How has this place not been reviewed yet??? I'm a firm believer that eyebrows can make or break a face. With that being said, I won't let anyone come near me with wax/tweezers/thread except for Meg. She is amazing at what she does, she takes her time, and is a perfectionist. Meg will ask if you like your brows a thicker or on the thinner side, and take that, with her professional judgment, and go to town on your brows. You may be squirming in the chair but the end result will leave you happy, every time. There are many stylists in the salon but I've only had my hair done for a few occasions by one, and her name is Armine. She is so sweet and soft-spoken, and I remember thinking even if I don't like my hair, there is no way I can break this woman's heart by saying anything negative. Luckily, the 5-6 events that she's done my hair for, I've never had a complaint. Armine asks you throughout the process if you like where she's going with your look. She makes it a point to ensure your happiness. In fact, it has gotten to the point where I trust her judgment so much, I don't go in with anything in mind, I just tell her this is the event, I'm feeling a young and sexy look, or messy and sultry. And she executes flawlessly time and time again. And then there is Anashe. Whenever I'm feeling a change, I go see her. She always knows what the latest looks are and will add color, appropriate for my age and the season. Having dark brown hair, it's hard to find a light color for highlights that isn't too harsh. Anashe blends colors to give me something amazing every time. I've never felt that I look too fake or overdone. My next adventure is going to be extensions. I've always been nervous to try them for myself but the ladies who do get extensions just look like they have a full head of hair once Anashe is done with them! All in all, I recommend this salon. I booked a last-minute appointment with Beyond Beauty Parlor in Glendale, CA to get my hair and makeup done before my cultural wedding ceremony & reception (my second wedding event of the wedding weekend). It was conveniently close to the wedding banquet hall and I was SO happy that they opened early on a Sunday morning (9:00am) and that I was able to get my hair and makeup done in time before the event (which started at noon)! For my wedding day itself, I had booked makeup artists to come do my and my bridesmaids' hair and makeup at our wedding venue, but for our second wedding event of the weekend, I needed to find my own separate beauty salon to quickly get my hair and makeup done again. I'm glad I found Beyond Beauty Parlor. The service was wonderful from start to finish. My hair stylist and my makeup artist both were very nice and chatty and put me at ease. I showed them photos (mostly from my main wedding day, to try and emulate the look again) and they did exactly what I wanted. I actually liked the hair and makeup that the stylist did more than even my own wedding day hair and makeup. I loved it and the hair and makeup lasted me throughout the cultural wedding ceremony, the reception afterwards, all the dancing (and there was so much dancing), and at the beach and marina sunset photoshoot we did afterwards! My hair and makeup was still almost flawless after 12 hours and I was seriously very impressed! They really knew what they were doing and really knew what would look good. I am docking one star because they charged me more than they had quoted me over the phone after they realized I was a bride and was getting my hair and makeup done for one of my wedding events. I think they realized that when I brought my wedding dress with me to the salon (I had nowhere else to change before the event). I think they quoted me something like $200 on the phone for both hair and makeup, but they ended up charging me $375, since they realized I was a bride. I didn't really appreciate that, but I had no time to discuss it with them, since I had to get to my wedding event, so I paid the $375. Overall, great service. I'd just recommend knowing, and then re-confirming right before you get your hair and makeup done, exactly what they're going to charge you. I was going to give them 5 stars, but after they overcharged me like that, I had to dock at least a star. read more

I was set up with a lovely woman named Armine. When coming in for my appointment, I noticed how beautifully designed the salon was. The whole look of the place feels and screams luxury and royalty. I felt like a princess for just booking my appointment. When I sat down in front of the mirror, I was nervous and apprehensive on how this would go. But immediately my anxieties were assuaged because before she even TOUCHED my hair, we discussed everything you'd expect from a professional, such as past hair treatments, cuts and/or bleaching. After getting the rundown on the condition and state of my hair, she listened attentively as I told her what I wanted, (I wanted a complex balayage with a completely specific cut/style in mind). I felt so much more at ease after our conversation. I proceeded then to just let her do her thing and trusted the experience.
