Holy City installed a new hvac unit and all new metal duct work January 2025, for almost $22,000…read more During the winter, the unit ran a lot (I thought it was supposed to do that...duh on me). In February 2025, my power bill was $220, which was $80 more than when I had the old unit and duct work that was full of holes. I was told that my power bill would be much better. There were a total of 4 months where bill was significantly higher. Also, the thermostat was doing weird things, and I called them, but it got better on its own. In September, I was switching out summer shoes for winter, when I saw all my leather shoes were covered in mildew and or rotted, as was my leather recliner (in guest room so I don't see it frequently). Cabinets in spare bathroom had mildew, part of walls and another small leather chair that we don't really use. A friend that sells spray foam, told me that hvac is supposed to get rid of moisture. I had a technician come out, and he told me it was caused by water under my house and on the brick. ( I had accidentally left the hose running in that area a week prior). I had a termite inspection about a month earlier where they said there was no moisture. i asked for a second technician, A.C., and he spent about 2 hours at my home, then told me the unit had not been installed properly. The owner came over, looked at stuff and went into a 15 lecture about how customer friendly they are. I asked for compensation, and he called me an extortionist and said my shoes were from the 80's, which is laughable because I love new shoes. He went out to his car to leave, and he accused me of running down the street after him. He was parked on my grass, when I have a perfectly good circular driveway with no cars. I am contemplating small claims court, but what bothers me are the intangibles...I am a 70 yr old arthritic women who had to clean all that mildew. In addition, who knows what the long term affects the moisture has done to my home? Below are some photos, but most things werected cleaned up by then. THEY OFFERED ME NOTHING.

Then recently they came out because it didn't work. They got it to work at that time. A few months later it had the same problem. A guy came out and said it worked. Not. Had to call again and he said he didn't know it had a heat strip. Said he fixed it. He said it was covered by warranty. They said I owed $50. When I called a couple weeks later for the same problem the woman on the phone said they wouldn't service it. Go elsewhere!! James island a/c came out and said it was leaking Freon. He fixed it and done. I can say I would stay away from Holly City! Bad news. Terrible way to run a business.

Yesterday morning, I woke to an very heated home on a 90+ degree day. I called around, read reviews, and came across Preferred. From customer service to dispatch to service technician....EVERYONE was above exemplary in their approach to my concerns. Josh, was the service technician that served the moment. He took care to inform of foreseeable concerns, but admitted that even through his diagnostics couldn't narrow what triggered my issue. What could've been a very expensive call was minimally fiscally conservative in its service charge. The system was running again very shortly. And this morning, I rose to the comfort I have grown accustomed. PREFERRED is now my preferred HVAC/plumbing go to and I elected their PPP maintenance option. I'm looking onward to our working together,as I feel that they will remain honest, caring, and proactive in their service and commitment. Thank you

Member price for low price toilet and valve and work: low of $957 and high of $1538. I am not the brightest but that seemed like a ripoff. Ordered toilet and valve from Amazon for $255 and installation will be around $200. Preferred has done work for me in the past but now it makes me wonder how much I have overpaid.

The guy cleaned the drain and then decided to open the T&P valve on our water heater. That unseated the valve, causing 9,000 gallons to drain out of the hot water heater before we finally identified and corrected it. Between the water bills, electricity to heat all the draining water, and leak detection agency we are out $1000+. What did regional manager David R have to say when asked to be reimbursed? It was MY fault that there was sediment in the tank. Hello, your guy SHOULDN'T have touched the valve.... asked 3 plumbers to confirm it. He even had the nerve to say his list showed our tank was in good condition. Why were they looking at it at all? They were supposed to be snaking the HVAC drain. Feels like they created a problem to drum up business for a new hot water heater installation. Are they reimbursing us for the costs incurred by their negligence? His words: take us to court. We've gone many times and have never lost. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company!!!
