The small salon has three chairs/stylists who have all have 25+ years experience!! No straight out of beauty school stylists here! They accept walk-ins but it's always been busy when I go so I'd definitely recommend an appointment. I have been seeing Diane regularly for cuts and color for almost a year and am never disappointed. She listens to what I want, gives her advise and has always delivered on what we decide on. I feel comfortable asking her to tweak the cut if it's not exactly what I envisioned and she takes the time to make sure I leave happy. When I first started going to Hair's 2 You I was the type who would get a hair cut every 5-6 months and usually kept my hair in a pony tail. So even though I wanted big changes (new color, new style...) I was scared! Over many visits Diane worked with me to make small changes I was comfortable with and as the trust grew so did my boldness! I love my hair every day! At approximately 9:15 AM, Jessica arrived with a fresh coffee in hand. She did not acknowledge me as she got settled and prepared her workstation. Around 9:18 AM, she finally invited me over and asked "what do you want". I explained that I believed I had booked a blowout with hot rollers. I had called about six weeks earlier to make the appointment because I couldn't book that service through the online system. Jessica told me she didn't have hot rollers and could only use a curling iron. I declined the curling iron but said I would still like to proceed with the blowout. She asked me a few questions about how I wanted my hair styled. Since this was my first professional blowout, I answered as best I could, though I didn't have strong opinions on every detail. I then said, "If it's okay with you, we can skip the wash." My hair was still damp from my shower, and my makeup was done, so I was simply trying to preserve it. Jessica appeared to take this personally. She responded abruptly, saying something along the lines of, "I can tell you're irritated with me for being late. I drove an hour to get here and recently had a procedure, so I'm moving slow." I was completely caught off guard and replied that I hadn't said anything to suggest I was upset. She insisted it was my "energy" and repeatedly asked whether I wanted her to continue or if I wanted someone else to do my hair because I was "clearly irritated" with her. Throughout the conversation, she continued explaining why she had been late. After being asked multiple times if I wanted another stylist, I finally agreed that I no longer wanted her to do my hair because she had made me feel so uncomfortable. I called my fiancé to come pick me up and ended up crying outside, ruining all of my wedding makeup. The receptionist kindly came outside to check on me and even suggested other salons. Unfortunately, there were no other stylists available. By that point, I had less than an hour before I needed to leave for my civil ceremony, and I had to redo my makeup, dry my hair, and style it myself. No one should leave a salon feeling the way I did--especially on their wedding day.

I saw that alot of the staff was very young so I went through them all one by one, and having been burned in the past at other salons I chose Bella since she was clearly older, and the owner of the salon. When I arrived she came and greeted me after a few minutes and then told me to hold on. She only had told me Hello and then left. A different person came and got me a minute later. We did a small consultation of what I was looking for and honestly the whole time I was confused. I knew this didn't look like the picture of the person I had booked nor the correct age but I thought maybe Bella was running late and she would come in after, although nothing was said to me in anyway. I also thought maybe she is Bella and I had messed up when I booked. When she started washing my hair she asked my name and I told her, and then asked hers and she told me she was Kaitlin. I mentioned that I was pretty sure I booked with Bella and she told me, yes you did but she's taking longer than she thought and so she put you on me instead. I was a little taken aback, but she said I'm really good! I cut Bella's hair! Based off the fact that NOONE has asked me if this was okay or if I wanted to wait for Bella or reschedule I was already pretty upset but my hair was soaking wet, and it was 20 degrees out so I didn't really feel like I could walk out. I decided to give this girl a chance because at this point I was a little stuck and I really didn't want to offend her. But had it been explained to me ahead of time, I would have rescheduled. I asked for curtain bangs to hide a patch in my hairline and volume. I also asked for a side part. Later when I realized my hair didn't look right I looked up curtain bangs and discovered you can't get them with a side part, so she gave me side bangs, which in all fairness I asked for a side part, but I'm not an expert and she should have explained it would no longer be curtain bangs. She gave me as much volume as my hair would allow, and did most of the cut on dry straight hair even though my hair is permed so that's not its natural state. I didn't think of that at the time, but she should have. Before I left Bella did come over and apologize, when, ya know, it was way too late for me to make a difference choice. When I left there Kaitlin had given me a lot of volume, I told her it wouldn't hold but that I loved volume and she delivered. However the moment I get home and all the volume was gone, it didn't look good anymore, and once I washed it, the bangs are awful with my normal hair texture. I would go someplace else to have them fixed but they're too short so I will have to wait till they grow out. Lastly they ONLY accept cash but continently have an atm in the salon. The reason I call that convienent is that it's a common thing people do to scam their customers out of extra money. The fees associated with the atm always go to the owner of the establishment so they usually charge cash to force you to use it, and don't warn you before you come in. It also doesn't state it ANYWHERE on their site so that must be exactly what she is doing. It's not the first place I've dealt with that only deals in cash. Makes it easier for them to declare what they choose on taxes as well, but usually they give a heads up.

After two attempts at getting in as a first time client, without an appointment, I was finally accommodated by Sarah, the business owner. Sarah is friendly enough but still professional. Listens well and open to suggestions. While she politely asked me for a preference, I made sure to tell her other than broad stroke ideas, that I would let her do what she thinks is best for my personality, lifestyle, and facial shape. If that meant chopping off 2 inches, I am fine with it. Thankfully, she was thinking the same as I was and that is to keep the length and add more fringe layers for now. Keeping it safe for a first time visit. Great! Nervous about layers as really not all stylists can do it WELL. Voila! I was happy with mine. Good symmetry. She also did not feel the need to criticize my grown out, unequal cut just to strengthen her case to be my new go-to hairstylist. I liked that.
