my daughter and grandbabies, we were looking for a Saturday night dinner spot. During a massage earlier in the week, one of the locals recommended the Stonehouse Restaurant in Middletown and told us they serve dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, use local produce, and have a fun, clean atmosphere. That was all we needed to hear. Last Saturday night, my daughter and I took the two little ones and decided to give it a try. We didn't need a reservation, which made it easy and relaxed. The décor has a cozy country dining and bar feel, very clean and welcoming. Our server was personable and had such a warm, happy presence, especially with the girls. That kind of kindness doesn't go unnoticed. We ordered chicken tenders and fries for the girls right away to get them started. The plate came with three large chicken tenders and a big portion of fries, so generous that the girls split it and we still had one tender and fries left over! Everything came out hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked. For appetizers, we shared the bacon-wrapped shrimp and fried mozzarella sticks, both were large portions and absolutely delicious. The shrimp were big and flavorful, and the mozzarella sticks were golden and cooked to perfection. My daughter and I later split the house burger made with local beef, and it was generous, moist, and cooked just right. You could taste the quality. And I can't forget the lemon drop martini, made fresh, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. It was spot on. Overall, the menu offers great choices for everyone. It was such a great experience, and I truly hope the community supports this place and keeps it thriving. We'll definitely be back. read more

I've gone for breakfast and lunch. For lunch, I got the cheesesteak which was enough food for me to split with my partner. It was a non greasy cheese steak. ( I very much joyed this ). For breakfast The waffles and fruit taste amazing !!! The iced coffee was very affordable and they let me take it to go when I was done eating but not done with my drink. Service is attentive and accommodating. As far as the atmosphere. it's a nice enjoyable , cozy, place to spend time with family and friends. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in for breakfast and shared two dishes -- the chilaquiles (a daily special) and Marlene's Scramble -- and both were absolutely delicious! The chilaquiles were perfectly sauced (made fresh while we were there), with just the right amount of heat, topped with a creamy drizzle, fresh avocado, and a beautifully cooked egg. And Marlene's Scramble was hearty, cheesy, and packed with flavor -- total comfort food. You can tell everything is made with care and intention. no flavor in the scramble had a few bites and sent it back cost 20.50$ total for a small portion and had maybe a quarter of hash browns in it literally had to look for it added sausage and maybe had one. , cold french toast with melted whip cream, BLT was trash as well. Leaving after 54.50 with added cost 1.30$ for a card plus tax and not including tip. If you're coming here with any anticipation of cow polk you will be sadly let down. Will not be back. We've had some horrible luck with restaurants in the county but this place didn't disappoint!! We started off with their deep fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks which were amazingly good! The cheese pull was perfection! We ordered the ribeye steak entrees with roasted potatoes and a side salad and let me just say it hit the spot! The steaks were perfectly cooked & seasoned so well!! The roasted rosemary garlic potatoes were to die for and the salad was good! The service was fantastic! Our waitress Madison was beyond amazing!! She checked in often to make sure we were satisfied & to ensure we had everything we needed. We had ordered a burger to go and asked if she could put it on close to us finishing our meals and she made sure to do just that! We waited very little time for everything!! I even mentioned how quick the kitchen staff was. 10/10 recommend trying this place if you haven't. read more

From the servers being very friendly and quick to take care of anything asked for, to the cooks making sure orders are precise, and on to the owners personally asking how the service and meals are... this place has my vote every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Went there today to check it out and it was really good. I had their turkey club and fries The sandwich was huge, I could only eat half and it was really good as well as the fries. My wife had the goat cheese salad and said it was really good. We will be going back for sure to try their breakfast. read more

There were 4 tables with us included during our meal and the server was heavily flustered. I appreciate his efforts but we tried to order a salad and sandwhich but both were unavailable on the lunch menu so you only have maybe 4 other options. I originally ordered the country potatoes as a side but it came out with hashbrowns instead. I asked again for the side of potatoes instead and got it after we had finished everything else. I didn't eat the hashbrowns and the server never acknowledged his mistake and tried to charge for double country potatoes. He tried to explain he had to charge me twice for food cost regulation but there is no such thing. A manger offered to comp a meal which was appreciated but the overall experience was not something worth going back to. read more

I just had breakfast there. I am overjoyed that Middletown now has a new breakfast place. It may be too early to give them an honest rating but I will share some good and not so good things about my experience. Entering the front door I was greeted instantly by their FOH person and was seated with no delay. So far so good. I waited 10 minutes before I was getting frustrated and flagged someone down to ask for some coffee and told them I'd like to order. After another 5 minutes the coffee showed up. I told them I'm ready to order. Another couple minutes and someone finally showed up to take my order. There are some confusing things about the menu, but the waiter answered my questions and took my order. Another 20 minutes went by before my order showed up. So I'll give them another couple weeks sort out their service issues. Opening a new restaurant is never easy. When the food arrived, it was very basic. Don't expect any flashy plating skills. What you order is what you get. The poached eggs on my eggs Benedict were perfect. The Hollandaise was pretty good. It looked like they forgot to toast the English muffins. The hash browns were definitely hashed, but also definitely not browned. They were 100% potato white. I don't mean to disrespect the chef, but clearly his pepper grinder is not broke. I'm guessing he grew up in a pepper deprived environment, and now having recently discovered this new found spice in his culinary cornucopia, he wants to share it with the world by unleashing vast quantities for the world to enjoy. I'm hoping he learns to dial that enthusiasm back a bit. After another 30 minutes, I had to flag someone down to ask for my check. After another 5 minutes my check appears, but with a note tacked to the bottom that there's a 3% additional charge for using a credit card. Really? So if I leave 20% tip does that mean it's going to cost me an additional 3% in addition to 3% for the meal? And an additional 3% for the taxes? I think they'd be wise to think that through a little more. Yes I'm aware there is a cost for credit processing. They might want to 1) explore competitive processing companies, and 2) incorporate that expense into their overall costs. Breaking out and itemizing an additional expense as they did is a little off putting. It might work for some hotels and cruise ships where the clientele is captive, but in a small town restaurant that practice isn't going to win them many friends. Meanwhile, after getting frustrated waiting for someone to pick up my check, I finally gave up and walked it over to the register so I could be on my way. Rather than use my credit card, I offered cash. It took long enough for someone to acknowledge me at the register. Wouldn't you know it - they didn't have any change. I guess they were expecting a credit card. Never mind, I've gotta' go. Keep the change! They got the 20% tip, the 3% extra and then some. As I said, it's not all bad. It may take a month to iron out the operation. I'll be back. I wish them well, and am really happy we've got another place to get breakfast in Middletown. read more
