The Stonehouse Breakfast with yummy sausages. Mysterious but delicious
    Cathy W.

Review #2... Another beautiful day for a drive from Napa to Middletown, especially knowing a wonderful meal awaits your journey! Hubby and I were once again graciously welcomed and seated. We ordered the same thing as last time cause it was so good and a perfect portion. The Stonehouse 2 Egg breakfast is delicious! In my last review I gave an honest opinion of their gravy. Well today it was freaking off the hook! Well done chef (s)! And those Magical Sausages are to die for and huge. I call them "Bangors". Our sweet waitress took extra good care of us too. My only regret was failing to take another photo. DARNIT. :( Anyway....If you're in the area it's a terrific restaurant!

We were a part of a Datsun Fun Run that drove from West Sacramento to Middleton by way of county roads. Several of us arrived at the restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was pretty busy but they were able to move tables around to accommodate the eight people that came in together. As we were getting seated a couple more Datsun people arrived and the hostess quickly moved more tables around. Then more people arrived and again we were all accomodated together. On top of that, they were able to give us separate checks. Most of the party ordered hamburgers. They patty was a very good size and everyone's was cooked as ordered. I ordered the Avocado Toast (Herbed avocado on sliced bread topped with arugula, cherry tomatoes sprinkles with balsamic glaze) from the breakfast menu. It was very hard to eat as the arugula fell off the top of the bread. There wasn't much avocado on the one slice of bread (for the price I expected two slices) and I don't remember seeing or tasting a balsamic glaze. Poor choice for me. All the sandwiches others ordered looked very good. The restaurant charges a 3% fee for credit card use. The bathrooms were clean. If we ever find ourselves in Middleton again, we'd return to the Stonehouse Restaurant.

Absolutely lovely place to stop for lunch! The avocado toast was very fresh. The tomatoes were good and the french fries came out piping hot. The Boyfriend really enjoyed the eggs Benedict. He said the eggs were absolutely perfect. I can't wait to come back and try more of the breakfast foods!

Lynette was our waitress & she was Awesome! Friendly, attentive & just kind. She checked back on us often & made sure our needs were met. The price of food was good & portions large. We even took additional meals to go due to our hotel not being adequate in that area. Pictures show what we had. The atmosphere was great too, very nice place.

This was my first time going here since rhey have a new owner. The place looks amazing. Ali is a wonderful server. The food was extremely enjoyable. I had a smoky, Turkey sandwich that was delightful. I will go back for sure!! It was so good I took a bite before my picture

It was Sunday morning when we got breakfast and this small cute place for breakfast, my simple breakfast was the cheapest thing on the menu 10$ but I love it, they know how to make sunny side egg, the other thing the made it crispy hash brown, they way I like it, food not to oily too.Portion was not to much .

    Marlene's Scramble

My boyfriend and I stopped in for breakfast and shared two dishes -- the chilaquiles (a daily special) and Marlene's Scramble -- and both were absolutely delicious! The chilaquiles were perfectly sauced (made fresh while we were there), with just the right amount of heat, topped with a creamy drizzle, fresh avocado, and a beautifully cooked egg. And Marlene's Scramble was hearty, cheesy, and packed with flavor -- total comfort food. You can tell everything is made with care and intention. The service was very friendly, welcoming and attentive, and the whole place has that cozy, small-town charm that makes you want to come back. So glad to have a spot like this in town!

One of the best servers ever

From the servers being very friendly and quick to take care of anything asked for, to the cooks making sure orders are precise, and on to the owners personally asking how the service and meals are... this place has my vote every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Ali, Courtney, Marilee are star servers. Jana is an amazing owner. 10/10 from me

Then we ordered a bunch of food to share and they brought everything out slowly so we could eat it after it was freshly made. We got the oysters, slider, poke bowl, short rib, and fresh mozzarella bruschetta (I think the last one was a special). All so good! The ambiance was really nice with comfortable seating, fun lighting, and great music. I'd def recommend this place and go back myself!

With excitement in her eyes, she described the delicious tropical-inspired cocktails with good vibes to match. Since I had an upcoming birthday, I bookmarked the restaurant so that we would remember to visit it during our stay in Calistoga. After arriving in Calistoga on a Friday evening, my wife and I thought that it would be appropriate to have dinner and drinks at Robert's. Upon walking through the entrance of the restaurant, we observed a nice backyard-style layout with televisions tuned to the NBA playoffs, patrons enjoying glasses of wine, and a DJ playing smooth yacht rock tunes. A friendly employee informed us that it was open seating, so we sat ourselves along the padded seating in close proximity to the DJ. Shortly afterwards, a server came by to take our orders. My wife ordered the short rib, garlic fries, and the Sip It Slowly cocktail; I ordered the Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Dumplings (suggested by the server), and the Jerk Old Fashioned. While we awaited our orders, the server brought us a delicious miniature size soup - which was absolutely delicious and definitely a tease! Shortly after, our drinks arrived. I found my drink to be delicious, strong, and was intrigued by the flavor that the little piece of submerged jerky provided. However, I will admit that I was a bit jealous when I snuck a couple sips of my wife's delicious cocktail. Up until the arrival of our meals, I was impressed. My wife found the short ribs to be just ok; additionally, her fries were lukewarm upon arrival and dry (as if they were overcooked). I have had Jamaican jerk chicken in Jamaica, so my expectations were very high. Unfortunately, the chicken was not flavorful and did not have the "kick (spice)" that I anticipated. Surprisingly, the highlight here was the dumplings (delicious!) and the Hint of Passion cocktail that I ordered (if I had a signature drink- this would be it!). I really should have listened to my intuition when we initially observed that a majority of the other patrons were just indulging in drinks, no food. When our server brought us the bill totaling roughly $160, I couldn't help but feel like the food was not in alignment with the price point. I wanted so badly to like this establishment, but honestly could not see myself returning for anything other than one of their cocktails.

