**Update** The tubs…read moreare great and the price is fair. But consistency is still a problem -- about two out of three visits you'll run into issues: 1. Weak water pressure - like a dribble. Ask which tub has best pressure before starting. 2. The hose is supposed to dispense shampoo. The issue is that they dispense so little you will barely notice it. Like no smell. No suds. Skip to the end: Bring your own Shampoo and you'll do fine. When you bring issues or questions up, prepare to be brushed off. Instead of acknowledging your feedback, you'll be gaslit. * Point out the missing shampoo? "No, we use light suds to help dog's skin." Except there aren't ANY bubbles at all. Spoiler alert - you won't smell it either. So... you can't see it or smell it. But it's there. Got it. * Mention the low water pressure? You'll be told "yeah, that's normal." It's not. It's like taking a shower with a sink faucet on low. Sometimes this place is great. If you want to bathe your dog with low pressure, very little shampoo, and get gaslit when you mention it, this is your spot. Pro tip: bring your own shampoo. The tubs really are great, pick one with good water pressure if you can find - just don't expect much else.

I've been coming to this Pet Food Express for the past few months since adopting my kitten, and…read moremany of the employees here have been genuinely nice and helpful. Unfortunately, I've now had two experiences that made me uncomfortable enough to stop shopping here. The first was a visit around 7:40 PM -- a full twenty minutes before closing. As soon as I walked in, the employee at the open register looked directly at me and then immediately checked his watch. Another employee was already cashing out a register. I grabbed what I needed quickly and went straight to checkout, but the same employee looked at me again and checked his watch a second time while ringing me up. I was out of the store in under ten minutes. After I got to my car, he even stepped outside and scanned the parking lot as if checking for anyone else coming in. I understand closing procedures, but the repeated watch‑checking and overall tone made me feel unwelcome despite being a fast, considerate customer. My second experience happened today. Both registers had customers when I walked in, but by the time I was ready to check out, I was the only person waiting. The woman at the register was preoccupied with something else and kept her back to me the entire time. She didn't acknowledge me at all. Eventually, she turned to another employee and said, "Would you ring her up?" -- without ever addressing me directly. It was another moment that felt unnecessarily dismissive. Because many of the staff are wonderful, I'm not writing this lightly. But there are a couple of employees who are just plain rude, and after two separate interactions that left me feeling unwelcome, I'm deducting two stars -- one for each experience.

I discovered this place just a little over 3 years ago and it's a gem of a pet store in this neighborhood. My dogs are always excited to run up to the register to get their treats. The cashier, who had the attitude of too good to be there and drywall combined, overcharged be on several items and then when I politely challenged it, he could not cope and another person came over and took over and corrected it. It was an overcharge of almost $9!! Not one single apology for the issues from either employee. Just rotten attitudes and I told them on the spot " and this kind of attitude is why I will never shop here again" to which one of them responded, sarcastically, as I walked out & cowardly to my back "have a blessed day" which is also disgusting christian behavior!!! I responded with choice words as I am DONE with this place!! There are too many options to endure this rude behavior & to be overcharged!!! We will spend our dollars elsewhere!!

Only different really is the parking situation. There's still parking to the side which they have a few spots reserved but the rest would be either metered parking or street parking. Old location was part of a little strip mall with plenty of parking. Regardless, this store still has everything that I need for my baby. They have the food that we like to get as some other chain doesn't carry them. The staffs are always so welcoming and very friendly. There's plenty of things that they carry. It's a small store but pretty much packed with everything you need. Loads of brands that they carry. There toys, treat, apparel, and so much more. Pretty sure you'll find whatever you need when you're here.

Plus, I was pleasantly surprised to find that some of the staff from the old store are now at this location, in particular the fabulous Taylor who is an absolute gem - great people skills, professional and very kind. Apart from food supplies, I like the fact that Urban Pet stocks a huge selection of high-quality accessories - toys, collars, scratchers, etc - that are not common anywhere else. This is a wonderful store, in business for eighteen years (meaning, they know what they're doing) with free off-street parking adjacent (right-hand side), and a wonderful loyalty scheme. Highly recommended.

The foundation also encourages more humane treatment for dogs worldwide and also assists dogs domestically. As part of this initiative, she opened the Vanderpump Dog Rescue & Retail center in Los Angeles. 100% of proceeds from sales & adoptions go to the foundation. They also offer grooming services. A few years ago, a friend of mine adopted a dog from here - a beautiful tripod chihuahua mix. She was happy with the adoption process and loves her little princess. I was having dinner next door and stopped in to check the store out. As expected, the place is meticulously perfect and the décor is bougie with lots of cute plush dog toys & merch. Off to the side is a section where the fur babies that are up for adoption reside in posh play pens with white picket fences. There is also a nice area on the rooftop where potential adopters can spend quality time with their future fur baby. The staff here are very friendly, and I got to meet one of the pups named Meatball as he was on his way out for a walk. Thank you LVP for your dedication to helping our furry friends. *Metered street parking
