I had such a great experience at Avalon Nail Bar in Long Beach! First of all, the location is perfect, there's plenty of parking, plus lots of shopping nearby and great restaurants to check out before or after your appointment. The salon itself is extremely clean and well kept. Even the restroom was spotless and very spacious, which I always appreciate. One detail I loved was the soft lighting under the sink, such a cool and modern touch that really adds to the ambiance. The massage chairs during the pedicure were amazing and made the whole experience extra relaxing. Their prices are standard, and if you want to upgrade your pedicure with special add-ons, it's very reasonable. They accept both cash and card (there's a $2 fee for card payments), and you can conveniently add your tip to your card as well. For a Saturday afternoon, they were friendly, fast, and efficient without making the service feel rushed. Overall, a five-star experience, I'll definitely be back!

Really awful pedicure. I paid $70 for buckling gel polish. She didn't paint my entire nail or clean under it apparently.

Pretty bad pedicure. The gel polish is buckling as you can see in photo. She didn't paint my entire nail for some reason. My toe nails were crooked. I came home and had to trim them myself. Pretty disappointed that I paid $70 for a very poorly done pedicure.

Nikki and Lisa were friendly and took the time with my pedicure and gel x nails. They made sure I was happy with the service and with my nails throughout the experience to make sure I was happy especially since I asked for a natural milky French tip. I would definitely recommend and return.

Even before I got seated, Nikki, one of the people who worked there had set up the massage chair in which I was assigned to sit. From there, she had helped me get comfortable with everything--I only did a package for a pedicure, but she checked up on me as much as she can; from checking in with me to see if the towels/rocks were too hot, or if I was ticklish (I was, so she made the initiative to do a little and stopped from there). We used to frequent this place, and lots of upgrades were made since. I'm satisfied with the results of my pedicure as well. read more

Very disappointing experience. As a returning customer, I was turned away because they were "too busy" and made to feel completely unwelcome. The male receptionist made no effort to accommodate us (this would have been a good $120 appointment for 2 fills, mind you) or offer another appointment. We left feeling embarrassed and disappointed. My usual nail salon wasn't taking anymore clients for the day so I decided to call Avalon nail bar and they fit me in right away. From first impressions, the salon was very clean and the front desk receptionist was very kind.Thu the nail tech offered me a fresh beverage and greeted me with a smile. I was sat in a chair and Thu got started right away. The pedicure was done very thoroughly! She cleaned my cuticles very well. I changed my color last minute and Thu had a wonderful suggestion, CAT EYE. Ive never done cat eye on my nails so was a bit skeptical but she reassured me and allowed me to take multiple looks and waiting for my approval before continuing on with my other nails. She also gave me one of the best massages I've ever had, almost like she knew I work on my feet constantly!! I'm super satisfied with the service and ambiance! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good place to get their nails done. read more

I was treated really well when i arrived. I was shown different nail colors and was impressed with all colors and different styles ! Services i got were a gel x full set French tip, pedicure, and a head spa. Kathy is great with pedicure really detailed and careful:). Camille did excellent with my gel x full set! I love it . Camille did my head spa and omg !! The best experience of my life ... i have been stressed and after that treatment i felt relaxed :) over i enjoyed my self and recommend coming here ! First time customer, when you arrive you get greeted like family from the nail shop manager Chantel. She has a very warm and beautiful energy that makes you feel welcome and valued as a customer. I had a full and reshaping done by nail tech Tina, she is FABULOUS! Tina takes her time and is very attentive to your need. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she exceeded my expectations. I am a repeat customer at this establishment. I am always welcomed and never disappointed. I highly recommend you see the quality of work for yourself. They have also recently renovated the inside, and it is gorgeous!! Whether I get a plain gel fill or a full set with a design and pedicure, I am always so happy with the outcome! Today in particular my design and fill were done by Annie and she is just so kind!! Instead of receiving assistance, I was asked to leave the store--despite the fact that there were no cashiers available and no help provided. The store felt like it was running unattended. I have video footage showing how empty the registers were during this time. I do not recommend this Walgreens due to lack of customer service and poor management. I will be contacting corporate to report this experience.