First off, they were so welcoming when we checked in. And I love that it's so pet friendly. Hostess that checked us in was a doll. The inside decor and the layout was so cute. One side is the hostess counter and right across from there is a waiting lounge area which I believe is also utilized for dining. Walking through, they have indoor seating to one side and the bar area to the opposite. Also dining available along the hi top bar counter. We had a big group which they had us set up on the patio. Another beautiful layout. It's like dining in a community garden slash secret garden. Our waitress who took care of us was amazing. So sweet and very friendly. Not just her but the entire staff there. Menu wise looked amazing. Also it was also a recommendation from one of the staff at a winery we were just at. Drink menu was quite huge too. Of course food was on our mind and it did not disappoint. Big group meant a lot of share plates to start off. A double of things ordered to start off. Daily crudo which was served with wonton chips. Fresh fish with all spices and marinaded. It was fresh and delicious. You gotta have oysters if it's available. Curry deviled eggs was quite tasty as well. Your classic eggs with a little twist. Mushroom egg rolls were a hit. It literally came piping hot so it was a little wait till we enjoy it and it was delicious. Came with two dipping sauce which paired very well. Salsa macha fries, similar concept as the elote corn with the coltija cheese, lime creme and cilantro. Brisket can also be added which we opted out for. Then there was the grilled Vietnamese steak with the not so sticky rice in a cube form. Cooked perfectly and the crunchiness of the rice was perfect. Also the dipping sauce was great. Beef brisket tacos were another hit. Two orders and loaded with meat and all the topping. Very flavorful and delicious. Cant come here and not have their almost famous chicken tenders. Big chunks of chicken battered and fried to a nice golden color. It was so juicy and served with pickle chips and dipping. You can have it hot or now with the sauce. Crispy duck confit was delicious. Nice potion of duck with bitter greens and duck fat potatoes. Brazen burger, which was pretty massive. Classic burger but better and with bacon and fries. Then you have the kimchi noodles, added chicken and shrimp or without. That dish was tasty. You either love kimchi or not and the way it was prepared with pasta, delicious. And lastly, the special was a hot ham sandwich I believe. Served with potatoes salad and gherkins. It was a hefty sandwich with loads of meat and cheese. Simply but so good. Food was excellent as we literally had loads from the menu. Of course loads of recommendations which I know why. The food was exceptional and service was great. Restaurant is beautiful and service was excellent. Also they're so pet friendly. Plus, we ordered a dog patty for the pup and it was quite tasty...lol.... Can't wait to come back, hopefully soon. Not sure if menu if set or it changes seasonally. Regardless, whoever is in charge of menu, chefs kiss.

I feel it's relevant to mention that I am an Indian man, born and raised in Ohio, and the other three members of our party, including my wife, are Caucasian. We were having a political discussion at our table. We had visited a winery beforehand, so I'll acknowledge that our conversation may have been louder than average, but there was no arguing, disruptive behavior, or inappropriate language. My wife, who was part of the main conversation, was not even drinking alcohol. After taking our drink order, our server returned and refused to serve alcohol--but only to me. When we respectfully asked why, he stated that he could not serve me because of my accent. Wanting to be absolutely certain we understood him correctly, my wife asked, "Just to clarify, you're telling us that you're refusing to serve only my brown husband because of his accent?" He confirmed that was the reason. I'm sure the restaurant may later claim the decision was based on intoxication, but that was not the explanation we were given. The first two reasons provided were explicitly that it was because of my accent. For the record, I don't believe I even have an accent--but even if I did, that should never be grounds to refuse service. We left without eating, though we still paid for the drinks that had already been served. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously, because no guest should be singled out and denied service for something like this.

I also tried the Mucha Lucha w/ cilantro infused Siete Leguas Blanco, chorizo infused mezcal and cubes made of hot sauce that make the drink have a bit more of a kick as you allow them to melt. I did the HH chips and guac which was also accompanied with a tasty Chipotle sauce. Damn good actually. It'd be excellent served in a variety of ways.
