I asked for a tight turnaround time which was no problem once I stated it was for my own wedding (typical man waiting til the last minute). But their work is anything but rushed or sloppy. Originally, I talked to Stacie via email who was patient and awesome to deal with (thanks Stacie!). Of course I need my suit during peak wedding season which normally would take 2-3 weeks to get back. Once Nick (the owner) heard that I was the groom, he called me up and said let's make this top priority for both of us. (He's a great guy - friendly, personal, and understands the success to running a business is through great customer service. Thanks again, Nick!). The guys at Beyond Bespoke are truly talented. I had a bridesmaid dress that was too small in the bust area and needed about 6 inches added on. The problem was that the whole bust area was pleated which would make it difficult to fix. I went to a posh high-end tailor on 81st St. and was told nothing could be done even though it was 3 weeks prior to the wedding. I went to another tailor and was told the same thing. I was freaking out. It seemed impossible to fix this dress. Then while wildly searching the Internet for tailors, I came across Beyond Bespoke. I called and was able to take the dress in the same day to see what could be done. When I got there, Nick Torres calmly told me that it could be fixed. For a minute I was very skeptical. Two tailors already gave up hope on me and here's Nick assuring me that it could be fixed. I returned 5 days later and the dress was completely finished. You couldn't even tell that there was additional material added to the top of the dress. It was so subtle and the craftsmanship was so superior. It was like the dress was designed that way. There were able to fix my dress without compromising the design and that to me is the makings of a superb tailor. Trust me, if you have any alterations to be done, go to this place. This place is truly a class act. Nick is not only a great tailor, but he is also a great store owner. He has exceptional customer service and guarantees all of his tailoring (you can go back and have it re-altered anytime even if you think the length is a few centimeters too long). It's rare to see this anymore at tailors, and I've been to plenty in multiple states. My actual experience here was fantastic. I came in with an appointment when there was a relatively large group there for a wedding fitting, and they still fitted my pants in short order rather than make me wait for the larger group. They honor their appointment times, and I think that's a huge positive. I asked for style advice from Nick, and he gave me his honest opinions and helped me decide on fit and sizing. As for the tailoring, it was done very well. I wear suit pants relatively conservatively so the tailored style was a bit unusual for me, and Nick advised me to try it for a little while and come back if I wasn't comfortable. Once again, a great show of customer service. Definitely breeds a sense of trust, as I imagine there should be between a man and his tailor! Overall, the office / space is a bit cramped (although supposedly they might expand), but the service and tailoring are excellent at straightforward prices, albeit a bit pricey (new to NYC so not sure if it's just the city or me). I have to give a HUGE shout out and many, MANY thanks to the guys over at Beyond Bespoke Tailors. I made an online reservation for an emergency alteration at 11:30 on Friday night for 11:30am the next morning. Within 15 minutes, I had a response from someone confirming my reservation. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by Nick and Vinnie, with big smiles and warm, easy atmosphere. Though the place is small, you could tell they work hard to keep it clean and presentable. Nick was expecting me, and he'd already been briefed on my dilemma - he just kept reassuring me that it would be okay. Once I put on the garment to show them the issue, Nick took a look and right away said it would be no problem to fix and that they would do what they had to do to get it done within a few hours. They sent me across the street to their ladies' tailoring partner, JT the guru. Vinnie walked me over, and he made pleasant conversation on the way. He also tried to alleviate my worries and frustrations about the way the garment fit - he didn't need to sell me on the services, I was already just so happy that they could fix it. Still, it was very nice and very sweet (whether it was part of his job or not), to give me reassurance about how the garment would fit afterwards. Once upstairs in JT's shop, he and Vinnie discussed with me exactly what they would do to fix it. It turned out to be more than just a simple alteration, they had to reconstruct a part of the dress using extra fabric from the skirt. It cost a little more, but for what I was asking them to do, it really was a reasonable price. What they would normally do in 10 days - they did for me in 5.5 hrs, with two people working on it. I got to meet one of them, and I was so happy with how it turned out, I hugged him! (Which I think shocked the hell out of him lol). I can't thank these guys enough, but I hope this review helps! I am SO glad I found