Bevmo is my local "go-to" for my favorite alcoholic beverages. They have a great selection of beer, wine, sake and hard liquors. Their selection goes from the inexpensive to the expensive. I have found their staff to be knowledgeable and willing to assist. The store is always clean and well-organized. I like the weekly tastings where you can try something before you buy. The only downside (and the reason for 4 stars) is the cramped feeling of the store. During sales and holidays it's tough to get around with a cart (which you need to purchase all the goodies). I also like the variety of edibles from crunchy chips to cheeses and meats. It's a one-stop spot for all your party needs! read more

Really clean and has a side selection. Great if your having a dinner party and need different kinds of wines or beer. It's kinda pricy but worth it. They also have snacks that go with beer and drinks that helped. It's a small location but houses a lot. I would come again when I want I try some new wines. I like the selection of California wines though like most (NOT ALL) places in this state other wine regions like say, Oh I don't know, FRANCE, are a little under represented. What I really like is the fact that they carry Moose Drool. My dad and I discovered it in Montana (Big Sky Brewing Company) and he LOVES it. (I LIKE it.) We looked for about 4 years and couldn't get it anywhere closer than the Bay area. Then BevMo moved in and made my dad happy. What more can I ask for? Its like the walmart of liquor stores. They will definitely have what you are looking for. They also have some really exotic mixers as well that I hadnt seen. I popped in the other night because I was craving my new favorite wine: Tormaresca Neprica. I found it immediately and decided to browse around for something different. I asked about any Pinotages that they might have and Amanda took me right over and pointed out some other good wines. She raved (literally) about a great spanish Jumilla that was in her opinion one of the best wines ever. I grabbed a bottle and cooked up a couple of steaks after letting the wine breathe for an hour. I make it a habit to go to Bevmo every week to pick up something. I can spend an hour just cruising through the aisles of single beers. I got over the beers that are being mass produced and sold in the cold section. I wanted change; I make it a point to try a new beer every time I go. I've had everything from Baltika no.9, which leaves a burning sensation in the back of your throat. To the Fiddlers Elbow with has got to be one of the best beers I've had in a while. Even though the beers are warm on the shelf, just throw them in your freezer for 20 minutes and it'll bring them to a nice refreshing coolness. The Bevmo on Katella in Cypress is much bigger than the one on PCH. Either way if you go to Bevmo, try something new. You might find a diamond in the ruff. read more

I just got married 2 weeks ago & this Bevmo not only helped walk me through best wedding selections, how much I'll need for x amount if people, but their delivery was even on time and perfect! After visiting a total wine in Tustin and experienced disgustingly snooty service trying to find goose island Black Friday bourbon county stout, I obviously left highly disappointed. On a mission to find this brew, I called my BevMo! in Long Beach. I spoke to who I found out later a new associate, Dyan. I asked two simple questions. Do you have Goose Island Bourbon Stouts in stock? Is there a Black Friday limit? She was very eagered to help and asked another associate. Quick direct answers. Yes they have a few left in stock and they recently removed the 2 bottle limit. She even went on to tell me where they're located once I walked in the store. "Displayed in the front first register" 6 additional words added on our quick phone conversation made me feel super valued and special. The person assisting her on the other end was amazing. I can tell they had a great team relationship. I got to the store location, greeted by the cashier which I find out is Dyan. Bevmo does hike up the price on their wines so that you think you're getting a deal by buying the 2nd bottle for $.05. I don't fall for that but went in there to check their wine selection which I didn't find all that exclusive. I shop at Trader Joe's and I'm a member of a wine club so I know a little bit about some of the good wines and I didn't see any being sold here at Bevmo. So that I'd be fair I tried their wine tasting which for $5 I tasted about 5-6 different wines in this crowded section of the store one Saturday and a couple of the Imported wines they were sampling were good but all the California wines I tasted were not so good. I'm not sure if Bevo just buys what wineries are about to pour down the drain but from the few CA wines I tasted, it sure appeard this way. Now, they do carry more things in there like cheeses and hard liquor and for that I have this Bevmo 2 stars. See for yourself though to be fair and then go back to Trader Joe's and compare quality and prices. read more

Well, I used to like it and have bought wine, spirits, and mixers there all the time, but never again. I purchased a magnum size bottle of Chateau Montelana and recently opened it for a special occasion. After one sip, I knew it was spoiled. Our boys also tasted and immediately agreed. It also looked like the cork wasn't right either so I took it back to Bevmo in Long Beach. I was told their return policy was 7 days so they refused to replace the wine or offer a refund. No exceptions. Who purchases alcohol and drinks all of it within 7 days? I still can't believe they refused to take care of the customer. $100.00 down the drain. If this would have happened at Costco, any grocery store, or the winery direct, there would not have been an issue. Bottom line, don't buy your wine from Bevmo.
