She suggested Gel X and took the time to explain the whole process, including how fills work. Honestly, I really appreciated that because I didn't know much about Gel X going in! It was my first time getting Gel X, and Mimi did an amazing job! I showed her an inspo picture, and she totally made it happen. The whole appointment took about 2 hours, but the attention to detail was worth it. For pricing, the Gel X was $60, plus $30 for the nail art/design, so I paid around $90 before tip. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing, and overall it felt like a great little birthday treat. I'm definitely coming back for a fill and already know I'll be getting Gel X again. I called the shop and spoke with a gentleman who was very kind and told me to come in and they would fix it--no problem. I came in at 9 AM before work, expecting a quick repair. Instead, I was met with a completely different experience. The technician made me feel uncomfortable from the start, as if I had done something wrong. Even after showing my receipt, I was asked to wait while she and her coworkers sat and ate. After waiting, she told me it would be another 10 minutes. I explained I had to get to work and that I had already paid full price and tipped $10 just two days prior--I simply needed the repair done. When she finally helped me, the fix felt rushed and careless. She layered on a thick amount of gel, tapped it briefly with a file, and said "OK" without any real care or attention. This was my third time visiting, and unfortunately it will be my last. The lack of professionalism and basic customer service is disappointing. I expected better treatment, especially as a returning customer.

I headed over to Instagram to check out her work and was ready to book my June appointments. -quick back story, I have been a "picker" my whole life , my mom thought I bit my nails but I would just pick the side and rip them off (eek). In case I had to run to the bank (I know I should have researched this previously) she took Venmo or Zelle which I have so I sat and waited my turn. Not long after she was done and called me in. Welcomed me, offered a snack (I am a snacker but, anxiety, and I declined). Immediately Zu was very kind started getting conversation, had me choose my colors, let me discuss my short nails situation and showed her a different inspo and she said we can do that instead if I want. She put on a show, that I need to continue watching because I can't wait 3 weeks to find out what happens! Lol Anyway Long Story Short (hehe) she nailed the inspo pic on these tiny nails and I absolutely LOVE them! I cannot wait to continue my journey with her to grow out my nails again and I look forward to staying a client a very long time ! They kept us past closing time, which is why we did not take the time to argue. Although, even two weeks later I look at my nails every day and I think..... my nails were not worth $110. The stars are smeared and it will never be worth $110. In the past, I've never paid more than $85 at this salon for gel-x (no take off) with a simple design. I even checked online to verify design minimum and maximum price ranges. At most, I should have paid $90. My friend got an acrylic fill with a design and she also feels like she over paid with how inconsistent the line work is and.. IT WAS A FILL. I've recommended lots of friends here in the past, but it seems like they are kind to you so they can secretly increase the price. My friends that ended up going here, shared with me they will not go back because the pricing isn't fair. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you're comfortable paying $110 minimum for anything nail related. What would have been better is communicating and itemizing why a design is at a certain price point. From what I see online pricing, I should have paid: $65 new gel-x (no take off) + $15 cat-eye + $10 1-2 stars on 4 fingers = $90 Where did the extra $20 come from??? My rating is strictly for gel x application and overall salon experience, not the nail design I was…read moreunsatisfied with because that is mostly on me. Came here to get short almond gel x nails with a French tip design for my wedding nails. I showed inspo pics and requested that the white not be super stark white compared to the pink. My nail tech started off with a thicker French tip to cover the natural nail peeking out under the gel tip. However that did not fit my vision so I asked for a thinner tip. She did mention that you would be able to see the natural nail under the tip and I said it was ok. I realized after I got home that the pink base coat was essentially clear and the natural nail showed in an obvious way in photos even though I thought it looked ok in person. I did not bring this up to the salon because I figured I just chose the wrong design and decided to just go somewhere else to just get a solid color all over. While getting my polish changed at the other salon, the nail tech noticed that my cuticles were completely covered in gel and had to take an extra 10-15 mins just drilling all the gel off my cuticles otherwise it wouldn't have grown out smoothly. She also fixed the nail shape because it was super pointy for almond in my opinion. My reason for my rating is because gel is not good to constantly get on skin. I did notice my original tech at moongirlnails used a brush to wipe off the gel after each tip application which I didn't love since other places I've been to have known how much gel to apply to avoid overflow. Using excess glue and going back to clean up is not good technique in my opinion. And seeing that the excess was not even fully wiped off and left on my cuticles, I cannot in good faith recommend this salon if you want to avoid developing a gel allergy.
