So my home's AC stopped blowing cold air. I messaged Carolina Climate Control for a service call…read moreestimate. After about 30 minutes I got a text saying service call charge was $79, but would be applied to any repair costs and to call them for an appointment. I called and explained the issue, but was told someone would call me back to schedule. Over an hour went by and no one called me, so I called back. Appointment was set and David B. showed up timely; he was professional and friendly. He determined my fan was dead and roughly estimated $500 to replace. Seemed like an expensive bandaid for a 14 year-old unit, so I decided best to just replace it. Next day Travis B. came to give me an estimate for a new unit. He was on time, friendly and professional. Gave me a quote before he left and it was just under $6K for new Ruud 14 seer unit. They took the $79 service call cost off the total (after I reminded them). Two days later the installers showed up on time to get my AC going. They were professional and it took them about 8 hours to complete the job. HVAC has worked fine since install. Only negative is they dripped something on my garage floor (I assume oil from the old air handler unit or from the lift they used to install the new one) that stained the floor all the way across my garage. I initially thought it was just water and would dry/disappear, but nearly two weeks later it's still there. But at least I have cold air!

So the service man Manny, came on a Saturday. He said our unit was covered in black mold. No reason…read moreto repair. But h cost was 6000.00 We called another company first thing Monday. It was the circuit board. It was 400.00 to repair. Still under warranty with Carolina climate through AIr One. Please get a second opinion!!

We opted not to get an outdoor kitchen ( which I do love) after having one catch fire in a brand new home we had built in Texas. FYI, the fire was all due to bad installation from the outdoor kitchen people , but it scarred me emotionally enough to only have a grill I can push into the back yard in case of emergency. After being told by first responders that my house would have exploded shortly, I knew we would be ever vigilant should we do this again. Al looked over the area and where the hook up valve was located and offered us sooooo many better options than where the builder had put it. He really knew his business and we were confident that for safety and aesthetics he was exactly the man for the job. And boy was he. He removed the old hook up valve which was poorly installed to start with( yes, this is a new home) and moved it to a much better location with all new hoses, connections and everything else needed for the job. Talk about a difference. He also had every tool for the job so there was no running back and forth to the store or back to the business. That was really nice. Carson, his apprentice was also incredibly helpful and found the wire needed in the grill to hook up to the starter. We were afraid that Lowe's wouldn't get there for the delivery in time and we would have to pay for another service call, but they made it just as they were finishing! A job WELL done!! Soooo, how do you like your steak?