Not only were there things that I use every day, but the prices were ridiculously affordable. Isela (theeee sweetest person) gave me a brief, but thorough "tour" that was absolutely fascinating. She answered any and all of my questions and provided me with a few donated containers for my purchase. So far, the star of this visit are the scented lotion and hand wash. Can't recall the name. But they are pricier than the other products. I don't care at all. I LOVE the scent. As a matter of fact, I'm going in this weekend for some more of the hand soap. I have it in my bathroom (foaming pump) and my kitchen (regular hand soap pump). I also diluted it to use as a shower gel. YES, doggone it!!! I'm kinda addicted! This is one of those places that you should actually do a personal field trip to. It will change your life. Believe it. Highly, highly recommended! UPDATE: I went back in for more hand soap concentrate and some retinol serum. By the way, soap and lotion brand name is "Further". Alyssa assisted me and she is an absolute DOLL. And I met her husband and best friend, who happened to be in the store. Simply delightful. I think this is going to be another one of my "happy" places.

Let's get real, ever since a bunch of pharmacies shut down (like rite aid) Every CVS and Walgreens…read moreis having to over compensate Since I have chronic pain / repeated procedures / surgeries, it's safe to say this place is my second home lol I've dealt with Tracy a couple times, including inside the Pharmacy (not just the drive thru pickup) after one of my past surgeries a few months ago, She saw me doubled over in pain while trying to get my medication after a bladder surgery that was extremely painful. I kept getting texts saying my medication was ready, but everytime I called to double check, it was not. When I showed up she got me my medication within less than 30 minutes and was on top of it. (And she kept telling me to sit down and asking if I was ok) I'm extremely understanding that these places are overwhelmed. I've dealt with a really rude male pharmacist here, but Tracy has literally been a lifesaver Recently, I had called ahead of time to see what I needed for an early release (2 days early for a medication that is highly controlled due to me not being able to pick it up on the scheduled day) she told me exactly what to request from my doctor. (Which, I got ahold of my doctors office and told them) My doctor put in for my medication, but unfortunately, they did not put what Tracy needed them to put. It was night time and my doctors office was already closed. Tracy told me not to worry at all and that she would call them in the morning and get it taken care of for me. I honestly did not think much of it. I was fully prepared to call my doctors office / having to deal with it all on my own. Yet, I got a text saying my medication was ready in the morning. Tracy even called me personally (not just the automated generic voice message system they leave saying to come get your medication) Tracy called and told me that she had been calling my doctors office as soon as they opened and she had everything taken care of for me. It honestly made me cry. While dealing with so much such as a surgery and trying to get everything taken care of, it meant so much to me that she took care of everything for me and did not make a fuss about it. She literally went above and beyond and I'm extremely thankful that she not only does her job, but is extremely sympathetic and helpful. I approached the interaction with a friendly attitude and treated the pharmacy technician with respect from the start. As someone with a college degree and several years of customer service experience, I understand that not every day is easy and that customer-facing jobs can be challenging. However, there is never an excuse for treating customers with the level of disrespect that I experienced. From the beginning, I was met with an unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and unprofessional attitude. Instead of offering basic courtesy and assistance, the technician was confrontational, careless, and showed no concern for how she was speaking to a customer. What was most shocking was her complete lack of remorse. When I expressed my concern, she casually displayed her badge information as if she was completely unbothered by the possibility of a complaint. That level of indifference makes me question whether this is a recurring issue. If this is how customers are routinely treated, it reflects very poorly on Walgreens and its commitment to customer care. Customer service matters, especially in a healthcare setting where patients may already be dealing with stressful or sensitive situations. Based on this interaction, it is clear that this employee would benefit from additional customer service training and coaching on professional communication. No customer should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected when seeking assistance with their prescriptions. As a result of this experience, I will be transferring my family's prescriptions elsewhere. I am extremely disappointed and sincerely hope management addresses this issue before more customers have a similar experience.
