10/10 -- I genuinely don't understand why anyone would buy liquor anywhere else. I have zero idea why someone would shop for alcohol outside of this store. Truly. It's the cleanest liquor store I've ever stepped into, the staff is consistently lovely, and every single person who works there seems wildly competent -- like you accidentally wandered into a management meeting instead of a retail store. Every time I go in, I leave wondering, "Who is actually the manager here?" because everyone operates with that level of ownership and care. It's rare. Especially in California, where customer service can sometimes feel... optional. Today sealed it for me. There was a woman in front of me who was brand new to wine and planning an event. Instead of rushing her through checkout, one of the staff members walked her through what to serve, how much to buy, what would pair well -- the whole thing. Then he casually mentioned that you can actually request a tasting with their general manager, where they'll open multiple bottles and guide you through them so you feel confident in your picks. Excuse me? Since when does a liquor store offer sommelier-level consulting? Meanwhile, other stores (you know the ones) are charging significantly more for half the service and none of the personality. Here? They'll open a bottle. They'll educate you. They'll never rush you. They're always fully staffed -- like four knowledgeable people on the floor at all times -- and they even offer to load your car. Every. Single. Visit. Who does that anymore? The pricing is equally wild. Buy-one-get-one-for-five-cents promos. Case clear-outs in the center of the store -- today I saw $40 cases of wine that retail for around $20 a bottle. It's almost more affordable than Costco, but without the fluorescent lighting and existential dread. They also price match. They do tastings. Fun activations. Sampling. The selection is massive, but it doesn't feel like a chaotic bulk warehouse. It feels curated. Intentional. Thoughtful. I haven't been to every location, but this one? Impeccable. If I'm buying liquor in California, I'm buying it here. Period. Customer service, pricing, selection -- 10 out of 10 across the board. Would not cheat on this store. read more

My significant other and I visited this location yesterday to purchase some wine. We were instantly greeted which was nice (that's what the one star is for) The employee advised us to let him know if we needed any help and my boyfriend told the employee I wanted some wine and told him thank you. We went straight to the wine aisle. About 2 minutes later another employee came out of nowhere and said "welcome in" but we had already been in there a couple minutes. Then about 30 seconds later the first employee that greeted us had came down the wine aisle and said hello to us again. Then another couple minutes passed and here comes the second employee asking us if we needed any assistance. I told him no. It was definitely an uncomfortable experience because they just wouldn't allow us to take our time and browse but they weren't bothering the other customers that frequently. Yes we are African American and we could visibly see them keeping an eye on us and trying to rush us out. I'm not sure if this location has been a victim of theft in the past, but we didn't do it. My boyfriend and I really wanted to confront the two employees and let them know how uncomfortable they made us, but we purchased our two bottles of wine and left. I like the look of BevMo after converging with the food company. I like to take advantage of the 5-cent sales but, lately, the best 5-cent wines are limited. Many of my favorites are not on the shelf. I don't know if the supply is dwindling, or if they are not getting on the shelf. The new rules for showing your ID are a bit of a drag. I've seen people being turned away and more signs at the door should be displayed. After the food addition took away from the wines which is a drag. The food is an alright option but now we can be secure they are fresh. Before the food convergence, the cheese and meats were stale at one or two of the stores. read more

I don't live in the area, but I'm already impressed that their Bevmo is so much nicer than the ones I visit in Sacramento. This was a super clean store with some nice employees and all the liquor you could ever dream of finding. It also made a convenient bathroom stop when we were down visiting the area. Overall, I am more of a Total Wine fan. They really know what's up when it comes to spirits, tasting notes, customer service and variety. Most Bevmo's I find miss that mark, bu this was one of the better stocked ones with a lot of spirits I've never encountered at any other store. They all seemed priced reasonably and there were two employees on hand who were more than willing to help me out. read more

The BevMo in Greenbrae is alright. Massive store filled with a decent variety of well priced wines and some harder to find high-end wines. Good bubbly section both cold and reserve. I'm normally not a big box liquor store fan and try to shop at smaller stores but this was a special stop for a specific item I couldn't find elsewhere. All good though, this location was well stocked and clean and had what I needed. Friendly service and well organized, like most BevMo's are. It was oddly empty which is something I've never experienced before. I was the only one in the store aside from the two employees. Felt like a private shopping experience. What I bought wasn't on sale and fairly high (special tequila). Not sure if it was over priced but I made the purchase any way and happy. Looks like the have good buy one wine get another one for 5¢ program running currently. some good values there. read more

BevMo! has Mo Bev than you're ever gonna need! And that's a good thing. This store is like the Costco of beverages. I only shop here when I'm hosting a large party and need to buy booze in bulk. And believe me, you can get plenty of boozy bang for your buck at this store (more so than at other liquor stores or supermarkets). You can easily stock a full bar for 20+ guests at your next house party for under $100 (I'm talking 1.75 LTR bottles of premium spirits; decent wines for under $15; 12-packs of beer for $16; etc.). BevMo! also offers a decent selection of cheeses + snacks to pair with your libations. Plus, you can pick up plasticware & other party necessities. This location has plenty of free parking outside. The staff here is always super helpful. And the lines are never long. I highly recommend this store for all you party planners/home entertainers out there! read more

