Great food, not so great service. We had a party of 10 and they forgot 2 of our party's order. They apologized but didn't offer a solution to make it right. Following that, we asked for our checks and it took 45 minutes to get a check to pay and those two who didn't get their food are still waiting (they asked for it to go given the circumstances). Don't let the outside of the restaurant fool you! Inside is pretty nice and inviting. This place was surprisingly good. It was satisfying. We went here for the first time the food was delicious. The wing they were my favorite. Here you get to cook your own food at the table which I thought was really cool. At first the service was great but once we got our food to cook we would have to hunt for someone to get refills of anything. The customer service as this place was amazing! Everyone was kind and attentive! We did decide to go on a Monday around 1 pm so it was not very busy, but they did have customers. We decided to get gimbap and steamed dumplings to start with. The gimbap was sooo good! The steamed dumplings were also good! We decided to do the Korean bbq and we got the beef bulgogi and the jumbo shrimp. The beef bulgogi was marinated so well and we loved that they brought out lettuce for the bulgogi. The jumbo shrimp tasted fresh! The kimchi, cucumber kimchi, the bean sprouts and the fish cakes as side dishes were all very good! Every time we were running low on one, they came out with another one. They also give you white rice in a small metal pot and the rice was nice and warm. The inside consists of regular tables and grill tables for the Korean bbq. They also have a bar and you are able to see inside the kitchen. Stopped here during a road trip and was so impressed by the food and service! Our server Kendrick was very helpful and friendly, and I liked the atmosphere of the place; casual, warm, and family friendly. Even though it was very busy, we were sat within 10 minutes at a casual table instead of the BBQ grill which was fine by me. Everything we ordered was flavorful and fresh, I think maybe the best Korean food I've had and we had plenty of leftovers (you could easily share everything family style which I recommend). Have been coming here ever since we moved down to SC, it's an hour trip from where we live and it's definitely worth it. I crave Korean food often and this place definitely satisfies my cravings, they give such generous portions that I usually have to ask for a box to take leftovers home. We ate here on a Saturday night. We got here around 7:30 and had to wait until 8 to get seated. We had 2 mean BBQ grill and 2 soup. The service was slow and you can tell the kitchen was super busy. We were supposed to get a steamed egg and veggies with our meal and didn't get them for like 30 minutes after we got our food and was almost done. The food is pricey for the slow service. I have visited this place twice now. The first time it was alright. This is probably my least favorite Korean restaurant. The food just isn't that good. I was very disappointed in the Tteok-bokki. Would have giving a 0 start but it wouldn't let me. We used to go there but never again. The service was not that great and the portions for the sides have gotten smaller. Server hardly came be the table and we had to keep walking up to get stuff. We have 3 adults and 2 babies. A 1 and 2 year Olds and they wanted to say we was 5 or more so they charge 18% service charge for that. When I asked I was told by the owner that they don't count babies, I said they are 1 and 2 and she told me they ordered so they count, they ordered a punk lemonade that is all. When I conforted again the waitor wanted to tell me that they count because they have to clean up after the, my wife always gets down and cleans up after them and he backed off. The owner then said what you want your service charge refunded. I said no I will never tell any of my friends or anyone else to go there because the service and disrespect they gave us. Not even free food or full refund will make me go back. I will drive out of town to go to a Korean BBQ just so that place don't get another penny from me. read more

The food is DELICIOUS! My family ordered takeout from here and got the beef bolgogi, kimbap, and steamed dumplings. The bolgogi came with rice, kimchi, pickled onions, bean sprouts, and spiced cucumbers. We even went back to get the dumplings because everything we ate was so good! Great food and service! This Barbecue reminded us of the great barbecue we remembered when we lived In Japan. Waiter Made sure we had everything we need and was polite. I visited this restaurant for take out the other day. Now, I LOVE Korean bbq, especially bulgogi. I was very excited to find a Korean bbq restaurant (with grills at the table) in the area. I ordered chicken bulgogi and fried dumplings. The fries dumplings were great. The sauce that accompanied them was amazing. I'd definitely order that again. My main entree, chicken bulgogi left much to be desired. It lacked flavor. It basically tasted like chunks of chicken with sweet onions. The sides that came with it were confusing. I was expecting rice, kimchi, sprouts, cucumbers, etc (judging from a few pictures I looked at). I did get kimchi and white rice. I also got broccoli and some side that basically looked like anchovies and peanuts (?). I've never gotten any of those sides at any other restaurants I've ever been to. I don't know how those tasted bc I didn't eat them. I may give this restaurant another chance but only to use the tabletop grill. read more

The food and service were amazing! I love the options for meat. However the sides are definitely below standard.

Busy when we walked in but got a seat in the bbq side right away. The grill was a bit slow to cook but could just be I wasn't used to it and used to my go to kbbq spot back in Bham. Got the bulgogi and la galbi...oh mah gah it was so good. I was sucking on the bone to get every last bit of flavor. Side dishes were good but I was confused that I got broccoli when another tables got cucumbers because that seemed more of a traditional side dish. Place was cute and clean. Stopped in while traveling down I-95. It was a real treat. They took your temperature before you could enter. I liked that. The food was great. I had the Korean BBQ beef ribs with fried rice. The rice was full of corn, egg, carrots, & greens. They brought out a side of steamed potatoes, celery salad, ginger salad, spaghetti cucumber, and some hot kimchi. The service was excellent. They serve Hot Pots here, yum! We also had the chicken, super tender. The Korean BBQ was so tender. You just have to pick it up with your fingers, while your holding chopsticks with the other hand, eating the fried rice. Very clean. Social distancing. Employees wore masks. Look: Bewon is great. Korean BBQ is great. You can cook all sorts of perfectly seasoned meats on a grill right in front of you. You get a bevy of vegetables and dipping sauces to eat alone or wrapped up in a lettuce taco. Its a fun experience and the staff is more than willing to walk you through the nuances if this is your first time. It's all great. But the Soju. The Soju is transcendent. Have some Soju.
