Came here in August with my dad. My moms bday was soon, and we needed 2 cases of red wine and one case of white wine and 5 bottles of sparkling wine. My dad had his favorites but we (we I meant them- my family) wanted to try some thing else. I'm not good with wine, so I don't know anything. My dads friend who gifts my dad wine and liquor all the time recommended him a brand to us. My dad showed a photo to the staff member that helped us. He found it right away. There was only one box out and he went to get another box for us. He so carefully places it in our cart. My dad was able to taste test some white wine. We got some thing on the lighter fruitful side. As for sparkling, we got the classic Chandon Rose Sparkling, yes that was my choice LOLS This location is really big. It's bright and clean. They have a small lot outside for easy parking. I already spoke to Bryan, the store manager about this but just needed to document this on Yelp so this does not happen to anyone else. I needed assistance with pricing on an expensive bottle of scotch in a locked display case. No price was listed. The call button was broken. (I pressed several times no one came) I walked to the front and asked an employee by the name of WINSON (I know weird name but I asked for the spelling) for help. He immediatedly glared as if I was bothering him. I showed him the scotch and he blurted "Hurry up, quit F****ing wasting my time". Stunned, I asked him what he said. He repeated "Quit wasting my F***ing time!" He then bolted to the back store room. All on camera. The guy just did not want to help me. I thought maybe he was mentally retarded or touched. I complained to the assistant store manager, Rey. He told me he was not retarded. Anyway this was the rudest, unprofessional behavior. He should be canned or not allowed to interact with customers. On June 9th at Approximately 7:30pm, myself, and my friend walked into the Bevmo on 201 Bayshore Blvd, and proceeded to walk the beer section of the store. We walked out of the store after we could not find any alcohol we wanted. As we walked out the security guard who was distracted facing the outside of the store stopped us and said that we no longer were allowed in the store.  My friend opened her small bag and only her wallet was in the bag. I emptied my jacket and pants pockets and I only had a phone, wallet and earbuds. We proceeded to ask for the store manager's name, and the corporate phone number. The sales lead, Pearl she said her name was, said we get these types of thefts all the time, and the guard just wanted to prevent you from taking stuff. My friend and I asked for the name of the guard, the guard mockingly responded NO, you have a blessed day. I responded both of you will get fired for racial profiling. Pearl said you have a bag, you were stopped.  My friend then said everyone here has a bag, did you stop them? Then she asked the guard, did you see me take anything? The security guard then says I was talking to my coworker I didn't see anything? My friend responds, why was I stopped? Then said I'm a manager myself, we are talking about this situation, you can't just lump all customer interactions into this situation. Pearl said while looking tired, this is above my pay grade. I'm tired I wanna go home. Brian is the store manager, he gets paid to deal with this. As a Lead, Why are getting paid at all falsely accuse of theft? Makes no sense. read more

BevMo - short for Beverages and More - is a west-coast chain which sells alcohol, smoking products, and party supplies like drinking glasses, food trays, and cheese. The Bayshore location is fancy compared to other liquor stores I've been to: it's well-stocked, well-lit, and CLEAN. It wasn't crowded that day (Saturday afternoon) so there was plenty of parking. I had a hankering for Soho Lychee liquor (as of right now, it's impossible to get in Pennsylvania) so friends and I went off on a semi-wild goose chase, calling many stores until we hit BevMo Bayshore. The first few locations had either one or zero bottles left, but Bayshore had three. (For the curious, we bought their three remaining bottles.) My friend also scored us a discount with his BevMo membership card. (Note to self: get one of those next time I'm in the area.) Looking for alcohol that's not terribly obscure? Their selection and prices seem fine. In this time of stay-at-home, they must be overwhelmed by delivery orders because ours was delivered the next day afternoon(!) about 18 hours late. Accepted the delivery (and tipped the nice delivery lady) because hey, it's good wine after all. :) But disappointed that no one to answer the phones and no ability to cancel the order online when it doesn't arrive within the delivery window. The website still says "Status: Waiting for delivery" even after the order was delivered. You might have a better experience ordering through their delivery partners rather than directly from BevMo.com. read more

Thank you, no thank you. I've done the delivery service from them 3 times now and it's been absolutely terrible. I understand we're living in challenging times and businesses are trying to adapt but when my delivery comes 3 hours OUTSIDE of the the window every single time I've tried delivery it's time to adjust. The last order I placed was 3 hours late and I was in contact with the delivery person as well as BevMo saying my order was ready to be pickup up when out of the blue the changed my delivery to the next day.......not great. I found some good bottles: Bogle, Duckhorn, Sonoma Cutrer. They have liquor but for the occasional vodka purchase I'm not savvy about prices and what's a "good deal." A small charcuterie area and retail supplies like glasses and promotional items are in pockets across the store. They're not well organized, they could do a better job merchandising. Staff is friendly and they helped me out to my car (had to ask though) and they have a private lot. Conveniently located on Bayshore. read more

