Sometimes serious and food is great and sometimes it's awful. Recently great service but when I asked iif my eggs & toast came with potatoes I was told oh no. Then I ordered fries to go with toast and eggs. My bill over $27 oh I also had ice tea. I was shocked that my fries were $8. So toast & 2 eggs over 12$ I won't as often anymore. It's a beautiful place. Several times they waited on people first that arrived 15 minutes after me! 3 times I had to let them know I was there. None of these times were they busy. I have many more where I was never checked on to see if I needed anything. The table across from me received awesome service. Maybe because I was alone so a smaller tip. read more

Service was decent, what I don't understand are the prices for quality. I expected a lot better than average. It was just barely. I did like the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer, but for money spent the Out n in burger and BBQ burger my girl had were ok, but left us feeling a little sick later. What I couldn't believe was her father's dinner. He ordered fish n chips, and got what looked like big fish sticks from a freezer. He barely eat any of it and said "It was ok I guess. I've loved here for 25 years and still can't understand why it's never been that good and got a huge remodel and the prime of fine dining. Well got the prices for fine dining but not the food. You missed the mark Greenview. Maybe I'll try again in a year or two. Maybe. Oh one other thing I had to make a reservation and when showed up the place was empty and the sign said seat yourself. I really wanted to give this place a five star review but I just couldn't. The place was not packed in the bar area where we were seated but the service was quite slow. The place is clean, the server was nice, but way too slow. The bartender noticed we hadn't had our order taken but didn't stop the server from doing some kind of inventory instead of coming to take our order. We waited 16 mins from when I started timing it. That is far too long when there were only 4 other tables besides us and two were already eating. The food was delicious. My husband was pleased the burger was bigger than the bun and the onions were caramelized not burnt. My French Dip was on point and my fries were warm seasoned well. read more

So it was a quiet day and I decided I needed some wings. Didn't mind driving a bit as it was a beautiful day. Found a place called Evergreen Bar & Grill in Hidden Valley Lake. They offered 6 or 12 wings for 15/22 Bucks, Six different flavors and ranch as well. Shelby geeted me just seconds after I sat down at the bar. Decided I would get the Habenero Mango. She said it was their hottest sauce. Also got a Pl;iny to wash it all down. The wings came out piping hot and looked delicious, although I hoped they weren't too spicy. The wings were nice and crispy for the most part. Lightly breaded. A couple of the pieces were a bit soft on the crispy. A couple of the wings seemed to not have been cooked completely. I haven't gotten sick so I guess they were fine. The sauce was Not hot at all but the coating was enjoyable and of course the Pliny tasted nice and fresh. Next time I'll get 12. Reading some of the reviews it seems that some in the community weren't too happy about the restaurant opening up as it is in a Home Owners Association. Apparently, they thought the prices were too high. I think $!5 for 6 wings is a bit pricy but wasn't too concerned about it. 12 wings for $22 isn't bad at all. I can't comment on the rest of the menu but it has a lot of variety. Drop in and see for yourself. The place looked like it had just opened. Everything was clean and fresh looking. Bathrooms were clean as well. The bar & grill is in a building that has a proshop for golf if you so desire. I used to play there regulary and it is definitely challenging from the blue tees. A much anticipated visit. We finally made it and the place was packed. I am basing my review on the previous Greenview's exceptional food. We ordered the prime rib, it was pretty flavorful, however the aus jus was cold and had the consistency of pudding. Very strange, so we asked for hot aus jus, but it was like we were speaking a foreign language. They brought out a room temperature little seasoning size container. Ok, I get that the staff aren't used to being so busy, but seriously, what happened to the great food and service? Our drinks were good, but our bartender wasn't attentive. I am sure that the lack of service was not normal because at the old Greenview we never had this issue, food was always hot and served fresh. Of course, the last call at around 8:30 was disappointing. Definitely hoping that staff get used the traffic and that the hours for the bar at least are extended for the weekend. Otherwise, the place is beautiful and clearly looks classy. Hoping that it will get back to the high standards as they had before. read more

Updating my review after observing the Greenview team really strive to continue making improvements. They are still in an impossible position with a small very vocal faction of our community against the restaurant from the start which makes doing their job so difficult. The staff is consistently friendly. The restaurant is clean, the view is enjoyable and this is a nice place to grab a cocktail at the bar, or host a group for dinner. Management has been listening to feedback, launched a bar menu with more price accessible small bites with regular additions, and they really do a nice job with community events. Whether you live in HVL, reside outside the gates, or are just visiting I highly recommend you visit the Greenview. The views alone make it worth a visit. read more

