I haven't been to a World Market in forever!! I came to this location since it's the closest one to me. It doesn't seem like it gets super busy because the parking lot was not packed at all. I had no complaints about that, though! The sis sent me to get her crazy cat lady wine from Germany. You see the pics? The red and pink cat wine bottles? Yeah, not for me, lol. Now if they had a turquoise or teal one, I may have bought it. I also found some tea that she also requested. Prices aren't too bad here, especially if you sign up to be a member. I'm not a member, but all I had to do was enter my sister's email or phone number and the discount came off. Nice! This place has imports from all over the world, hence the name of the establishment. They had a clearance section as well. 75% off holiday items that were left over. You'll find products from Hawaii, Japan, UK, and more! I even found the Cadbury chocolates from the UK, but too bad they didn't have my favorite one! =/ It was expensive, but if you're desperate, you'll pay, lol. Ordered something online stood by the online pickup watching the 1 cashier check people out and page for other cashiers for about 10 min. Found my product myself, eventually the other person who was supposed to be in charge of pickups waddled her way up, girl was a mess, looked like she rolled out of bed and into work and very unfriendl. She did not assist at all and i wound up paying 10% more because i just purchased the item rather then pickup my online order, which isn't fair to me the customer but it was better then dealing with the attitude of the online pickup person who clearly isn't interested in doing her job. read more

I've been shopping at this World Market location for many years. It used to be in a smaller location across the street before relocating here. World Market was once Cost Plus World Market until Bed Bath and Beyond sold them in 2021. In the earlier days, I shopped here for furniture and bottles of wine for my wine collection. Then I started buying their coffee products. They had a killer coffee program back in the day where I would get a free bag of coffee here and then. Their current points program is ok, but I don't I get as many incentives as I used to. World Market sells many specialty and import products. You can find all sorts of stuff like home furniture, kitchen products, decor, rugs, and gifts. In the grocery section are international food products, coffee, beer, and wine. My favorite time to come here is during the holiday seasons when they stock the shelves with lots of fun Fall and Winter products. When it is not the holidays, my regular products I buy here are extra virgin olive oil, coffee, pasta, and any snacks I can't find in regular grocery stores. Even though World Market has changed a lot over the years, I've always enjoyed the International theme here mostly because of my time being overseas. I have on purchased items here and not ordered furniture or specialty products. Being from British Columbia, Canada, I smile as I walk down the rows of British foods. Familiar products such as Coffee Crisp, Mint Aero, Cadbury Chocolate bars, Heinz beans, Maynards wine gummies to McVities cookies will be recognized by fellow Canadians or Brits. I've seen Coleman's, Sharwoods, Robinson's and even PG tips tea items on the shelves. As expected, you pay a premium price but sometimes it is worth it to have a taste of home! Shout out to Lydia and the manager, Monica (I think) who helped us. Lydia especially went above and beyond with a great attitude and lots of patience - she called several other area locations (sometimes two at once, juggling a land line and cell phone) to piece together the full order that we wanted. Not only did they arrange everything for us and strategize to limit the number of other locations we'd have to drive to, they also honored a buy online/pick up in store discount AND helped us load our vehicle. I was going to write a good review anyway, but after visiting the two other stores (Gilbert and Tempe) and encountering very different service - including rude manager Stephanie at Tempe, who scolded me for info not being communicated to her by someone else and then rang us up inaccurately - I'm even more appreciative of Lydia. read more