Beyond Bespoke! They did an amazing job on a brand-new dress that I had torn up the middle of the back (off-seam, mind you -- it was complicated). Nick and his team managed to fix it perfectly while maintaining the integrity of the design, and the turnaround was only a few days. I worked with Nick and Wilson and they're both incredibly personable and pleasant. Expect top-notch customer service and a job well done! One caveat: I had purchased the $10 for $25 Yelp deal, and it turns out that the coupon is only valid on a service over $25 (though this wasn't stated clearly on Yelp). Nick worked with me to come up with a good solution: he offered to do the dress for free (using the coupon) if I'd bring in another alteration. I ended up getting a pair of jeans hemmed as well, and they were perfectly finished -- the quality was much better than hems I've had done at other tailors around the city. Your garments will look sharp because he has a keen eye for design, which means that he fits you well in addition to executing the alterations perfectly. One of the pieces, a sportcoat, needed a lot of work but now I get complements on it wherever I go. Here's the kicker: all your garments are guaranteed for a year. Thank You Nick! Made a last minute appointment to get a couple of shirts that I bought altered. Bought the Yelp deal and walked in at noon. The store is located on the 5th floor of a cramped office building (They are in the process of renting out a larger office building on the first floor of the same building). Nick greeted me with a courteous smile/handshake and began to explain what he was going to do with my shirts. Tried all 4 of my shirts on and made the necessary adjustments. A week later...Wala! Shirts done. I could not be happier. Shirts came out to be perfect and to my specifications. One of the shirts was a bit baggier that I liked so he made to necessary alteration right there on the spot in less than 5 min. Wow fantastic! Nick made sure I was happy with all my shirts and made it known that he appreciated my business. Kinda rare now-a-days. Prices are reasonable and they do a great job! Let me start by saying that I buy most of my clothes off the rack and very rarely need tailoring (I know, I'm lucky!). I don't have much to compare Nick and his team to, but my experience with them was so incredibly easy and pleasant and I'm happy to give them rave reviews. I brought in a chiffon bridesmaids dress that needed to be taken in at the bust, waist, and hem. Each area added up, so even though I had a Yelp deal, the cost was about $140. The kicker to the cost was that the dress also had a delicate lining which counted as a separate layer. Luckily Nick priced out everything with me, and he was nice about not pressuring me with the costs (I could have walked out w/out feeling uncomfortable). I also had a maxi dress that needed shortening and he was sweet enough to shave off a couple of bucks on that one. Nick and the team at Beyond Bespoke did an great job with both dresses! They are very skilled with delicate materials, as I saw a ton of bridesmaid dresses, designer dresses and nice suits. The work they did for me fit perfectly and has held up. I bought a suit a couple years ago right after I graduated college and unfortunately my knowledge at that time on the difference between a fitted suit and your brother's hand me down went completely over my head. I came in, got measurements and Nick & Victor were extremely helpful while showcasing very friendly customer experience. Nick worked with me to make pricing work but at the end of the day the work that needed to be done on my suit was so extensive that it didn't make sense to get an older suit fitted as opposed to buying a new one. He understood and kept the measurements on the suit just in case I changed my mind or wanted to bring it somewhere else. I saw the SAME NIGHT rush work they were doing on the individual who was also getting alterations done and they were top quality. Overall very happy! My alterations were fast, a good price and the service was amazing. I went to Beyond Bespoke for to have a bridesmaid dress taken in. The turnaround for my dress ended up being a week and I was very happy with the way it fit after that altered it. Nick was so nice from the moment I came in. It was important to Nick and his team that I was happy with my alterations -- originally, when I went to pick up my dress I thought there needed to be more room under the arms. Great alterations! I bought a Milly dress from Saks in which they only had size 2. I needed the bust and waist taken in on both sides. I brought it I'm on a Monday. The place is easy to find. It's on 2nd floor. Clean, dressing rooms are private. The tailor was quick with pinning, never got stuck. He asked me if it was comfortable before I removed garment. It took one week for it to be done. When I returned to pick up the dress, I tried on before I left job in case there were any problems he would fix on site. I have no complaints. He honored my yelp coupon for $12 off bc I'd checked in. It was $80 without coupon. I'd recommend this establishment. I'd have no worry if your garment is pricey or high end bc they will do a great job! read more