Great stock... Found some large bottles of Fever Tree ginger beer, and snatched many up. This is by far the most premium stuff I have ever tried, and by now, I've gone through about 4-5 labels. For the latest batch of Stone Brewing's big 9.4%abv DIPA that's meant to be enjoyed fresh, this BevMo in Greenbrae was where I got my 04.20. & they had cases of the stuff just sitting around. Oh sure, Stone made a lot more of this batch of Enjoy By than any previous batch. But I think it also shows that many Marinites are more interested in wines than beers. It's all good. They don't know what they're missing out on & it's more Enjoy By for me! This is just for the customer service. During this crazy difficult times you would think people would be nicer and kind theses days.My husband went to pick a bottle of whiskey we had ordered 4/20 at 4:00 pm and we paid for the big bottle 1.75 liter.for $32.99 and they gave us the small bottle. We have the email that's had the price and confirmation and he was totally rude and the older gentleman said I don't know every price of each bottle in the store and ripped the bag from his hands. And was a complete jerk about it. Not even trying to rectify the problem. He could have graced the correct bottle but he said he will cancel the order. He could have been a little bit nicer. Great customer service!! I ordered a few cases of wine to be delivered, and they accidentally gave some of the wrong items to the Shipt shopper (who does the delivery for the store). I called to complain and the error was corrected, and then some, I had the corrected delivery within an hour. Thank you to the team. I normally shop in store, and they have an outstanding selection of spirits, wine and beer. If you join the loyalty program, they offer some nice discounts, in addition to their 5cent sales. Just horrible customer service. They are definitely understaffed. I waited 10 minutes after pushing a button for service just to get him to unlock a case for a bottle. The guy kept walking past me literally six times and I finally said I just need you to unlock that case and take a bottle out. He ignored me and left and I said it again the next time he came back and he ignored me again. Finally about 15 mins later he unlocked the case. When I went to get in line all the same people that were in line 15 minutes before had not moved. The guy who waited on me finally opened up another cash register and three people moved over ahead of me and after about five more minutes I was checked out. And I mean now I'm "checked out". Not sure if it was actually the employees or they were just understaffed Luckily, this is not my local store and I actually haven't even been to a BevMo or any liquor store in about 10 years but this will keep me away at least another 10 years. I have always sensed some kind of weirdness amongst the employees here. They seem to be void of every skill and personality aspect that a successful customer service worker needs (or even a decent human being interacting with fellow humans). Recently my car battery failed in the parking lot; I asked the employees (about 4 of them all gathered up front) if anyone could give me a jump. I was the ONLY person in the store. Each and every one of them looked at me with blank stares and said absolutely nothing. I then very meekly asked if I could use their phone to call a friend because I'd left my phone at home. Again, blank stares from each of them. After a few seconds, someone said they could dial for me...very begrudgingly. I believe each and every one star review of this particular store. It was really fun, and the team let us take our time which was refreshing after running a lot of wedding errands and planning. I don't go here that often, but they do carry one beer, Hoffbrau Munich Lager, that is so awesome that sometimes I make a detour. The great thing about this BevMo is that almost every time I've ever been here, it's like the Secret Service closed it to everyone but me. There are no other customers, just me and 3 employees. Very peaceful and quiet, like a library. A library with very few books and a crazy amount of alcohol. Some of the staff are clueless, but every BevMo seems to have at least one employee who really knows their stuff. Please don't close this location, Mr. BevMo. A wide selection of beer (CA well represented!), wine and booze kept me interested for the better part of 30 minutes. I was especially pleased with their selection of Eau de Vie. While not the biggest liquor store I've ever been to it was definitely a positive experience and I'm glad that it's close to where I live. The prices with the club card were pretty damn great. BevMo! is pretty good when you want to pick up a pretty pricey bottle (for example, they have Dom Perignon for $119 in the box for 2000 vintage instead of the usual $140+, but then again CostCo sells it for that much too).... It's nice that this is kind of a one stop booze party shop. You can get pretty much any kind of alcohol here (hello recently-made-US-legal absinthe and Heini mini-keg) plus candy, chips, nuts, stemware or beer steins, and those cute little 1 or 2 oz bottles of liquor for when your want to keep a nip in your purse or jacket pocket (haha!). The one thing I don't like about this place is that the staff is a little too friendly and familiar sometimes. Don't get the wrong idea, I rarely come here, but I'm a spring chicken compared to the lot that come here, and some of the late-20s/early 30-something men that work here like to boast about their drinking and clubbing prowess. I just moved to Mill Valley a mere three months ago. I moved from my beloved Brooklyn for a new job. This job has turned out to be a circus. A true cuckoo bananas, nut factory. This causes me to need a drink. BevMo comes in handy for that need. I decided that margaritas sounded particularly good on one particular night. I walked in for margarita mix and a nice bottle of tequila. NOT ONLY can I get those two ingredients but I could potentially purchases everything for my night which could include various snacks, cheese, and that always pleasant after drink cigar.