I'm surprised at the negative reviews. My husband and I have only ever had positive experiences at this BevMo. The staff is always very helpful and friendly, and it's well-stocked. We are always able to get what we need here for our parties. Besides the usual wine and liquor, they also carry quite a lot of tonic water, ginger beer, ginger ale, and other essential items for cocktails. They also have snack items like chips and crackers. Of course, it won't have as many options as an actual grocery store, but it works well for us so that we don't have to make another run to the corner store to get snacks. Not as long ago as I would like to admit, when I was an indiscriminate booze fiend, I could easily & openly declare that I loved BevMo! But over time (at least a few years), certain tastes of mine have refined & I no longer see BevMo as the Willy Wonka of liquor stores. But I'm still a big fan. That's because some of BevMo's shortcomings are actually beneficial. Especially with beer. Most BevMo staff I've come across don't know a whole lot about craft beers. In a way, though, I think that helps BevMo fly under the radar during limited beer releases. Case in point: Stone Enjoy By 05.16.14. For this batch of Stone's limited release DIPA, SF was the only city in all of NorCal to get it. Oh sure, all of the City's hallowed & respected beer establishments also received shipments. But I'm certain the City's beer geeks flocked to those places & those shipments were gone quickly. & then there's this BevMo out in Bayview-Hunters Point. They had cases of the stuff just sitting out. People were walking right by it as if they didn't know what it was. Because they didn't know what it was. All the beer geeks who would know were looking elsewhere. In SF, this BevMo is like the secret weapon. So, yeah, I still do love BevMo. They often don't know the fantastic craft beers that they carry. They don't refrigerate much of the fantastic craft beers that they have, while giving up much too much cooler space to macro garbage beers. But, at least, I can still find the hard-to-find stuff here. *note: SF beer geeks, ignore this review & keep looking for beer at the places you usually do. read more

I placed the order online at work and asked my boyfriend to pick it up, I sent him a screenshot of the confirmation and he had his ID with him. They refused to give him the order, and refused to offer an alternative he literally called me while they were there and they did not even suggest I add his name under the instructions or anything. When I arrived once I got off of work I asked why they didn't suggest I add it to the instructions and all the manager said he knew how to do his job. The wine selection at the Geary location is superior. And while they are very fast with the internet order pick ups, the place is notoriously hard to get to off the freeway. But I have no sense of direction anyways so it's mostly my fault. Came in to purchase close to $1000 worth of stuff. Was in there for over an hour finding things I needed. Staff is helpful but not well informed. Eventually I had to use the bathroom. They refused to allow me to use the bathroom. I, literally, had to pee in the parking lot as there wasn't any place close. Humiliating as hell. You guys suck. Edit: Hi Jessica. Go there sometime around 7PM and you'll get to watch them turn people away yelling "We're closed!" thru the glass doors at perplexed and annoyed almost-customers. People beg to get in, but to no avail -- they clearly can not let new customers in when they already have their hands full kicking out all of the considering-not-being-customers that somehow managed to sneak in before 7PM. I ordered and paid extra for delivery. 5 April. the guaranteed "2 hours or less" we live less than a mile from the store. I ordered early to coincide with food delivery orders. my delivery window was between 2-3 pm plenty of time to get there for our 5 pm dinner. except it didn't arrive until 23 yes, TWENTY THREE HOURS LATER. no one at the store answered my 6 calls from 3- 8 pm when the store closed they did not call text or email me to tell me there was a delay. when the order arrived it was missing 2 items. I feel cheated. the ripped me off emails to the corporate which they say are usually "answered within a day" didn't get answered for 5 FIVE days. even then no apologize or did they take responsibility. the offered a refund on the delivery charge. I haven't seen that yet and what about the missing items??? will they offer to redeliver? I came here for one reason and one reason only. While we were in SF and took the Anchor Brewing tour, I discovered that Anchor has a distillery and produces vodka infused with hops named HopHead. As no booze is sold at Anchor, our tour guide gave us info to look for a local Whole Foods or BevMo as he was sure they distribute to those two stores. Whole Foods was no luck as they carry no liquor except for beer and wine, so we headed down to Bayshore. Access to this store is easy off the freeway and there is plenty of parking available. The look and feel of the store itself is a little outdated and too warehouse-like, not like the newer and nicer BevMo stores. However, the size is at least twice of those and so is the selection. While I always have a big gripe with hoppy beers kept out of coolers, at least this BevMo had a good selection. But that is not what I came here for. It was the HopHead vodka. And there it was sitting behind the lock...3 bottles, just like the inventory on their website said. And after our visit there was only 1 left....so maybe you're still in luck. This store is not the greatest booze store ever but accurate online inventory and product selection warrants a positive review. The staff is not too helpful but I learned not to hold any expectations for BevMo workers. But the HopHead was all we Hopped it would be so 4 stars come your way. read more

Bevmo doesn't always have the cheapest prices, but they beat most corner and liquor stores on most items. The staff here are very helpful, even on Dec. 31 at the end of their shift, when you know they've been working their butts off. I went in looking for sake and vermouth, came out with exactly what I needed plus fancy gin, a bottle of champagne and a six pack of the Shiner holiday brew. I've been living in the Bayview Distrcit for over 20 years, and this has been a go to place for choices, but recently this place is going under. First Father's Day, I came and it wasn't open because they are "understaffed," now comes July 4th and their system is down, cash only. I have gone to other BevMo's in the Bay Area I can truly say this is the worst one of them all. If you even go to other stores they have way better deals, but this one location never seems to be concurrent with other stores. If you come to this store, be sure to be disappointed. It felt like the mothership calling me home. Aisles and aisles of alcohol at great prices, more aisles of mixers, punctuated by every possible drinking accessory known to man. When I first walked into this place, I felt the same way I felt when I walked into my very first Toys R Us as a child. Seriously. I may have a problem. It's a little difficult to get to if you don't have a car. Otherwise, the place has easy parking. This is the best place to go if you need to stock up your bar or buy supplies for a party.
