1-Star Review I went in on my lunch break hoping to get some quick help for an ingrown toenail that started bothering me -- I had just gotten my pedicure done here three days ago. I politely asked if they could fix it, and even said I'd pay for the service. Instead of helping, the staff looked at me with disgust and told me they "don't do that kind of thing." What made the situation worse is how they treated me personally. I work in residential painting and construction, so I had a little paint on my clothes. The way they reacted made it very clear they were judging my appearance. They started talking in their own language and laughing, making me feel completely uncomfortable and disrespected. No one deserves to be treated that way, especially when you're coming in as a paying customer. Discrimination -- whether based on appearance, profession, or anything else -- is unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I hope others think twice before supporting a business that treats people this way. read more

I'm kind of torn on my review for this place. Ultimately, the staff were absolutely lovely -- super friendly and always with big smiles -- and they seem to interact very well with all clients. It's rare to see this in a nail salon these days and I have no doubt people come back because of the staff. Also, when I look back now, about five days since I visited, I can say my pedicure looks pretty good. I should also note the salon was packed when I walked in -- this often suggests it's a decent place! So this review is really 3.5 stars...... That being said, there were some concerns I had during my actual visit: - there was a suuuuuper strong chemical smell the moment I walked in -- incredibly overpowering - I had made a last-minute booking for 5pm but wasn't actually "attended to" until close to 5.30pm - the pedicure chairs were a bit old and rickety/rundown (but the massage itself still worked well enough) - the salon tech was very generous to offer to cut out my ingrown toenail and did so with expertise (I was most grateful!) -- but she also really dug/cut into my skin and my toes were bleeding for a bit ... ouch! - I don't know how sanitary the utensils are that were used -- the salon tech pulled them straight out of her apron pocket rather than a sterilized jar read more

Once I got dip nails at this really cheap spot on the Westbank and they were SO UGLY!! When I went in there they fixed them so they looked 10000x better. The second time I went in I got dip nails w tips. They are all the exact same shape. I didn't even know that was possible. I've been here many times, but I think I'm done after today. I've long felt that this nail salon is the nail equivalent of that restaurant where people go when they want to be harassed and made fun of. But today I had June, who I cringe whenever I get, and she took it to the next level. She told me I looked tired, burned my skin several times with the drill (last time I was there they cut me and I was bleeding), and instead of saying "sorry" told me how sensitive I was. She chastised me that my prior polish wasn't coming off fast enough, asked me over and over again why I didn't get my prior manicure there, and when I told her the bowl of nearly boiling water they had brought me to stick my fingers in was too hot, they told me it wasn't and that I "should have told the girl that" (the girl had dropped it off about 9 seconds before and I hadn't had a chance to). It just really wasn't a relaxing or fun experience. A woman walked in and said she had an appointment with another technician, Mimi, and June told her Mimi had quit. The woman looked confused as to why she hadn't been notified of the change and June continued the joke for several minutes while snickering at this woman with her colleague. (Mimi had not quit). All around, I just don't think people are looking to be bullied and belittled while they pay $60 to have their nails done, and I know that I'm not, so I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I had been to Beyond years ago so decided to go again since I wanted my nails done for NYE. Horrible idea. The ladies that work there were so incredibly rude; I should have just walked out instead of tolerating it. They rolled their eyes at me when I asked to look at polish colors. I was directed to sit in a chair that had another woman's purse on it and when I pointed that out, I was told pretty aggressively to just sit down anyway. Once I had picked out my color and told it to the woman doing my nails, another worker walked up and asked what color I wanted. I responded "I let her know I wanted whateverthecolorwas" to which she basically yelled at me "well we're 2 different people and you didn't tell me!" Considering she wasn't doing my nails anyway, I'm unsure why she was so aggressive about needing to know my color? I wish I could write zero stars, worst nail salon ever !!!! No customer service skills at all. If you are African American they treat you differently, racist !!! I gave them another try after the first time they messed up my nails because everyone else was booked. They charge high prices and do horrible nails. My nail is cracked after two weeks because of weak foundation from them, and I went to get my nail fixed, they lied and said the manager was not there. I was looking at her. I called the next day before I went there because per staff she would be there. They lied and said she was on vacation. I would like a call from the "Real Manager" who is on vacation until Friday my butt !!! I am a manager and I will never recommend this hotel that is 5 mins from my job !!! I did not like the service I received today. I had an appointment scheduled for weeks. I had not had a pedicure in 3 months because I had hurt my foot and was in a boot. The pedicure lasted all of 6 minutes. The longest thing was the polish. She rushed and did not massage. I look over to another client and they looked like they was getting the care they was supposed to get for the amount of money that is paid. Very disappointed because I know since I had not had a pedicure in 3 months it should of taken more time and care. They will not get my business again. I wanted my nails really short she said she couldn't get them any shorter when I've had them shorter in the past. Really disappointed with my last visit here. I've been coming here for nearly 2 years and on Saturday I was late because I have a newborn at home and overslept for my appointment. I called first thing when I woke up and they said "come when you can." Yes, I got there an hour after my appointment time and I apologized profusely. I even offered to come back later or wait until the salon slowed down. My nail tech scolded me and made me feel the size of an ant. Telling me she could have had another client in my spot. She rushed through my manicure, not clipping all cuticles and the polish is a mess. My first pedicure ever at 51 years old. While putting my flip flops on my feet she messed up the paint on my big toe, left foot. She painted over the mess up and did not put the shine on top of that. So now I have an obviously touched up toe nail-you can tell there is a cover up-and it's dull. So I went and bought a shine to paint on top but the defect still stands out. She should have taken the Polish off that toe and reapplied, especially for the price they charge. Very disappointing first time read more

