    a social distancing sign

i was impressed how Bevmo is operating while we are facing this pandemic. They have a pop up carry out only window and you order your alcohol online and then pickup. I love that they have a warning posted about social distancing. although not a big drinker i can enjoy a glass a wine on occasion. I decided to pick up some wine last Friday as we do not know how long we will be required to stay home and stay safe.

Really a horrible Bevmo. Go to the Total Wine around the corner! Save yourself! When I first walked in no one was at the front counters check out, didn't see anyone in the isles, just another customer. Finally when I'm ready to check out there's a guy having trouble with payment and/or coupons, I don't know but who cares? I wanted to purchase 1 non alcoholic drink and there's 2 staff members there and yet you can't open the next register to check me out? Literally only us as 2 customers in the store. And next to the guy is even more product like someone left it or they're holding a place in line? Why is it there blocking my ability to set things down? Pull it behind the counter and check out people without any problems so we can give you our money and be on the way. Simple. Customer service atrocious. Didn't apologize or say ANY THING when I was very polite and expressed I couldn't wait. Honestly I think they were racist and/or sexist and yes both men and women can hate young ladies!

Scott helped me get in and out in under 5 mins! Can't beat that. Store was super clean, easy to navigate and fully stocked! Basil Hayden - bottles (yes multiple!) and done! And who doesn't need pocket shots? Hmmm intriguing....

She made it seem like we were there to get drunk??? She had an attitude basically the whole time she was talking to me. For no reason. At one point I said "never mind" and wanted to walk away but she tried to make up for her attitude and gave us a couple options to try. The tequila was great and both my boyfriend and I agreed we were gonna come back to purchase the Suavecito (but we already had our hearts set on a wine from a wine sample we tried). The gentleman at the wine section was a whole lotttt friendlier. Since we tried a couple of tequila samples and didn't buy any tequila at the time, when we walked away, she said "All that and you still didn't buy anything". Girl. The attitude. Just flat out rude. If you're so miserable at your job, find a new one. Also it's so uncomfortable being followed around the whole time you shop there. Literally feels like hawks around you. I definitely won't be back. The wine is good tho!

We used our quarterly Amex Rezy credit for our dinner. Had I paid the full $150 out of pocket I'd have been pretty disappointed. Before I spend that kind of money unless you're trying to impress a date of business associate I'd save my money and eat at that place with Texas in the name. For you anniversary you get a glass of champagne and for your birthday you get dessert. Maybe I'll try the Happy Hour. I did forget one thing. The Alex salad. At $14 it's a joke. I asked our server if the salad was large enough to share? It was but the menu says if you order the salad with an entree it's only $10. The waiter added the $14 salad because the $10 salad isn't enough to share. Also what kind of steak house doesn't have a wedge? Wedges are always enough to split. And many places have an option to split for a few dollars more. The cost of soups and salads is getting out of hand.

A weary traveler arrives and sits down at his favorite bar--Bottleshop48, located at 3318 S McClintock Dr, Tempe, AZ 85282, in the Aldi shopping center. He orders a crisp glass of Bottleshop Water, known to the regulars simply as "water," and rests for a moment as a film begins to play on the main TV. Brad and Angelina appear. It is Mr. and Mrs. Smith, the acclaimed 2005 action/comedy. A small tear rolls down his face; finally, he will be able to enjoy Mr. and Mrs. Smith from start to finish. Finally, his life will have meaning beyond the crude dionysian pursuit of wine, women, and song. Today, he thinks: "my suffering will end: I am free from the banality of the world outside, with a full 2 hours of action/comedy to enjoy, cold drink in hand, hale companions to my left and to my right." But this man was mistaken. Instead a challenger appears--a man from the wrong side of the tracks, a man bent on ruining our hero's uninterrupted viewing of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Shockingly this newcomer requests the TV remote. He brazenly downloads the Sling Freestream app on the TV. He scrolls through the Sling Freestream app's numerous free ad-supported options and chooses--impossibly--Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the 1975 comedic send-up of the grim circumstances of the Middle Ages as told through the story of King Arthur and framed by a modern-day murder investigation. Our hero protests meekly, in earnest: "but I was watching Mr. and Mrs. Smith." "Oh sorry," the upstart pretender responds, surprised that someone would be so interested in seeing the end of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Does our hero challenge this cruel usurper to fisticuffs for the TV remote? No. Does he chuck a beer at this sadistic lover of classic British humor? No. Does he strip naked and dance atop the bar in a lewd manner to assert his dominance over the TV? He does not. A man of peace--a true lover not a fighter and a known Ryan Gosling look-alike--our hero grits his teeth and accepts the excruciating truth that he will see no more of Brad and Angelina on this night. He simply pays his tab and exits into the freezing late April air, never to know true happiness. Never to experience complete extasy. Never to see the end of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
