One dentist who doesn't play golf on Fridays. In January 2022 went to dental hygienist Farideh, at my last dentist Sunnyvale Dental. Delta Dental insurance notified me that my current provider was no longer covered. Checked Sunnyvale for dentists covered by Delta Dental, and Dr. Bev's name came up in Yelp. Yelper Henry M's Dr. Le shared quarters with this office. Called the office, confirmed that I was covered, and made arrangements for an appointment a month in advance. Office located in a corner brick building with entrances on both Maude and Mathilda. Plenty of parking, with drive through around the back of the building. Inside, very new and modern quarters, with state-of-the-art dental equipment. Light, airy environment. Fill out a questionnaire as long as a house refinance contract. The waiting room has all the glamor, gossip and travel magazines, but do they have Sports Illustrated? Dealmaker right there. No, but they do have Time. Large windows in the office with a view and lots of natural light. No need for the dentists to wear cyclops miner head lights on their forehead. Mouth is pulled out of shape by a series of cardboards inserted between my teeth and gums, for a full mouth x-ray. Dr. Witham comes over and starts the cleaning, using lots of elbow grease to scrape off the tartar building up on my teeth, one tooth at a time. She can even do the scraping without looking at my teeth, while looking and talking with the dental hygienist. One hour later, appointment done, and my mouth is really sore, with all that yanking and pulling. Felt like one hour in a head lock in WWF wrestling! Could have used the medicine man masks in the hallway to ward off the discomfort! Farideh, my favorite dental hygienist, used water pics to remove the tartar, but she now works with John Burkholder DDS in Menlo Park. Would I drive 33 miles round trip to Menlo Park? Yelper Henry M did to come to Dr. Le. Kaiser Delta Dental denied my claim for cleaning, saying that I am covered only through my assigned dentist. Cannot even switch my assigned general dentist to Dr. Witham, as she is with Delta Dental Premier. $679 costs of new patient consultation, new patient dental exam, full mouth x-rays, cleaning, fluoride treatments come out of pocket! Fortunately, I also have Lawrence Livermore National Security Delta Dental under my wife's name, costing about $100 a month, which will cover $199 of the revised $378 billing cost to LLNSDD. Check your coverage by calling the dental insurance company and speaking with a representative before visiting a new dentist. I cancelled my dental coverage with Kaiser Delta Dental, even though it costs only $9 a month. You get what you pay for. Top Doc!!!! Ok so a month ago one of my gold crowns fell off after 20 years of use. "On a Friday) My tooth looked black on the side like it was rotted. So I called my dentist 4 times and no return call, not even on the emergency number. When I got home from work my wifey suggested I give her dentist a call who's office is a half hour drive away. She said they are open on Saturday so..... I called and left a message after 6pm. The next morning (Saturday) I got a call from the office asking if I can be there in an hour!! I said sure!! When I got there they took me right back. The Dentist I saw was Ryan Le DDS. Was super nice and has a great sense of humor. Better yet after taking an x-ray and looking at my tooth he said it was in great shape and the the black I saw on my tooth was actually discoloration from the crown. He then cleared everything up and re-applied my crown. Total cost for my emergency Saturday visit "are you sitting down?) $79!!! Needless to say I stopped seeing my old dentist of 30 years. Today I came in for a full mouth x-ray and a cleaning. Dr.Ryan Le used a cavitron "I think that's what it's called" to clean my teeth. My experience both times was EXCELLENT. So happy I am his patient and believe me it's well worth the drive going to see him. read more

I came here to do my teeth cleaning And now I'm ready for more EATING! :D After all those Cupcake Crawls, froyo and ice cream, and YEEs, as yelpers we want to make sure our teeth are healthy and strong. So it's important to take care of your teeth! :) I've been having the most difficult time trying to find the right dentist. It's different when you move away from home and have to look for a new dentist on your own. For the past year I've been trying to find the right one. I've gone through two dentist, both somewhat dissatisfying experiences. Finally, one of my co-workers referred me to Dr. Witham. And I decided to give it another chance. Dr. Witham and all of her staff were very friendly and welcoming. They did such a thorough job during my first visit with the full x-ray exam, who knew it'd be 16 pictures worth! The visit was quite long, 2 hours, because it was my first time. The teeth cleaning was great and my teeth feels squeaky clean now! I'm really glad I made my appointment 2 months ago!! She's a very popular dentist and is booked until January! O_O *~*~* Dr. Witham asked me if I had any concerns... And this is what I told her.. haha You know I've always wanted to have retainers when I was younger? All the cool kids at school got them and they'd always have neat colors! I wanted a glow-in-the-dark one!! And I still do! Dr. Witham laughed when I told her this. She said I should be happy that I've never had the need for brace or retainers. But can't she just give me a retainer for fun? Anyways, I later told her I eat A LOT and have the sweetest tooth ever! She just laughed again and said that I'm doing a good job keeping my teeth healthy! I've been a patient of Dr. Bev's since 1989! I moved from the Bay Area to Pacific Grove 6 years ago, but my wife and I still make the 170 mile round-trip twice a year for our checkups. She is the simply the best: expert, reasonably priced, and a pleasure visit (particularly for a dentist). Highly recommended. read more

I invited her to my wedding. Yes, my dentist. If that doesn't convince you what a sweetie she is, nothing will. But she is also quite talented. We live up in Marin now, and three times I have tried to switch to a dentist who is more local, but finally I just gave up on new dentists who aren't as good, and I drive an hour and 20 minutes to see Dr. Witham. But, what I really like is that she is just the right amount of "conservative" in her approach. She's just not going to recommend something that the science and her experience has shown is unnecessary. You can really trust her advice. Which I've done now for, what, 21 or 22 years. read more

My entire family has been going to Dr. Witham for YEARS, literally generations! My grandparents, parents, and my sister and i all LOVE Dr. Witham. If you need a dentist in the Peninsula/South Bay area, she's your gal. She is very sweet, very thorough and very professional. She has great stories to tell and takes the time to really get to know her patients. The staff is also very friendly and thorough. You never feel like you're rushed in and rushed out and on to the next patient. They really take their time with you, giving you personalized service. When i was a kid, before i came to Dr. Witham, i was traumatized by hygienists and dentists who were way too rough- like they might as well have propped a foot on your shoulder to hold you down while they flossed you too hard, drilled away painfully, just all around too rough on the mouth region! Thank god Dr. Witham and her staff are not like that! They are gentle and I leave her office without any dental pain. My parents first found Dr. Witham around 13 years ago, and we have been going to her ever since. What I really appreciate is that, when I was without dental insurance, Dr. Witham worked hard to provide the most cost-effective care for me. She also once came in extra early when I chipped a tooth 36 hours before a big vacation, so I wouldn't be in discomfort while I was away. I've now grown up and moved away, but I still drive 45 minutes each way so I can continue going to Dr. Witham. I've even convinced my husband to come here and continue the family tradition. I have known Dr. Bev Witham and Dr. Uriu for many years. I can honestly say I can not find a better dental office. We miss regular visits there because my faminly & I have moved to Arizona but we return to S'vale whenever possible. We haven't found a more dependable or knowledgeable practice or one that is so well established. The staff is very dedicated to the Dr's and the patients. There is much experience between all of them with their many years of service together. They all have our best interest in mind. There is a calm atmosphere that gives a comfortable enviornment ...
