The macarons I got were the Nutella boba and caramel monkey. The caramel monkey was my favorite because it was super soft, fresh, and the cookie had great flavor. The Dubai cake was good but really rich. I definitely need milk or tea with this one. Service is good. It was pretty empty when we came here. I wouldn't typically leave a review like this, but our visit was far below what we expected. My wife, children, and I stopped in last Thursday evening to try the bubble tea, and unfortunately the customer service was very poor. The fried chicken itself was good, and the drinks were decent, but the overall experience was overshadowed by the staff's attitude. We asked one girl what she recommend to which she simply replied I don't know and the other one seemed irritated by our questions. This was our first visit, yet they didn't seem interested in helping us! Neither was particularly welcoming or friendly. To make matters worse, we overheard the employees' conversations which included lots of profanity and complaining about work, not a family friendly experience! Tea Amo was okay overall. There was only one employee working, so understandably it was took him a longer time to fulfill the orders. After a long wait, I was able to eat the popcorn chicken. Sadly, it wasn't very crispy so I would not get that again. There were quite a few chicken pieces that were small, so the chicken wasn't that juicy inside. I liked the drinks though. The shop itself has a really cozy, vibe. You can tell it's a local favorite. Service was friendly, and there's a good variety on the menu if you're into both drinks and snacks. I was in the San Marcos area for work and decided to check out this tea shop nearby. The ambiance inside was very nice -- clean, minimalistic aesthetics that made for a chill vibe. No line when we arrived around 3 PM on a weekday, so ordering was quick and easy. We ordered the royal milk tea and jasmine milk tea with boba. The jasmine milk tea at 50% sweetness still felt a bit too sweet for me and honestly had more of a juice-like taste -- the tea flavor didn't really shine through. The boba itself was solid: semi-sweet, chewy, and fresh. We also tried the mango bingsoo, which was excellent. The shaved ice was super light and airy, topped with condensed milk and a cherry. The only real downside was the "fresh" mango, which unfortunately wasn't ripe and ended up being quite bitter -- a bit of a letdown on an otherwise great dessert. Ahhhh Tea Amo.... Let's start by saying that I LOVE the drinks from here. I've ordered all different kinds of teas and they've always tasted good. They have sooo many different options. Every time I come in I always want to try something new but my go to's are always the iced jasmine green tea and the black tea with sea salt cream. My daughters have tried their waffles as well and they really like them. The ambiance inside is really cute and aesthetic. There's always people inside studying, or just hanging out. Staff has always been super nice as well. The reason for three stars is because I feel like consistency with customer service at the register is a hit or miss. I come in all the time on my lunch breaks with my Kaiser badge on and there's only been one employee who ever brings up the fact that they have a Kaiser discount and who offers it to me. I don't have the courage to ask for the discount either... LOL. I come in often so I know that every time I pay it's going to cost $5.50 for my iced green tea. Today, for some reason the girl working the register said they didn't have the option to charge me for the iced tea so she had to charge me for a milk tea and it ended up being 75 cents more somehow?? We came here on a rainy day so naturally, my hubby went down to place the order for us. He grabbed the receipt that was handed to him. He came back to help me take of our kids and I took the receipt to go back in to pick up our drinks and possibly order some popcorn chicken. I came in, waited and when I saw the drinks came out, I came up to the counter to pick it up, showed the receipt, and the girl looked at me weirdly. When I saw the "receipt" it didn't list the item we ordered. It was just a credit card proof of transaction. Thus, I had to go out in the rain and get my husband to pick up the drinks for us. First of all, if you're handing out a receipt, it should show the items ordered!!! And please don't treat patrons with weird looks... We ordered a mango green tea and milky way. The drinks are decent but not a very nice first experience. I ended up not getting the popcorn chicken because I'm not trying to get drenched and get more dirty looks from the staff here. My son loves Boba Tea (and with good cause). Having been out to multiple places for multiple flavors and styles, I don't think he's met one yet that didn't satisfy his need for something sweet with chewy chunks to slurp up through a big straw. So, when he gave a request for some boba by itself without dinner or lunch alongside, I searched for a nearby spot to satisfy the cravings. Tea Amo is nice, beautiful interior in a good location near our house. Welcoming, quick, and friendly, it was a good outward experience. Both of us opted for the Milk Way, which turned out to be, possibly, brown sugar and caramel with crushed ice, and was delightfully sweet and cold. Each of us finished it in quick order. I do have two qualms, though. First, the price was a bit steep versus how much you get. At $5.50 a pop, I thought the drinks would be served in some of the special, larger cups that were on display, but they ended up being in much smaller, plastic ones. When you factor in that size and how much ice took up precious drink space in each, the price did sting; especially considering that other places give you much more for a bit less. Still, that doesn't take into account that other places subsidize those boba costs by offering full meals where this place can only collect profit purely on their drinks and light snacks. Second, and this is a minor quibble, the menu has no descriptions of anything on it. This isn't a problem when you order a Hot Honey Black Tea or a Cold Lavender Milk Tea, but when the names are bit more obscure like a Milky Way, I wouldn't mind knowing if that darker color in there is from Brown Sugar, Chocolate Milk, or Beef Bouillon. At any rate, the drinks were good and Tea Amo is still a good choice and I wouldn't mind trying other items of their menu. If my son asks for Boba again in the near future, it's safe to say we're coming back here. read more

I like tea amo and have gone many times, it was my go to boba place and favorite in north county. But the last few times have been less than par. One time I ordered online and set a time to pick it up. I get there and it's not at it's usual place for pick up. Ok... so I wait. And wait. And wait. Then 15 minutes after scheduled time I asked them about my online order, then the girl was like oh it'll be ready soon. Then I wait. Then 10 minutes later, I'm like wtf, where's my order?! The older lady who looks like the owner or manager said, it'll be soon, they were out of boba and making it. Didn't care to tell me sooner? Waited another 5 minutes and finally got my order from pick up time, 30 minutes for boba!! Then the most recent time, I got there around 12:30, 30 minutes after opening, right when I come in, they put up a sign, "out of boba", I asked about it and they're out of boba for the day.
