I had the good fortune of walking in today while it wasn't too busy. I was greeted immediately by Victoria, and I felt at ease by her friendly and helpful demeanor. The salon is clean and spacious, I did feel at peace during my entire visit. Victoria was also my manicurist and gave me an amazing dip powder manicure. We chatted about my recent move to the area, California, and her son. I felt so grateful for the attentive, personalized service Victoria gave me. Victoria referred to all of her other clients by name-- you notice how much she cares. I read some recent reviews with complaints about wait times-- as someone who likes to pamper herself, sometimes when you're getting a beauty service you just have to be patient. Give your masseuse/manicurist/hairdresser grace, and the result will be worth it. Again, I was really lucky to walk in and be seen almost immediately for a manicure. This was my 3rd time. I really tried giving them my business, but after this last time, I will not be going back or recommending them. I have paid $45 for my fill, which is fine. This last time I asked if they had time for a pedi, which she said yes. I requested a basic pedi. When I went to pay, it was $85 dollars. $40 for a basic pedicure? Which I would have paid without complaining, but unfortunately my toes look awful, looks like a child would have painted them better. Also, next day my gel on my finger chipped, the ends of my nails were never painted. I understand they were probably rushing (as next appointment was there waiting), but they should probably have said either no, or done it properly. This was very disappointing, because I don't have lots of free time to go back, and now I have chipped finger nails and my toes look awful. For $85 plus tip, I would expect a much better job. read more

Terrible manicure job. The manicure took 12 minutes to get done. The nails never got cleaned out from underneath and the paint job looks like a child did it, with the nail bed not even painted completely. Terrible cuticle work. Nails look all crooked. Waste of money, time and tip. The salon looks dirty, sticky tables, messy with boxes of stuff laying around. Updated. It's been two days since this awful manicure job and it looks like I haven't had my nails done in a week. I didn't want my nails or my cuticle cut. I do, however, want my nails painted even and not in patches with the spots on the sides of the nail completely missed. They did the ugliest job painting the nails here. I did call and rescheduled my appointment and came in on time and was taken in as a client. If you agree to take a client, you give them service the only way you know how. Terrible manicure and terrible service. Even one star not deserved. read more

I found this place while absentmindedly driving around my new area, after moving to RI from HI. I had seen it a few times while getting lost in the clocktower square shopping plaza, and made a mental note of it for the inevitable day where I needed a polish fix. Since then, I've been twice. I had my first pedicure by the lady there, and she was excellent. She was gentle, efficient, and very good, including making sure all the edges were clean, and gave me a amazing calf and foot massage. The second time I got the guy, and he was also very good. He checked in with me multiple times on the temperature of the water, if he was scrubbing too hard, and if the massage pressure was good for me. I was delighted with this attention to ensuring customer satisfaction, which is a huge improvement from the last place on aquidneck where I got a pedicure before here. Prices are decent, parking is plentiful, and the facility is super clean. Some downsides are they have their infant there with them, and while they are working, it's stuck in a sleeper, crying by itself which can be distracting and makes me sad for it. Also, the most recent color that I got chipped within just a few days, so that was a bummer to me. Finally, with only two of them there, I imagine it might be a pretty good wait if you came in with friends or without an appointment. Overall, pretty good option for this area, as long as you know what you're getting into. read more

Went to get a Dip with extensions on Monday 09/11 and paid $70. Friday rolls around and one falls off randomly without me doing anything. It is now Sunday and 4 nails have just fallen off! Haven't done anything rough with my hands whatsoever and everywhere else I go they last at least 3-4weeks. I called on friday to see if I could get my one nail fixed and they said they would charge me! Horrible, half- assed work and too much money for the awful quality ! All in all, I walked out with a cute manicure, from a clean salon, that lasted about 3+ weeks. I deducted a star because this was the fastest and most rushed nail appointment I've ever had. I didn't even have time for my nails to cure completely between coats so I was shocked the manicure lasted as long as it did. I arrived about 10 mins early for my appointment and my tech got started right away. About 20 mins into my manicure someone else walked in with an appointment for the same person who was doing my nails. I felt like I was then rushed to get out asap. I cannot understand why two appointments were booked so closely together (especially when I booked mine for a gel manicure with nail art). Again, the end result was great, but I had been looking forward to relaxing a bit which I did not get. read more

Was so excited to discover a new salon! Sadly, it was a HUGE letdown and a total waste of 72.00. A friend and I both had appointments for first thing this morning for mani/pedi's and we both left totally disappointed. Nobody would ever believe that I had a manicure or pedicure today! The guy didn't even clean up the cuticle area!! Every manicure/pedicure I have ever had in the past the salon would always removes the overgrown cuticle, and clean things up making a bigger nail bed. Ummm... NOT HERE!!!!! He just painted right on top of it! Some nails are even crooked looking where the cuticle grew on an angle. The gel polish didn't even completely cover all of the nail bed and the edges are not painted! Same on my toes! He started putting a silver glitter on top of my big toe and I said no I don't like that, I just want iridescent glitter, so he came back with the correct glitter and painted the remaining toes and then went to put top coat on top of the ODD nail with the silver glitter!!!!! I was like "UMM can you please remove that so ALL MY TOES MATCH!!" I was in shock. Never even took the time to clean the polish off my skin!! I could've done a better job myself!!! I don't know what the deal was with the place but we will not ever be back! My friend had her nails powder dipped and they are all dented and blotchy looking and she absolutely hates them! Oh, one more thing, the owner's have their infant with them here and he likes to do a bit of crying and screaming, so.... keep that in mind. Not very relaxing! Seek out another salon!! read more

