this is the best taro boba i've tried in north san diego so far. believe it or not people really cannot get this flavor right. the consistency is either way too watery or too icy. this place made it thick and creamy and you could actually taste but not too thick where it wouldn't go up there straw. the place right across the street teamo couldn't get it right and bright can happy lemon. i am for sure coming back again it was so delicious. the boba was also soft as well and the cups are very high quality. like i'm honestly very impressed with this place. read more

My daughter wanted boba so we came here since we drive past here often. As soon as you enter it is white, clean and oozed a modern minimalist vibe. You can order at the screen stand or at the counter. I wanted a live person so we placed and ordered a taro boba and I got a matcha drink. The staff was friendly and helpful. I came during their grand opening weekend, on a Friday with buy one get one free. There were quite some people there for the grand opening deal. I got a Bobapop milk tea (comes with boba) added grass jelly and add cheese foam. They were still new and the staff didn't know what she was doing. She said I couldn't have cheese foam on my milk tea. I was like are you sure? That's why it's an add on and can be added to any drink. She called her manager over and the manager said yes that's doable (well yeah, doable at every boba place) and rang me up. It's $1.25 extra. So we waited, and when I got my order, guess what? They didn't put the cheese foam on. I had to go back and told them I added cheese foam. They apologized and added the cheese foam. I get it, they are new and working out the kinks from educating staff for orders and making orders. Even though I didn't have a good experience, I'll still give them another try. The boba itself is pretty good. I got 25% sugar, which is more like 50% sugar and cheese foam was foamy and good. Hopefully they fully train staff and things run smoother next time. read more

This was our first visit to the San Marcos location. We hit up the Rancho Penasquitos location at least twice a week! The San Marcos location has the same vibe as the other one - clean, modern, minimalist decor that is still approachable. Same single kiosk for ordering. Same great tea menu. Different = more seating indoors, more spacious, and restroom available to customers. The production of the drinks is also done in the back instead of in front of customers. That is an interesting difference because it made the dining area maybe more serene and less loud, but it also didn't have the same high energy, with most of the employees in the back making drinks and not interacting directly with customers. We loved our drinks just as much and they also further customized my drink with my verbal request after I ordered via the kiosk. Definitely a gem to visit and we could enjoy our drinks inside with good conversation in a relaxed environment. read more

Was excited to try a new place that opened up but all the drinks we got were disappointing. We got the jasmine tea with cheese foam, pandan matcha, and matcha einspanner. All the drinks had a very weird aftertaste. Other than that the service was fine and the store was clean. read more

We stopped by to check this place out, it located in a small plaza not far from other shops and restaurants. The inside decor was very minimal, we were greeted right away and they explained what some of the popular items on the menu were. We ordered the salted cheese jasmine tea and the matcha green tea. I almost ordered their wintermelon, but I was glad I chose the jasmine tea since it's a favorite of mine and very refreshing and the salty cheese flavor was a nice surprise. Checked out Bobapop Tea Bar on a Friday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to find easy parking and a pretty chill atmosphere -- not too crowded at all. I got the Darling Tea and the Japanese Rice Bran tea. Both were unique and refreshing, and you can tell the drinks are brewed to order, so they do take a little time. Worth the wait if you're not in a rush! The decor gave me Torotea vibes but felt a bit more minimal and spacious. I haven't had tea this good since the OG Green Tea House on Convoy in Clairemont Mesa was still open. Decided to stop by and try this new boba place in San Marcos. Located in the same strip mall as Mama Kats. Thankfully, we went on a Sunday and Mama Kats was already closed or else parking would be rough. We walked in and were immediately greeted. The place has minimalist look, whites and grays. Very clean & pristine. The menu is on the wall to the right of the front counter. When we decided, the employee who took our order kindly explained our options and was really helpful. We ordered an Avomango and a Mango Cloud and both were excellent! Just the perfect amount of sweetness (and could've adjusted but glad we didn't). Definitely quality ingredients here. A review only for the drinks: This is not the first time that Ive been here and the drinks are too sweet even at 30%. For a boba spot that has a bunch of tea descriptions, I cannot taste the tea at all. It is super sweet and taste like it is gentrified. I really liked this place before but for some reason, the drinks got so much sweeter. There are some times where I will go in and the tea is too frgrant so they mask it with the sweetness.