I got a bacon cheese burger there and it was dry dry dry, no pink in the center as I had asked the bacon was barely crispy as I had asked, the fries were luke warm and soggy the onions weren't grilled as I had asked and the condiments were bitter. Our pleasant server on Friday, August 18, 2023, was Christa F., Table 53. She was friendly and efficient. There were four of us in our party. We had two orders of Fried Chicken, one Veggie Pizza, one Kid's Garden Salad, and a Kid's Pepperoni Pizza. The fried chicken was dry, but the Broccolini and mashed potatoes were excellent. New and updated Greenview, let's see what's up... Walking towards the building, noticed the big loading area and electrical building which an eye sore. Once you get into the doors, it looks like a nice hotel lobby. Checked in with hostess and was immediately seated. Jenny K. was our waitress and took our apps orders right away per our request. Apps came out pretty fast, about 10 mins. Margherita Pizza 1/5: We had high hopes and was expecting high quality Neapolitan pies, but we were disappointed. Pie sauce was watery and soaked into the crust which was undercooked in the center. Cheese in center was lukewarm. Flavor was there, but it feel I had better frozen pies. Ahi Tartare 4/5: Good quality previously frozen ahi. Whoever preps knows how to properly defrost and handle ahi. Good amount of avocado, appreciated the wasabi tobiko. Only thing that messed this up was something too sweet in the seasoning, also adding some sesame oil would help. Caesar Salad 3/5: Needed more anchovy for me, also some fresh ground black pepper, maybe a little more lemon. Dressing was pretty heavy. Reminded me of Costco caesar which isn't bad, but not next level. Entrees: Cauliflower Steak 4/5: Good option for the plant based homies. Maybe a tahini based sauce to bring everything together and some seasoning on the cauliflower itself would elevate it. Good concept though, I appreciated the chimichurri type sauce that they placed in the center and 4 corners. Fuego Burger 3/5: Good flavors, love the cilantro crema and jicama in the slaw. Pretzel style bun worked. Burger patty itself killed it for me though. Fat was missing. Burger was cooked medium, but dry. Maybe grinding in some Chuck, short rib, or brisket instead of pure sirloin would help. Accompaniments of fries and Panko fried jalapeños were fire 5/5! Ribeye 3/5: Steak itself gave me Sizzler vibes. Nice grill marks on a gas grill. I prefer steak on hot cast iron and basted with herbs and fat. Steak was cooked to medium-rare as requested, but lacked seasoning. Nice and juicy, but watery kind of juice. Might need to find a different meat supplier that ages their meat properly. Broccolini was nice and cooked perfectly, not soaked in butter like usual steak sides. Parmesan potato gratin was just straight grease. Threw that mess in the trash! Overall, this trip to Greenview came up short of my expectations. Service and ambiance meets expectations, but food still needs work to make it worth $20-$50/plate. I was hoping this place would save me a trip to St. Helena for proper grindz, but I guess I'll stay making that trip! read more

If you choose to come here, make sure it's light bites and you have lots of patience. We weren't sat for 10 minutes, it took an additional hour 10 minutes to get water or menus to our table. We ordered drinks but those alone took 17 minutes. We decided to share some pizzas and fries but my prosciutto pizza had a VERY hard crust, light arugula 2 slices of prosciutto and maybe the thinnest layer of cheese I've ever seen on a pizza. For $19 it was essentially just balsamic and crust. Brasswood in St Helena would've been an easy choice in pizza comparison. The server was so nice but everything was so incredibly slow especially for there being 3 tables occupied including us! This is the 3rd trial we've had with this place and most definitely our last. read more

Consistently the worst service ever.....the worst! It's always the same staff members that just ruin the whole experience. The food is hit and miss, you're pretty safe sticking with a burger, pizza and I haven't had a bad steak there yet. If I didn't drive past it everyday, I would block the place from my thoughts. worst Calamari Fitti I ever had. The first order was unedible and they offered to make a new one which ended up just as bad. How difficult is it to fry already breaded calamari out of a bag? The mashed potatoes and chicken were gross, the presentation was not appetizing but disgusting. We will NEVER EVER go back. The waiter was lovely and I felt bad for her. What ambience??? It felt like we were in an institutionalized setting, like a hospital or government cafeteria. Everything looked, cheap, cheap. How can a restaurant like that survive? The new restaurant is beautiful. However, the chef & Food & Beverage Mgr have not changed and the food doesn't match the quality of the restaurant's design. In 3 weeks, I sent back 3 out of 4 dinner plates. In one, pork too tough to chew, another the pasta was a bit warmer than room temp & the third was also not hot. While, for me, the mainstay is their weekend Eggs Benedict, the lack of consistency sucks & is telling. After multiple requests they finally send the plate out with Hollandaise that is closer to legal temp but a couple weeks ago, I sent a plate back cause the eggs were already cold. Of course the chef blames the servers. Their Mother's Day Buffet was insulting. Not much of the food was at legal warm temp. The Eggs Benedict were cold and tasteless and the English Muffin unwilling to be easily cut into. I would NOT recommend this restaurant based on the low quality of what they put out. Servers are great. Management sucks! Too bad it's the closest restaurant for8 miles (not counting gas stations). Try the Main Street Grill in Clearlake. Packaged EB is horrible, but their egg dishes enjoyable. read more

