I had a color and cut appointment with Showa, what a dissapointment! I am a Licensed Aveda practitioner and used to the whole Aveda experience that I did not receive . I paid over $ 500.00 for this service and was highly disappointed. Showa razor cut my hair to death, one side was layered and the other side was noticeably not. She let someone finish my hair because her next client was there. I re-scheduled to have to fixed. I was seated in the chair no hair wash just right back to razor cutting! So, truth be told I've never been here. Looking at spas and salons that have high reviews. I plan to visit several contemplating opening my own. I just don't wanna have to deal with people people working with me that have a bunch of issues. Hairstylist, can be very professional if they were trained correctly. The trainer you got in beauty school is sufficient, but it is not training for business. Living in the Bay Area, all my life aside from a short time when I lived in Georgia, I've realized how entitled many many of these people are. Clients sometimes have unrealistic expectations. It's up to us as Hairstylist to be honest with them if we can't do what they wish to do with their hair or if it's not gonna look like the picture, they need to understand that. Some people don't and the demand to be perfect is sometimes also difficult. Again, Hairstylist are artists and if a client is too demanding, the stylist is not going to do the best job they can do. It's kind of like being forced to paint a picture a certain way. And you know that brushstrokes because you've done it for the last 40 years, but somebody is in front of you putting pressure on you to do it a certain way. This is one of the worst salons I have ever been to. Especially because they are an Aveda salon. I think more than anything is that the stylists who work there are just really weird personalities. I remember when I went there and had my hair done by someone I had never seen and I think it was the next day I saw her in the parking lot and said Hi to her. She completely ignored me like I wasn't there. It was so strange. We hadn't had any negativity when I came to the salon except she was very quiet. Not a problem, but for a stylist it was not the average experience. The owner is also as social as a rock. Not unfriendly but not happy to see you either. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I can't say I am pleased with the haircut. Everyone was kind and hospitable, but the cut itself was bad, especially given the high price point. I was booked with a junior stylist which I didn't think would be an issue, but the cut turned out very choppy and was not at all what I wanted and communicated. The layers were very harsh and much, much shorter than I asked for. I ended up having to go to another stylist and she had to cut a ton off to make it look better. If it wasn't such a high price point I wouldn't be as upset, but paying $130 for a haircut I had to get fixed at another salon is really disappointing. Definitely not "Aveda" quality... Not only the most unprofessional haircut i got for $150 by a "senior" stylist but also the most unprofessional treatment. The stylist accepted me 10 mins late for my appointment and told me that she cannot do the blow-dry after the haircut since her next appointment was right after. I was excited for my visit on Friday, June 26th. My stylist, Ellie, was very kind and pleasant. I got highlights and a haircut. In terms of the actual color, it was what I imagined. The cut was good, too. The salon was clean, everyone work masks, and masks are provided for customers. I had a small section of hair missing a few highlights, and the salon was able to take care of it the next week. Ellie was just as pleasant as ever. The only reason I took off a star is because the service was $405 - I am used to paying $300 or so for the same service. read more

She was super great with talking me through exactly what I wanted, while also offering her professional advice. We did partial highlights and low lights. Customer service sucks. No consideration for covid times customer not able to make it and cancel appointments 24 hrs prior to appointment and they charge 50%. This is ridiculous. **BEWARE** This salon took advantage of my daughter! They lack poor communication skills and have outrageous prices for services. My daughter went in for a color correction and was charged $500. And, no, that did not include a haircut. When I called to better understand the charges, the stylist listed out no less than 6 line items of charges including $25 for an extra bowl of bleach. And, "Oh and she had to have a glaze ($45)". OMG! Unfortunately, a hard lesson for my daughter who has now managed to wipe out her savings. But shame on La Migliore and the stylist for taking advantage of a young girl. Got one of the best haircuts at this place. Had been growing tired of long-dead ends, and the stylist finally chopped them all off and I'm so glad she did and that I went to this place! This salon doesn't have the decency to give a courtesy call to its customers when their appt has been cancelled. I called almost 3 weeks ago because my county and the surrounding counties weren't open due to Covid. My 95 year old grandma was desperate for a perm and cut. When making the appointment the girl took down my credit card information to book the open slot. I was relieved to finally get an appt somewhere. Usually professional salons will give you a reminder text/call for your upcoming appointment. I didn't get one so I called, no answer. I figured eh there busy and today I drove 2 HOURS for the appointment. Guess what? There closed. So rude to not let your client know " hey btw were closed would you like to call when we open" just any way of telling the client. Anyway, I walked in, with a rude girl sitting in the front with nothing to say. She wasn't answering calls and just sitting there. After I explained how frustrating it all was she just sat there and was like "mmm yeah we're closed." I told her why don't you start calling some of the upcoming appointments because this is so wrong to not give a heads up. If they do business like this and there interaction with the client is like this I'm glad I didn't have a service here. Waste of my time and energy. The little girl in the front is also not helping by sitting there clueless and rolling her eyes. OH BY THE WAY. Another very upset client was right behind me and they ALSO didn't have the courtesy to let her know. UPDATE---- I gave an honest review of my experience and due to mobility issues I left my grandma in the car to check in I NEVER DEMANDED anyone to do my hair. Why would I, receive a perm and cut??!
