If I could give this place zero stars I would. Very unprofessional groomers. Very unimpressed with the outcome of the bath and brush out and on top of that once I bring my pup home she is constantly licking at her back paws only to find her bleeding due to two nails cut wayyyy too short. When I call them, I can hear the groomer confirming they cut the nails too short and just "didn't tell me" so now I have to bring her back to get them cared for. Just over all very unimpressed. Will never be bringing my dog back here, going to continue to give my service to Stinky Dawg and I recommend everyone else does too. Blows my mind how this place is still open. read more

The first time I took my puppy, Sully, to Petopia for a full grooming I was very nervous. It was only his 2nd time getting groomed and he didn't have the best experience the first time at a different groomer. When I picked him up it was a completely different experience than at the other groomers. Sully was calmer and seemed happy! His haircut was great and he even got a super cute bandana. I've also left him for daycare so he could interact with other dogs and he loved it! Also, Petopia is reasonably priced compared to other pet groomers. I highly, highly recommend! :) read more

I sadly can't give lower than a 1 Star here. I was excited to try this place and read some great reviews here. After waiting to be helped I felt like I was more of a bother than a welcomed customer. The lady that helped me didn't seem too concerned with customer service or hospitality. I left feeling like I was more a burden and problem just for asking simple questions. It easy could have been a bad day for her but at some point you have to leave your baggage at the door. People don't go to Disney World to see Mickey Mouse cry, and they don't go to Beyond Grooming to feel like a burden. I will stick to my other groomer in SM. Thanks again. read more

This place was awesome! After reading reviews on yelp AND having random people in front of Petsmart tell us about me we decided to take our pup Elcie here for a bath and cut. She spent yesterday afternoon digging and lounging and playing with her cousin outside so she was gross and stinky afterwards. HAPPY HAPPY dog but very stinky. We took her to Petopia and was very happy when we picked her up. When we got there we weren't sure about the length of her haircut, we're first time puppy parents btw! We took her twice to Petsmart before and were not given any options really, trim or shave....basically it. The woman (I'm sorry I totally forgot her name) at Petopia took us back to the grooming room and showed us how she would look at different hair lengths. She's a terrier so she has lots of hair! This was so nice and we decided on a length for her haircut. We left and within 2.5-3 ish hours later she was back in our arms, smelling AMAZING and her haircut, perfect. We also bought her a New England Patriots bandana and some treats! Overall, this will be where we take her from now on! I take my cats here to get their nails trimmed. First of all, they cost half what my vet charges and don't require me to pay an office visit or ensure their shots are up-to-date before they'll trim their nails! Recently I took in a friend's cat that needed to be shaved. Her long fluffy fur was matted something horrible. It took several hours to groom her and shave all that fur off and bathe her. I didn't realize business owners could delete reviews. This was the review I posted that somehow didn't appear as accepted! I think there might be a reason for that. I so wanted to love this place. I needed a groomer and called and they accepted walk-ins that same day (Saturday from 9-1). I took my 2 babies there and Michelle showed me the cut they were going to have and actually shaved part of my female to show me. I thought it was going to be great. They told me it would be about 4 hours and it was about 4.5 - not unacceptable. When I picked them up I was super happy with the results of the grooming. They looked great. What I then noticed I wasn't so happy about. My male was limping on his front feet the rest of the day and on Sunday as well. I felt his paw pads (which always feel like sandpaper) and there were smooth circles on them. It seemed like someone had sanded them down. I called Michelle on Monday and she assured me that they didn't sand down paw pads but she did notice that day that another dog was dancing around outside and there was a black mat that might have been too hot and she instructed her staff to put a towel down instead of the mat in case it was burning their feet. She apologized and I didn't make a big deal out of it. She said his paw pads could have been burned a bit. Then on Tuesday I was petting my female (the other dog that was groomed there) and felt something unusual on her chest. It was clotted blood. After looking closely it looked like a puncture wound. Knowing that a dog could not have bit her in the area the wound was - I still don't know if it was a razor nick that got infected and then burst or what. I have dressed the wound and hopefully it will heal without going to the vet. Update: it is a nipple that was sliced off! Anyway, like I said I wanted to LOVE this place but my dogs both came back with issues. read more

This is hands down the best place to go for your furry friends. I have a boy catahoula who weighs at least 80 lbs and hates nothing more than getting his nails trimmed. Every time I take him here to get them done, I'm always allowed to stay with him and Michelle pops him up on the table no problem and goes for it. He always fights with all his strength and she never gets frustrated or gives up. She is so nice and calm the whole time and does an amazing job regardless of my huge boy doing everything he can to stop her. And the prices are amazing. I would 100% recommend going here! read more