Service is consistently great, ambiance is inviting and well maintained. Food has suffered to meet expectations recently as kitchen staff has been in transition and underwhelming. Bring back the beet appetizer which was at least unique and delicious. The quality of meat in burgers has also missed to include option for Wagu beef. Coleslaw has been soggy and often scarcely present. Management needs to invest in a chef and improve quality. read more

last night I ordered two fish and chips dinners to go. in the past I loved the fish and chips but what I got last night it looked like they got the fish from Grocery Outlet frozen food section. The fish was not the beer battered filets as in the past, but pressed fished pieces. and they had the nerve to charge 25.00 per order. 20 years ago when I first moved to this area, the restaurant was managed by a concessionaire. You had to stand in line for lunch or breakfast in order to get a table. The food was decent, service was good and price was a good value. Then some Einstein in the HOA with no restaurant experience had a brilliant idea that they could force the restaurant to serve high end dinners, dictate the menu and regulate pricing. Well, the concessionaire promptly left. The ensuing years have been an unending parade of managers who never could quite replicate that previous success. The HOA was sold on the idea that if they put $20 million into a new and poorly designed building, they could magically recapture that lost business. It seems the HOA just can't understand why you can't manage a good food service by committee. The losses have been staggering. You can't even get breakfast there anymore, unless it's a random "buffet", populated with Cisco dump and pour items. Lunch and dinner is decidedly "ok", with spotty service. When you first enter the restaurant, expect to see a "Please Wait to be Seated" sign. You can wait until hell freezes over or ignore the sign and go ask to be seated. For the most part, the staff is friendly, but there's no management to oversee service. So don't expect anyone to anticipate that you might need any attention after your order is placed. You're on your own after that! I think it would be nice if people could give some business to the restaurant, but don't expect a decent value. Think of it as your contribution to helping dig the HOA out of a debilitating debt. I hope they can improve. It would be nice to see them successful once again. I just don't think I can hold my breath that long. read more

Had the brunch this morning at the Greenview, my third time visiting since it re-opened and hadn't posted yet since I have been busy adulting so figured I would post my experience now! First visit was on the Soft Opening and brought my mom who flew in from Florida. I had the Butternut Squash Ravioli and she tried the Ribeye. The Ravioli was amazing although I was still a little hungry afterwards, this is ok since I need to lose weight anyways . Tried mom's Ribeye which had good flavor, but was a little overcooked for my taste, but then again she did order it medium. Tried the Bread Pudding for desert and it was great. Second trip was on opening night, I tried the Margherita pizza and a nice cold beer. Service was great and was the best pizza I've had in Lake county! Today brought my son for Brunch, forgot how much I missed the Eggs Benedict, also tried a bite of my sons Biscuits and gravy which had a really good gravy sauce. Overall I would give the food a 9 out of 10 ambiance a 10, and service maybe a 8 out of 10 since there are still some kinks to work out and people are still learning. I do think that an extra pasta dish or two would he great. Also a drink menu with featured drinks would be awesome. I'm not a huge drinker but love trying things off a cocktail menu that look tasty. When I asked they said there was no drink menu but said I can order whatever I want and they will make it. Also like someone mentioned it is kind of confusing when there is nobody seating people, is it seat yourself? Do you wait for someone to seat you? Both times I wasn't sure if only the bar seating area was open or if the dining area was open, it was just kind of show up and wander around to the table. Overall I think it's going to do great and I'm very happy to have some good food close to home. read more

Third time eating there since the "reopening" nothing is improving. Apparently, Monday and Tuesdays they can only find a cook that knows how to operate a deep fryer, as the only dinner options were: fish and chips, a chicken sandwich, or a hot dog. I sent my entree back, too salty, when it came back it was worse! The mayo wasn't spread on the "burnt" bun. The service wasn't good either. We need to close the restaurant and cut our losses. read more

We go to Greenview roughly once a week. The staff are all very friendly and greet us like old friends which is great. The food relatively consistent. I love the lemon rosemary chicken, their mashed potatoes, and grits are all delicious. My husband frequently gets the burger and the wings which he really loves, although he does wish they offered regular buffalo sauce for the wings on a regular basis, not just on Monday night football. I love the modern style of the place. They remodeled beautifully. I wish the prices were more reasonable, or maybe have more small plate options so the locals can afford to frequent there. Also the hour are confusing and inconsistent. I was so excited that they had karaoke night, but then they changed it to being twice a month, once on a Thursday and once on a Friday, and I can't keep track of which days they are so I don't go anymore. Couldn't it just be every other Thursday to make it less confusing? I just wish things would be more consistent. read more

my family and i came in for dinner on a Friday night, the food was great, our server was very attentive but seemed to be looking over there shoulder for the duration of our time there. i later saw for myself why, in the food prep area i overheard someone barking orders and being quite rude to our lovely server. i later asked our server who was back there barking orders and i was informed it was a manager named Kristina, and that her actions could sometimes make the staff feel uncomfortable and on edge. it really put a damper on the whole ambiance for my kids and I. then before i left town i went back by myself and witnessed the same manager Kristina, drinking at the bar and still being loud and bossy from her stool. in my opinion the staff there deserves much better. read more
