Regular cold brew that my wife gets! Even without sweet foam, it's good by itself!

This place is fantastic! My wife and I come here regularly for our weekly check-ins to discuss business ideas and plan our week. The atmosphere is both comfortable and spacious, with high ceilings that create an open, airy feeling. The combination of natural light streaming through the windows and the thoughtfully placed indoor lighting adds to the relaxing vibe. For those who prefer to sit outside, there's a nice awning-covered area, and inside, there are plenty of outlets for charging devices. The service is excellent, and the staff is friendly and skilled. We love the food, but the coffee is exceptional! The staff already knows us, and the baristas are always on point with their craft. There's one barista who makes my cold brew with sweet foam, and even though I've been told he makes the sweet foam incorrectly, I actually love how much sweeter it is! He often makes a bit of extra sweet foam, which I think is unintentional, but he always shares it with us, which we appreciate. We look forward to our Mondays and/or Tuesdays off so we can come here. We're always excited to stop by! Definitely a 5-star spot!

Haven't been here in a few months. The atmosphere and vibe is great. Super friendly staff. Baristas we're awesome. Kinda makes you feel good spending your money. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

The oat milk cold-brew latte was really good. They ran out of their vegan breakfast option but had a vegan mushroom sandwich and it was really good as well! It looked like they make it fresh and not from frozen. Delish. Reminder: Gluten-free does not mean vegan :) I love my gluten!

I was staying at the Hampton Inn in San Marcos - and needed some good coffee for day 2 of Board meetings. So I went to Yelp to see what coffee shops were nearby (that was not a national chain) and found Copa Vida. What sold me for Copa Vida was that they had Colombian beans for sale and when you are married to a Colombian who loves coffee, you must get her her beans. The cafe was cute, the staff was friendly and accommodating - I had to find previously mentioned beans. After looking around, we found the beans. Drink was ordered, beans were bought. I got a mint tea latte with oat milk - I have never had it before, but it was quite delicious!

I've been coming to this location since it first opened! I've always loved the baristas and how kind they are! Lattes can be a bit more expensive, but they're always worth it! I love the open space concept with natural lighting. Lots of seating with places to connect your laptop if it needs a charge. Great spot to meet up with a friend, classmate, or co worker. Some of my best ideas and most productive work has been done in this space!

Copa Vida has multiple locations throughout San Diego County. This one is located in the North City neighbourhood in San Marcos. Over the years, this spot used to be Halcyon, then GRIT, now it's Copa Vida, so perhaps you've been to this spot while it was a different establishment. Drinks are tasty and ingredient-forward. The shop is pretty big, with bright open windows, plenty of chargers for your laptop. It's near Cal State San Marcos so, depending on the time, be prepared for a potential line of college students trying get their caffeine fix. I'm a sucker for a seasonal drink so I tend to opt for those. They also have some food as well as other canned and bottled drinks in the refrigerator. Good spot to stop for a coffee!

I tried one of their summer drinks (yuzu matcha something latte) and PSAA it's not ceremonial grade matcha :( but it was $8 still lol which is why I'm giving it a low rating! I asked the cashier if she liked it and she just said yes without giving much info LOL (not blaming her bc I also could've asked for more details). Super nice ambiance + they have outlets easily accessible to all tables which I appreciate! Stable wifi connection as well Public parking isn't free but they validate your ticket for up to 4 hours

Interior design is really pretty, high ceilings and plenty of space to sit but that's the only good thing about this place imo They are wayyyy too overpriced and it does not reflect the taste by any means. I paid 7.25 for a latte, no extras. Initially since it was my first time here I figured it was probably pricey because it's a large cup. Nope. Ok, maybe because the taste is out of this world because I'd be more than happy to overpay for brilliance, but no. Basic. I don't recommend. I work a block away but I'd rather still drive to the ralphs a few lights up to get a Starbucks plain coffee.. I like supporting small businesses but for a latte smaller than my hand tasting basic af at nearly $8, no thanks, pass.

If you're at the middle tables and need an outlet, there's plenty hiding under the couches! More than enough for midterm/finals season. Great place to work especially when they don't blast unnecessary AC... Thanks for supporting broke college student with a small discount!

Needed a local coffee shop while visiting the area and Copa Vida was it. Very smooth coffee and great menu options including a variety of teas. Also tried the bacon breakfast burrito and it was really tasty. I feel like places try to cheat you when it comes to those but this burrito was a nice size, hearty and had plenty of bacon in it. The salsa that it was paired with was a great compilation to the flavors as well. Overall, very nice coffee shop! Staff is very friendly and the area is a vibe. Several restaurants and businesses nearby and plenty of parking. Wish they were in LA!

Tucked away in a remote location and surrounded by lovely open land, TERI Common Grounds feels like a hidden little escape. The grounds are beautifully maintained and honestly, I felt like I was in Big Bear or Idyllwild rather than San Marcos! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and there was live music playing outside when we visited. The woman who took our order at the counter was also so pleasant and kind. Loved her! The pricing was very reasonable, and the Hawaiian bowl was really tasty with lots of flavor. I also tried the Orange Dream smoothie with protein, which was such a nice treat. I was especially impressed that it didn't have the odd texture or aftertaste that protein drinks often have. There was plenty of parking in the adjacent lots, which made visiting easy. I would definitely come back for the food and to enjoy some more live music. I also have my eye on some of the decadent looking sweets I saw in the display counter! Such a lovely spot, and definitely one I am happy I finally got around to trying!

Everyone was satisfied and we left with full bellies.

Horrible Experience!…read more I drove 45 minutes each way to try this place. Based on the reviews I've seen, a lot of people rave about the dulce de leche croffin, so I was excited to try it. I came into the bakery. It felt a bit dark and cold. Even though the chef was standing right there in the middle of the dining room, he did not look up to say hello or welcome a new customer. I ordered my food to go because I came specifically to try it and experience this place for myself. I asked if the cashier could hold my purchase at the register while I went to wash my hands in the bathroom. He said, "Sure," and that he would package it and hold it for me until I came back. I paid and went to the bathroom. I came back, stood by the register, and waited until the same person who had served me was done chatting with another employee. I waited and waited, and he didn't bother to look up or assist me, so I finally asked if I could have my pastry bag. He handed it to me as if I had bothered him. I left with my pastry and was excited to try it. I drove off, and when I finally tried the pastry, I could not figure out the flavor. I quickly realized that it was not what I had ordered at all. It was a dry, tasteless croffin with peanut butter, which I can't stand the smell or taste of, and luckily, in this case, I'm not allergic to it. I took another bite just to make sure that I wasn't imagining it. But no, it was indeed a dry pastry with peanut butter. Imagine my disappointment when I was already a 25-minute drive away from the bakery. I called them, and the person who answered was the same guy who had served me. I told him my name and said that I had just purchased a dulce de leche croffin to go and was trying it for the first time. I told him, "It does not taste like dulce de leche. It should taste like caramel. Why does it taste like something else?" He said, "Oh, we were out of dulce de leche, so we decided to make a different one, peanut butter." But keep in mind that the label said "dulce de leche croffin." The guy did not tell me anything else at the front. He did not say that they didn't have it anymore. He did not say, "Oh, I'm sorry, the label was wrong." He did not say anything. He just said, "Yes, I remember you. I remember what you ordered." That's it. Beyond disappointing. I will never go there again. Despite the fact that I cannot stand peanut butter, the pastry itself was also dry and tasteless. The design was cold and unwelcoming, the chef was unwelcoming, and the customer service was simply not customer service. If they change something, they should tell the customer. This is a liability. If I had been allergic to peanut butter and had an allergic reaction, this could have been a legal case!