First of all... RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, UNPROFESSIONAL! This was a first and last visit. Walked in and specified that I wanted to soak off the old set and get a new set. I was guided(by Deb) to a backroom and sat down. The lady("Deb" who is, but I don't know how, is the assistant manager) who drilled off the gel and also for some reason drilled the length of my natural nails down(FYI I wanted to keep my natural length and she just helped herself to drilling my nails off) gave me these hand holding trays that hold a solution to soak the nails off but Deb didn't even fill the trays properly... so I'm just chilling there thinking its soaking off and it's not. I had to say something to one of the other girls and she politely filled them and even joked with me, I'm a humorous person so I can dig it. Now for the part of getting to the actual nail designing...I am asking my manicurist(NOT DEB, WHO BY THE WAY IS NOT DOING MY NAILS) a few questions. Wellll "Deb" decides she is going to interrupt and I'm trying to ask my question about the placement of the fake nail tip SINCE SHE(DEB) WAS THE ONE WHO DRILLED THE LENGTH OF MY NATURAL NAILS OFF AND I NOW HAD TO GET TIPS.... (REMINDER this is my first time visiting there, and it's my hard earned money, and it's my hands that will have to wear these nails) WEELLLL, She(DEB) proceeds to talk out of lane and tells me oh let her do blah blah and to shut up. I have been there 4 times now. They are the only place I have found near me since I have moved back to New Orleans that have soft opaque pink and American/soft white solar nails. I was told only 4 girls in the shop do solar nails and when I asked if I can request the same person every time I come in, I was told no, which I thought VERY ODD. But until today, I had no problems. I had two different ladies, both did a great job. Today I got Tina. She seemed friendly at first, but got rude if you made any request or pointed out any corrections that needed to be made. She does not shape or smooth the nails well at all. I recommend staying away from Tina. Otherwise, they do a good jobs with your nails. read more

Prices are responsible for a Mani+pedi (55), while they will accept credit/debit cards the first time, they don't on a normal basis, so bring cash or check. The pedis are lasting fine so far as well as my daughters nails, but my polish started to peel off Sat night! My mother and I have been loyal customers of Beyond Nails for over two years now. They usually do a good job and have pleasant staff. However, this morning we walked in together at 9:50AM and were ignored until we got up and left at 10:30AM. We would have stayed and this would have been only a slightly annoying experience if anyone had said to us "we're sorry," or "having a busy morning" or "you'll have a longer wait today" or "someone will see you as soon as they can." But no one said a word to us, not even when we got up and left out of frustration. There are plenty of decent nail salons in the New Orleans area. We will find another one. read more