I have not received my alterations yet, but I wanted to post a review based on the initial process. I brought in 5 suits to get tailored and during the invoicing a mistake was made to where one of alterations on the suits was not included. I received a call later that day from Barbara who was apologetic and explained the issue. She setup an appointment with me to meet with Nick the next day to discuss how he could make it right. I went in and after discussing the situation with Nick, he did make it right by knocking off some of the costs to get it within the price range I was expecting. He did not rush me or try to upsell me while I was there and I generally felt comfortable and this comfort further confirmed that the original mistake was truly a mistake. I appreciate Barabara's apology and upfront acknowledgement of the mistake and the way that Nick made things right. I will post an update once I get my alterations, but the way that they handle customers has been far and away one of the better experiences I have had at any business. read more

Got a suit tailored here. I noticed that there was some wrinkling in the body on the front by the seam. Asked about it then, they said they just needed to iron it and when I pick it up it would be fixed. When I picked it up. Still has the wrinkling and bunching. They said it was fine but I insisted to get it fixed. They said they opened it up and steamed it and it looked better when I left the shop. Throughout wearing it for the past year, wrinkling is still there and I went to another tailor to get an opinion. This tailor opened up the jacket and showed me that beyond bespoke altered the center seam which should never be done and sewed the canvas to the center seam causing the wrinkling. Now I have to pay the new tailor to take the suit jacket back to original then pay to get it refitted. If it wasn't an expensive suit I would have left it. But it's too nice and new of a suit to continue to wear wrinkled and I wouldn't trust beyond to fix it correctly since they messed up the suit in the first place. It was the center seam/dart on the front of the jacket on both sides of the jacket. No thanks, you guys almost ruined the jacket. read more

I was stupid and ordered a suit from one of those online custom suit websites (7 Regent Lane) that crunch out suits based on a few simple measurements. What I received was a disaster. It fit worse than most off-the-rack suits. The kicker is that the co-owner of the company actually did my measurements... how do you incorrectly measure the width of my shoulders?! Since it did have some cool custom features, I thought I'd take it to Nick and the team at Beyond Bespoke to fix up. The work was magical and I now have a great looking suit that I'm actually proud to wear. In my consultation, Nick gave excellent advice on how to fix up the suit. However, he did not pressure me at all in my decisions and I picked the alterations that I thought would be best for the time being. After coming back to pick up my suit, I decided to go with all of the other changes Nick had originally suggested. It ended up being a pretty expensive ordeal, but totally worth it. Ended up getting the shoulders taken in, the back smoothed out, the pants tapered among other more minor work. For my final visit, (Victor?) who was in the back doing the handwork came out to make sure my shoulders fit before he sewed everything back together. He was very knowledgeable and was able to get it just about perfect. I waited for less than an hour for him to finish everything up. It was incredible how speedy and top-notch his work was. The place does get crowded as most have said. Nick felt bad that I waited for a bit when he was extremely busy and even gave me a discount for that. Got a white, short BCBG dress taken in here. The people working here are very nice and helpful. I'm really pleased with the final product! It fits perfectly now. The only thing I can say is not so great is the pricing. I ended up getting charged 100$ for the job. Granted, the dress is rouged and has 2 layers (layers can drive a price up, I know), but not pattern or beading... I just found this wildly expensive. I've read that they're reasonable for other things (hems, etc), but man, the alterations were almost as much as the dress! read more

I was a bridesmaid in my sister's wedding and used these guys to shorten the hem of my dress. I was happy with the result and most everyone who I worked with were very nice to me. 1 of the women (she was Caucasian but I didn't get her name) was not as nice to me, but maybe she was just grumpy that day? Thanks Yelpers for helping me find another great place! Nick, Nelly and team are amazingly nice and very meticulous with their work. I brought in 2 dresses that needed some alterations: 1 - one shoulder pleated cocktail dress 2 - spaghetti strap dress with delicate details (i.e. all over petals that were hand sewn on a sheer overlay) I ended up bringing these 2 dresses on the Friday before Labor Day and didn't realize that their automated system shouldn't have taken my appt. as they were closed. I got there thinking that all was good and Nelly took in all my alterations but found out they were closed when another gentleman came in asking for Nick. I'm sure Nick would've stayed but he was already on his way out of the shop. I came back the following Wed to try on the altered dresses and they needed to make a few more adjustments. The 2nd time I came back (Thurs/Fri), the first dress (pleated cocktail) was perfect but the second still wasn't right. The issue was the hem, which was uneven and sloped downward on the left side. Nelly pinned a few areas for more adjustments and b/c it involved some hand sewing, I was asked to come back the next day (Sat). Nick was also there to lend a hand and worked with Nelly to make sure the next set of alterations were perfect. I needed this dress for an engagement shoot on Sun so we were really down to the wire. On the 3rd attempt, the dress was close to perfect. It's only slightly off right now (yes, I'm bummed) but honestly, the petals made it difficult to work with b/c of the way the it falls against the dress on someone wearing it. Unfortunately, I didn't even wear the dress since it was so cold on Sun but plan to wear it on the next formal occasion. The best part is that they have a 6 month guarantee so I will be bringing this dress back with me on the next trip there. They're great at what they do, super polite and wonderful to work with! I purchased a beautiful couture gown for my daughter to wear for her prom, I knew that even though the dress was her size some alterations needed to be made specially in the waist area (she has a 23 inch waist). Since the dress had little diamonds all over and the material of the dress was very delicate I knew I had to find an expert in altering dresses like that. So I took out my phone and used google! Lots and lots of different tailors in the city showed up all claiming they were experts but what stood out about "Bespoke and Beyond" was the fact that it had 100's of great reviews! My daughter's dress was a challenge but Nelly did an amazing job taking the waist in and bust area of the dress without looking like anything was done! She's an expert! I Totally recommend her! My daughter was so happy with her dress and I was very happy for the great work that they did that I will be going back for sure! Another thing, they are expensive but I believe that you get what you pay for, and in this case the final result of the alteration was worth every penny I paid! I've been here a few times. I love the new space. The first time I went I had a fabulous experience with getting everything altered. The next time I went to get something altered, it wasn't as fabulous, but Nick made it right. I was getting my bridesmaid gown altered for my brother's wedding. I informed the tailor that it wasn't even at the bottom and when he altered it if he could make it even at the bottom. He was just cutting off an inch and went an inch all the way around (not making it even.) I explained to him again that I understood he was just taking an inch, but could he make the bottom even when he did it. He said no problem. I was extremely disappointed when I came back to try it on and it wasn't even. So while I was disappointed they fixed it right away. Nick was great and I really appreciated him making sure I was happy. I will definitely be back and I've even sent my boss to get some of his things altered there. read more