I went shopping here today, my day off, in which, was fun, until Sharron (Employee) was being rude! Sharron walked right passed me to another lady on the same isle and asked her, if she needed help with anything! Sharon not only ignored me but, then she followed me around the store. I asked myself, do I look like I would steal or was it the size of my purse that I was carrying that made her behave this way? In anycase, I attempted to ignore her and kept browsing and shopping until she followed me up to the front of the store. She did a good job playing it off as I began to take pictures but, she was rude and should be told that not everyone is out to ruin their lives by going into a crafty furniture store to steal or whatever it was that she thought that I was going to do! I didn't let her ruin my day but, I continued to shop for the items I needed. I would've purchased more but, I took the rudeness that Sharron handed out, as a red flag to save some money and to leave. Hopefully, management can have a word with Sharron about being rude and following "myself" or anyone else that she may have followed! I'd like to believe that this was just a thing with me and no one else has gone through this! I love this store because of the neat things inside and because you can find things here that you have never seen before. I went to search for gifts for a tea party but was unable to really find anything pertaining to my real reason for visiting this establishment. This chain has always been one of my favorites. Its a place that has all the things that remind me of my childhood and it puts me in my happy place. I also LOVE all the different, fun drinks they have available. I don't drink alcohol so when I find stores with a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, I'm sold. I received an outfit for Christmas as a gift. It was too large. I didn't have the receipt but the price tag was still on the clothes. When I brought it in to exchange for a smaller size, or to get a store credit, I was told there are no returns for clothes without a receipt. Bad business, and I will not be a customer to poor policies (and the manager was rude). read more

Each store subdivision featured a new, different theme. I miss this store so close to my stomping grounds. But everything changes and I will move with the times. This is the place to purchase the hard to find seasoning and no-perishable food items. We like World Market a lot. Lots of interesting items here and always something new to browse and consider taking home. I particularly like the food section where I can find new and exciting spices or other tasty treats. There's also a nice collection of fragrant soaps and lotions. Nice store. We came here after Bed Bath & Beyond employee recommended it to us. They've got an assortment of stuff for the home ranging from candles, incense, rugs, doormats, wall art, kitchen ware, and furniture. Overall, the quality of the items from what we have witnessed is pretty good. The only items we got here that weren't that great were small candle holders that melted at the bottom. Apparently while in use they got so hot the bottoms melted out. The good thing was they were only 99 cents. I'm guessing the manufacturer realized their mistake because the new ones don't have plastic bottoms; they have just the metal plate for holding the candles. At least everything else I got is still in one piece. read more

I have been searching all over the Chandler/Phoenix area looking for a certain soda that I really like, which become very scarce as of late. We found this World Market location in Chandler and they happened to have several bottles. They were of course on the highest shelf in the store. Sharon a manager at this store was so accommodating she quickly got a ladder and got them all down for me. She went further than that after I shared how long we had been searching for it, she called another location, this one near Queen Creek and talked to Diane there and she had her save all 37 bottles for me. Diane even had them ready for us when we arrived about 30 minutes later! These two lovely ladies made me so happy I can't say enough about their customer service skills. I will be returning to World Market (hopefully for more soda) and certainly to spend time looking through the stores which have such an eclectic range of items you won't just find anywhere else! This Cost Plus location seems more spacious and spread out than the Tempe Marketplace location which is nice. Selection is similar and their clearance holiday items were very tempting. If you sign up to be on their frequent customer list you always seem to get some kind of coupon or discount you are able to use, plus you get a special discount on your birthday month! The selection in general is great for home goods, food and wine, and decorations. Where else can you get Spanish chorizo, a can of mushy peas, and decide between 3 different types of harissa all in one spot? :) read more

Extremely rude staff. In an inflationary economy, retailers need to be adjusting to selective buyers w better customer service habits. This location has no idea what it takes to retain good, loyal customers. A simple return turned into a blood boiling fiasco. All due to the fact they have poor training and take zero accountability for their mis-managed habits. The pretend "manager" was unwilling to find a way thru handling my return and was completely ok sending me away w my transaction pending. When I shared the details of my interaction w the actual manager, he was not much help either. I dated a woman who loved World Market so I have been dragged to quite a few in my day and they are all the same. Tacky, gaudy, and brassy home goods is primarily what they sell and that is not my thing. However, they do have some good/funny greeting cards, and on occasion you can score some really good artisan chocolate. Other than that I think they are overpriced for the junk they sell. read more

I tried to order a couch online to have it shipped to the store. What a nightmare! It has been less than a pleasant experience. The issue has yet to be resolved. Fortunately the manager at this location Chris Barth has been extremely helpful. She researched the issue and she called me back with an answer. Disenchanted with the snarky employees at the Camelback location, I ventured to the Chandler store and loved every minute shopping here. The inventory is more diverse and interesting at this store. The sales floor is organized and much cleaner and this World Market location has the friendliest staff BY FAR. The manager went out of his way to make sure I got to use my coupon when the code wasn't being accepted into their computer system. Friendliness goes a long way in making shoppers happy. This is something the Chandler store has mastered and made an art. read more