I took my golden Milo into the groomers today and had the most incredible experience, as always. Carlos (I believe is his name) is the most kind person and I always feel so safe leaving Milo in his hands. Michelle is great and is always so patient when I ask her a lot of questions on the phone regarding the best time to bring Milo in. Being a college student and having my first dog on my own is scary and I was fearful of finding the right groomer to meet his needs and Beyond Grooming has gone beyond my expectations. I have been taking Milo here for the past 3 years and have never been so happy about pampering him and the love he receives when he goes here. The price is affordable and reasonable for the services and quality of the services he received, he looks great every time he leaves. This is our new place to take our dog for his "spa day". We have an older chow mix and his fur is so thick and do hard to brush and get clean with a bath at home. We took Chester there and the staff was super friendly and knew his name instantly. He is not the most social dog, but the receptionist led him away and he never even looked back to me. When we went to pick him up, he was a different dog. Wow he was so handsome. And when they shampoo each boy dog the get a bandana. Chester loves his. Anyway they got him in quickly, within 1 day and finished him within 3 hours. I am impressed with how well they took care of my old friend. And everyone there was super nice and the price was way less than I though, for shampoo, brush out, nail clip and teeth clean. Will definitely take him to Beyond Grooming again. read more

Completely disappointed and dissatisfied. Took my pup for a full bath, which included nail trims, de-shed, ear cleaning, etc. When I got him back he was still shedding, I could rake out hair with my bare hands, and I don't mean just one or two hairs I'm talking about a whole hair ball. Then I noticed he was messing with his paws, well turns out around 5 or 6 of his nails were split and I had to fix them for him to be comfortable. Not to mention the visible earwax that was supposed to be cleaned out. I understand that dogs can be difficult, but as "professionals" they should be able to do a job and do it well. I have never regretted a decision as much as I regret choosing beyond grooming. Safe yourself whatever money you're gonna spend and groom your dog yourself, at least that way you know the job gets done and your pup is taken care of. If I could give less than a star I would. read more

I was looking for a groomer to take my German Shepherd to get bathed and have her nails trimmed. I was nervous to take my Lola but when I got there the experience was delightful. During this trying time with covid, I am thankful that they have two lines set up outside for drop off and quick nail service. When they came out to get Lola they were so caring and Lola was not scared to go with them. It took less time to groom her than expected and when I picked her up she looked well groomed. We have 4 other chihuahuas and took them to get their nails done and we had the same great experience. PLEASE READ!!!! Have been going to Petopia for about 8-9 months, My dog Murphy is my baby. WELL the groomer accidentally cut him or burned him on his neck and I guess they thought nothing would happen but about a week later Murphy was oozing pus out of his left side of his neck:/. I informed the owner of what happened and asked for help with the vet bill since I've been a reliable customer for so long and basically got a sorry but were not responsible. We don't have other dogs Murphy is inside a lot since its so hot and he weighs over 110lbs. This is my first trip to Petopia and i have to say I am extremely pleased. Not only was I impressed with the friendly staff and wide variety of supplies, but I went in to get food for my ball python and was having trouble with my card going through. I was getting upset because I just found out that the mice I have been feeding her are too small and she has been out in her cage looking for food every night and I just didn't realize it. So of course I felt horrible as an animal mom and wanted to get food for her right away. One of the ladies there was sweet enough to let me take the small rat so I could feed my hungry snake tonight instead of waiting for payday as long as I go back tomorrow and square up. I'm new to San Marcos and was in need of a groomer for my German Shepard Duky. Of course I used Yelp to find just the right one! Beyond Grooming is fantastic! Not only was Duky groomed to perfection but she was calm...she usually hates getting groomed. The customer service was great! They listened to what I wanted and that Duky hates when I leave...they suggested I don't leave until they walked her into the back...she never knew I left. This place was sooo much better than stinky dawgs! 100% recommend this place. I took my Rottweiler here after she was close with a dog who had fleas, and was able to tell them that she needed any kind of flea treatment and they did it. She came back super happy, clean, and smelled so good. She was smiling when we got her, and it only took about an hour and a half (since she is 90lbs, most places take 2-3 hours). Price was cheap, we got the special cleaning, with the flea treatment up-charge. Highly recommend! read more
