The pastel de nata pastry was delicious. It was the same as an egg custard tart. The apple pie however was disappointing. Nothing like the chunky spice laden apple pie filling you find in the states. One morning, I showed up right before they opened at 7:30 and there were already people lined up. The pastries here (savory and sweet) were all incredible. Some of the best we had in all of Europe. We had to jump on line and drool over the display of sugary goodness. We each tried a different donut and was not disappointed!