I wish I did not have to be here writing this review today. I wanted to like this place- all the great wine, the trendy decor and the wonderful furniture. Oh the furniture... First, I wanted a fog kendall sofa that was showing out of stock but that it would be in within two weeks. So at that point I thought a few weeks wasn't bad so why not just get a raincheck and wait for it. I gave my deposit and was told that it was absolutely non refundable. A couple weeks later when I hadn't heard from them I called to check up on the date and was told it was on the truck from the warehouse and should arrive any day. Another 2 weeks later still nothing so I called again to this time be told that it is not available for another 3 months. No way! Since the sofa is available online, I was given the option to jump through all of these hoops.... - Go into the store to get my deposit back -Go place the order online at a higher price plus the surcharge totaling a $260 increase in price for me -Then bring that receipt back to the store and they will do an exchange and honor the coupon that I originally used for the raincheck, This can't possibly seem like a reasonable resolution to them. I am sad to have to walk away from this sofa, but I refuse to be screwed over with no candor or concern from the company. Whoever trains this store on proper business etiquette should definitely re-visit the topic with them. I have to provide an update on the quality of the products we purchased. We paid about $1000 for our dining table and chairs. The table wood has started to lift and warp. You put a hot dinner plate on the table and it turns the wood white. The 2 end chairs that are cushioned are now very springy. You feel the springs in the chairs. We've only had the set since March (about 5 months). I'd highly advise to stay away from their products. Terrible quality. read more

I love this Cost Plus location. The staff is really friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The clearance sections have all kinds of goodies. I always come here first when looking for interesting table decor for parties. They always have unique and fun seasonal merchandise. And their weekly ad usually has some coupon for a percentage off your purchase. Really great prices on wines and huge selection compared to say Trader Joe's. 10% off if you buy 6 bottles. They have a great little beer section too. You can buy single bottles, build your own 6 pack, or buy a prepackaged variety of beers from around the world. I find Cost Plus far superior to Pier 1 Imports, its main competitor. The prices are lower for the same quality. And of course Pier 1 doesn't have the extensive selection of alcohol or international foods (although they seem to be trying to stock more edibles lately). Which reminds me, one of my favorite things about Cost Plus is the baskets! They have a million to choose from and you can fill them with all sorts of foodie goodies plus a bottle of wine for a last minute housewarming gift or whatever. And they have greeting cards, paper, and all the trimmings you need to make your gift pretty. Huge fan of this place! read more

Pretty good store. Deserves 4 * from me. Well, maybe more like 3.75* but whatever. Has a nice selection of somewhat a bit more "Off the beaten" path stuff. Anything from picture frames, to pictures, to furniture, rugs, cloth, food and booze. Anyone can find something they like at the store. Their furniture is cool and often artisan crafted in some back water countries. Makes it unique and interesting. We have a trunk from them and its pretty neat. Trinkets isles are cool and offer wide selection of useless junk to blow your hard earned money on. I usually skip food section as its not very exciting, especially with AJs beeing next door. Now, wine section is something i spend my time on. They have wine from all over the worls from CA to Greece. I really like coming here because they have so many things that I am just entertained even if I don't go in to necessarily buy something.. though I usually always end up buying something because their prices are GREAT. Their kitchen stuff has great prices (on the order of .80c and 1.50 for some little gadgets!), as that's the section where I usually start my browsing. Their food/drink section is impressive in variety and regions and is well too stocked for me to spend lots of time perusing... I'll just end up buying more chocolate or more wine than I already need. But I've found some fun and unique treats there as me-gifts or gifts for others. Their furniture stuff can be a bit pricey, but I like that is is more 'unique' and has a 'worldy' look to it. Also, they have TONS of little chotchkies (sp?) - so if you like looking at chotchkies, this is the spot. Almost forgot to mention - they double charged me on something and I went back the next day to tell them about it to get it fixed and they easily and quickly fixed it.. no hassle, no problems, no looking at me suspiciously.