I've come here a few times and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I think they changed the employees I paid $65 for my nails and my friend paid $55 both including tip. We both left unimpressed my nails aren't even and I said something multiple times and just decided not to say anything anymore. I wanted to do a chrome accent nail but the chrome was chunky and nothing like the sample nail so I asked her do a gold accent nail instead but it's very sheer. My friend was left soaking her nails for an hour and one of the other lady's had to go and get her person and she seemed to forget that she was working on someone. As well as she wanted a basic French nail with dip powder but she couldn't do it so another lady came to help and left her client to do her whole set. Just seemed pretty unprofessional and I was already done by the time that they started with her. Not to mention we made an appointment a few days before hand at 9 o'clock over the phone to have them call us back the next day to day they don't open until 10. read more

I usually love coming here. I've had some great work done before. I've only ever been with the owner but the wife. Both of them are kind good people. This time I was super unhappy with my nails they look bulbous and like I did them myself he put on a lot of coats and the color didn't come out as dark green. It was 50 but I honestly feel like I threw my money away. I really like them personally but the work is not what it was. I sent my friend there in October and her nails also came out wonky I thought it was a 1 off but I don't think I'll be back. read more

I love this shop! The owners are very friendly and try to speak to you by name providing grade A customer service! The quality of work they do Is amazing the acrylic here last 3 weeks or more depending on how rough you are on your hands but I'm pretty rough and I always get almost 4 weeks before I need a fill. I tell all My friends to go here because we are not locals and it's hard to find quality in Newport while we are stationed here but this is the best place on the island by far. Call for an appointment because they are low on staff but at least your not stuck waiting all Day! read more

Went to this place a few weeks ago, for the first time. Really wanted to like it, since I recently moved to the area and haven't found a good nail salon. When I called to book the appointment, they quoted me $35/pedicure. They assigned me a lady who clearly hadn't done many pedicures before mine. had filled the basin with cold water, didn't give me any time to soak my feet before she started, wasn't able to hold the tools right, and lastly, her co-worker noticed that she was having difficulty, and had to help her . I understand everyone has to start somewhere, but I also believe if the person has no experience, the prices should also be adjusted. At the time to pay, they quoted me $40 saying I had picked a color that was an extra $5, although they had that color mixed with the regular ones and I had no idea that was a special one. I've been going here for about 2 years now. And while I love everyone there and I think they do a nice job with my nails, I am a mom to two small babies and if I get a chance to step away for some relaxation and pampering (which is basically never) , I find it not only stressful but heartbreaking to watch their little 2 yr old stay locked in a room off the salon where you can see and hear how upset he is to be in there alone. Everytime I'm there I tell myself it's fine and he's fine, he's got toys and tv, But it's really just too emotional for me to go there now. I think I have to find a new salon for my own emotional sanity and that makes me sad cause I want to support them. They are wonderful people and doing the best they can for their son I'm sure. But it's too hard to see it. So if you're like me , and this would really bother you, it might be best to find somewhere else to go. read more

I find it funny how many "Karen's" that are out there complaining and giving bias reviews about this place. First of all, I just want to say this is one of the CLEANEST salon I've been to in the entire state of RI even pre COVID. They use new tools & dispose of their single use items as well as social distancing precautions. I'm a cosmetologist myself and had been through all those infection control classes. It's a tough time for everyone, and The husband & wife are doing their best. All the staffs there are so friendly & accommodating. My daughter and I went there to get our nails done for an important occasion. We both got acrylics, gel and a pedicure. It was very expensive and we left a large gratuity. Two days later one of my nails broke in half and one fell off. I called to ask them if they could repair it. I offered to pay. They were too busy to do it but told me I could come in the next day. When I called them the next day the owner told me he wouldn't be able to fit me in until the weekend, when I would have been out of town for the occasion. He absolutely refused to fit me in to do a repair of the poor manicure I received. I now cannot get an appointment anywhere else and I don't know what to do. I cannot take it off myself and I'm going to have to go with this awful mess on my hands. I am disgusted by their attitude and will never return. I highly recommended you do not patronize this establishment. The three of them are too rushed, don't do a good job, and don't want to hire anyone else. read more

The first time I came here they did a great job with my nails. The dip lasted over two weeks and I was very pleased with the way it went. My second visit, I wanted a light gray color on my nails and picked from their swatches. When the dip was being applied to my nails it looked bright blue, and the guy said that the color would change to the light gray that I had chosen. After he was finished, it was very apparent that my nails were bright blue and he said that it was because the swatch "oxidized" and that I could come back to get them fixed another time. On top of being dissatisfied with the loud bright color on my nails, I was charged full price. I hate to give this place two stars because the first time I really enjoyed the way my nails came out, but I'm not sure if I'll be back a third time. read more

Very honest opinions from the employees. Not so happy to hear that I got my nails done at "Venus nails and spa" in fall River. He completely fixed my nail shape and filled my nails to make sure they were even and treated correctly. It was a little pricy getting it done but I understand the reshaping and trying to fix the damage that Venus had done. Highly recommend this nail salon, although they can only have 2 people at a time due to short staff so make sure to tip well for the amazing service!!! read more

The manicure was below average at best. My main complaint is that the do not take Covid 19 seriously. They do not practice social distancing. They tried to seat me right beside another person. There were at least 8 manicure stations and only one was being used and they wanted me to sit about 6 inches from the other customer. They do not clean and disinfect up to anyone's standards even if it were pre covid. I felt so uncomfortable there ! I would not recommend this place at all. THIS PLACE IS SO BAD. I got my nails done and he rushed through them and cut them short like my toenails. They are literal stubs. I asked for short and they took it to the extreme.