My experience did not match at all from all the other reviewers. Went in for a hem on my Armani tux pants and was pretty horrified when I picked my pants and tried it on. Found one pant leg was shorter than the other?!?!? Ask the tailor to fix it. He couldn't get it right the second time. Third times a charm? Uh no... not really. I lined up both pant legs and he barely got it right the third time. At this point, I was in there probably a good 30-40 minutes. What was equally baffling was there were 3 other people there asking the tailor to fix their issues on the stuff they picked up and they were also waiting around like me! It is utterly frightening that as far as tailoring goes, the hem has got to be one of the most basic of asks and this tailor could not deliver. When I saw others were having issues, I knew I had to just get out of there and take my business elsewhere. The young guy running the place was nice enough and was trying to rectify the situation (would give him a 5 star on customer service). But unfortunately, their main service/product was a total zero star. read more

Probably the best service and professionalism I have seen at a tailor so far. Nick is always really helpful and will tell you when something really doesn't need any work. Usually other tailors will see alterations as an easy method to empty your wallets, but not Nick. I also really appreciate how well they honor their one year guarantee on their alterations. I had my wedding dress altered here and while I appreciated the work of the seamstress, I would not recommend this place for a wedding. They are very disorganized with scheduling and the space is not appropriate for trying and altering wedding dresses. In my case, during one of my final fittings I noticed my dress was really dirty. They do not require any guests to take off shoes and the floor and alterations space is dirty enough that my train was filthy. They did offer to have it professionally cleaned which I appreciated however they did not get it done in time. When I called late afternoon the day before my wedding they still didn't have the dress done even though we had agreed it would be ready that morning. Under normal circumstances this would be OK but for them to be late with a wedding dress the evening before the wedding is not good. I will say as far as alterations go, my seamstress was lovely and did a good job. The owner is a nice guy too- they just really need to get the place more organized. I would recommend people go here for non-wedding related/no rush alterations. read more

EXPENSIVE AF!!! I had a bridesmaid dress hemmed an inch or two and it cost $105. It was a basic hem on a chiffon dress (the dress had a double layer). However, the other girls in the bridal party had the same hem job done on the same dress for $25-$45 elsewhere. When I expressed my sheer disbelief at the price I was being charged, they joked that they have to pay their rent in this prime midtown location. (Valid point.) Let me be clear: they did do a great job on the tailoring, and the service was very prompt and professional. It was just triple the price it could have been had I shopped around. You're simply being upcharged for the convenience. If you have that kind of $$$ to spend, this place is perfect! read more

I was looking for a better tailor and I found it! Beyond Bespoke has exceeded my expectations. Nick is a great tailor and offers many different options. I had him tailor dress pants, dress shirts and I'm now having him tailor a new suit I had recently purchased. My friends had asked me where I shop and are probably wondering how much I paid for this or that and to be perfectly honest, I do purchase good stuff from Macy's or Century 21 but it's Nick that makes the alterations spot on. He'll tailor the clothing to fit your body perfect and leave enough room if need be necessary. He gives you different options as I had mentioned; maybe you want a taper here or there and each will give a slightly different look. Which do you like? It depends on your taste and its great to have options and he's knowledgeable and knows whats out there and what look works . I would advise anyone looking to have some alterations done to try Beyond Bespoke and I would imagine you'll be going back!!! read more
