Our cake from The Dog Bakery was a knockout success for my dog's first birthday. They're pretty large so the smallest cake size (round cake) still was more than enough for 3 dogs plus leftovers that we've used as kibble topper for the week. Besides the adorable decorations and super fair pricing, all of the dogs loved the flavor of the cake. Mine especially has been demand barking like crazy hoping to get a few more bites! Everything went well. I saw this place when I was browsing around the Goove and I decided to see if I wanted to buy something for Biscuit. That is the name of my dog. I've always made sure to celebrate my dog's birthday with a special cake. However, this year was disappointing. I arrived at 6:30 PM, well before their closing time of 9 PM, and asked about getting a cake. The staff member informed me that she had just taken the last cake order for the woman in front of me and was already making her cake. When I asked what time they normally stop taking orders, she told me, "Well, I'm closing up early, and I've already turned off the ovens." What made it even more upsetting was that my dog, whose birthday it was, was with me, and this is the first year he didn't get a cake. I believe a business dedicated to dogs should have empathy on how special these moments can be and not turn a customer down as they are watching them make a cake for another customer. Super Friendly Staff, Since yesterday was 4th of July and our Girl had a rough night with the fireworks and we were in the area decided to stop in and pick up a treat for her, since it was something new she was a little cautious and wanted it cut up into little pieces so she could eat it a little easier, but after cutting it up Nova made short work of the Mutterbutter treat. They were very helpful in telling us the prices of the items in the display case and gave us recommendations based on our dogs' size and taste preferences.  Food: We ended up getting the Animal Style Hamburger and Munchkins. The presentation of these treats was so adorable to the point that we were tempted to have a nibble ourselves. Since we're not LA locals, we had to take these treats back home on a plane ride, and we were pleasantly surprised to see how well the treats held up after several days. Our dogs were ecstatic to smell these treats when we brought them home, and they devoured them immediately! The hamburger patty was a biscuit-type treat, while the munchkins were softer and easier for smaller dogs to eat.  Overall: The Dog Bakery really cares about delicious, high quality treats for puppies. Ordered from here online for my dog's first birthday and he absolutely LOVED it! So happy they ship nationwide since I don't live in LA. The cake arrived 5 days before the day we selected so we just kept it in the freezer until his birthday. Seven years later and we are still loving this spot! I had to bumped this up to five stars because there isn't quite like a dog bakery like this. The customer service is just top-notched. Every single person who has helped me has been very friendly and helpful but not pushy. The store is small but they fill only the best dog products and it is well-curated. You will only by highly rated dog food and merchandise here. As for the dog baked goods, my dogs tastes change so it's fun to try new things. Since they are older, they prefer softer treats. Actually was walked right in here by my little angel, who had a heat seeking nose for all goodies she likes.
